00:00When you are back on Broadway as Billy Flynn in Chicago, what made your first run so much fun
00:06that you wanted to do it again? Well, the first thing is that, you know, I grew up doing musical
00:11theater. I went to musical theater school, and Chicago was one of the first shows I ever saw
00:15as a child. When I was doing theater, I grew up in England, so it was like the West End
00:20seemed like
00:21such a, that was the goal. Broadway seemed absolutely unobtainable. So now to be playing
00:26Billy Flynn in Chicago on Broadway, longest running American musical of all time. Like, it's just so
00:32fun, and the first run was so short. Like, it was only a month, you know, when the Weisslers called
00:35me and asked me, would you want to do it again? I was like, uh, yeah, okay, yeah. So I'm
00:39back. It
00:40feels great, just like riding a bike. I'm able to dive even deeper with the character, and there's
00:46been some changes in the cast as well, so that it's really fun to discover new things with a show
00:50that's been running for so long every night, and I'm doing it till August 16th. Obviously, your first
00:55time around was with the fabulous Whitney Lovett. You know, how special was it to get to do the show
01:01with her? It was so special just because I think during our run on dancing, a lot of our pieces
01:07were
01:08quite theatrical. Like, we had, I think, three Broadway-esque numbers. We did a dance to a Chicago
01:13song. We did a dance to a Wicked song. We did a dance to a Hamilton song, and, you know,
01:21and Whitney's
01:21got that, like, theatrical presence, and that's something that I, um, really lean into as a
01:26choreographer. So, yeah, to be able to then go into Chicago together, like, that's a dancing
01:31with stars first, so that was, uh, that's history there. It was fun. We had a blast together.
