00:04Dave Grohl is the lead singer and frontman of American rock band Foo Fighters, who happened
00:11to be my favourite band of all time since I was about probably two years old.
00:18I was born with cerebral palsy, which meant that my legs were tight and that I walked
00:27on my, walked on my toes. So in order to correct that, I went over to America to have an
00:34SDR
00:35or selective dorsal rhizotomy, which means they actually cut open my back and got rid
00:42of the nerves that were making my legs spastic. The Foo Fighters were the soundtracks throughout
00:48all those challenges. They've just always been there to help me through whatever I've
00:53had to face. My hero was the, was the one through my surgery that was played the most and it
01:02sort of helped me to get through all the therapy and rehab afterwards. My first memory of listening
01:10to them was my parents had a DVD of their Live in Hyde Park concert, but I used to watch
01:18that
01:18five or six times a day. And now it's badly scratched. And I used to do like hours and hours
01:26of therapy. And, you know, the therapy place that I was at had like a dress up as someone you
01:33love
01:33or dress up as your hero day. And I chose to dress up as Dave Grohl. I had like a
01:40stick on beard,
01:41a fake wig and a little guitar. And actually I even had his tattoos drawn on me.
01:48Oh, I just remember thinking this guy is the coolest person I've ever seen in my life.
01:54That's when I knew that's what I wanted to do.
01:59Yeah, he is. And he's coming to my hometown of Newcastle. So I'll be there.
02:05Yeah. Yeah, I've actually seen them three times. So the first time I was the ripe old age of three
02:11years old. So no, I haven't. But it's a it's a lifelong dream that I've had to meet the band
02:19and Dave. So I'm hoping we can work something out.
