00:00As each soul-crushing goal was slammed into the back of the net, their hopes of reaching the
00:04finals were getting completely torn apart. And no matter how close Liverpool got, they didn't
00:10score a single goal and they lost the game 3-0. The Barcelona home crowd roared as Liverpool hung
00:16their heads in disappointment. Liverpool did still have one more chance for redemption against
00:21Barcelona at Liverpool's home stadium. But in the UEFA Champions League, winners are determined by
00:27the total score across the two matches. So, for Liverpool to make it to the finals, it wouldn't
00:32be enough for them to just win the next match. They would have to win it by four goals. Despite
00:37the humiliation at Barcelona's home ground, Liverpool still had a shred of hope that they
00:42could make a comeback. But when their top scorer, Mo Salah, suffered a concussion in a match against
00:47Newcastle, the odds that Liverpool would be playing for the cup became even slimmer. But
00:51no matter how unlikely a comeback seemed, as Liverpool entered their home stadium for their
00:56second match against Barcelona, and they felt the energy and belief of their fans belting
01:01out the team's anthem, that small shred of hope that Liverpool had transformed into a
01:06renewed, unwavering belief. They were going to make it to the finals, no matter what it took.
01:12So as the match kicked off, they got to work. And it wasn't long before they started hacking
01:16away at Barcelona's lead. They scored once. And then they scored twice. And by now, Barcelona were
01:30clearly getting nervous. Their keeper jumped on the ball, gripping onto it in a desperate attempt to
01:35waste some time. But Gini wasn't having it.
01:37Oh, there's panic now!
01:39And then, only two minutes later, Gini put the ball past the keeper once again.
01:44Oh my goodness gracious me! The unthinkable! The unbelievable!
01:50Liverpool are level from three down against Barcelona!
01:53With only 11 minutes left on the clock, Liverpool had equalised the aggregate score. Both teams
01:59were absolutely exhausted, and Barcelona couldn't believe they'd fumbled the lead this badly. They
02:05were clearly rattled. And perhaps that explains what happened next. Trent Alexander-Arnold secured a
02:11corner kick for Liverpool. However, as he placed the ball, ready for his teammate to come in and take the
02:16corner kick, he looked to his right. And that's when he saw Divock Origi, a lone red shirt among the
02:22flock of
02:23Barcelona players, who were now standing around flat on their feet, seemingly just waiting for
02:28Liverpool to get into position. But Origi had his back turned, and Trent couldn't risk letting
02:33Barcelona wake up to what he was planning. So, Trent hammered the ball along the ground into the box,
02:38and he hoped for the best.
02:46And as the team continued on to the finals, there was absolutely no stopping the momentum from this
02:52comeback. And after a 14-year drought after the miracle at Istanbul, Liverpool once again won the
02:58Champions League.
