Wes Craven’s Swamp Thing gets the 5 Minute Drive-In treatment in this fast cut of the 1982 DC Comics creature-feature starring Adrienne Barbeau, Ray Wise, Louis Jourdan, David Hess, and Dick Durock.

Alec Holland’s bio-engineering experiment gets attacked, the lab explodes, chemicals go everywhere, and the swamp turns a doomed scientist into a giant heroic plant monster. From there, it’s rubber-suit fights, swamp romance, villain science, and Anton Arcane acting like immortality is something you should absolutely buy from a suspicious boat party.

This 5 minute edit cuts straight to the transformation, the creature action, the swamp chases, and the weirdest wet superhero energy 1982 had to offer.

5 Weird Fun Facts:
1. Wes Craven wrote and directed Swamp Thing.
2. The movie runs 91 minutes.
3. It’s based on the DC character created by Len Wein and Bernie Wrightson.
4. It was filmed mainly around Cypress Gardens in Moncks Corner, South Carolina.
5. A 2000 DVD accidentally used the longer international cut and had to be recalled.

Is Swamp Thing a creepy DC monster movie, cheesy 1980s swamp nonsense, or secretly romantic vegetable cinema?
