The Vampire’s Ghost gets the 5 Minute Drive-In treatment in this quick one-off edit of the 1945 Republic Pictures horror movie.

I happened to have the video sitting around, so this dusty little vampire detour got cut down fast. The movie has a saloon-owning vampire, jungle mystery, drained bodies, no-reflection weirdness, silver-spear logic, and classic B-movie horror energy.

5 Weird Fun Facts:
1. The whole movie is only 59 minutes long.
2. It was released by Republic Pictures in 1945.
3. Leigh Brackett wrote the original story and co-wrote the script.
4. Brackett later said it shot in 10 days — two days over schedule.
5. The vampire runs a saloon and gets attacked with a silver-tipped spear.

00:02Africa, the dark land where voodoo drums beat in the night.
00:08Still wearing it.
00:09Just wanted to make sure you didn't pick up some more of them while you were in Johannesburg.
00:12In a hospital for children.
00:14How about the doctor?
00:15Sixty skinny as a rail and bald.
00:18Well, looks like you'll be needing a priest.
00:20Father Gilchrist.
00:21Hello, Father.
00:22Another murder out there Saturday.
00:24That's three in a month.
00:25Four.
00:25Two peculiar wounds at the throat.
00:27Oh, medieval Tommy Rod.
00:28It's just a legend.
00:29No, I don't believe in vampires.
00:31But I do believe with the church and the power of evil.
00:34Yeah, I thought I'd see Webb Fallon.
00:35If anybody knows what's going on, he does.
00:37Here's my share of the traitor boat, Baconda Queen.
00:40The devil himself couldn't have such luck.
00:42Sorry.
00:43Sorry.
00:44Good rings are on me.
00:45Hey!
00:47I thought you might know something about the mysterious killings.
00:50I want my money back and my ship, too.
00:52Take it easy, fella.
00:53I'd draw the dice myself.
00:54They're straight.
00:54Stay out of this, Kendrick.
00:55Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh.
01:05Get out.
01:06First time I ever quit a fight when a guy just looked at me.
01:09You know the fella you give your butted winnings to?
01:11He just dropped dead out there.
01:13Well, this box means so much to me.
01:14Team 88.
01:15But that's your name.
01:16And the name of my ancestor.
01:17You can read the code.
01:18It's a witchcraft cult in Belonga village.
01:20I wonder if that's the place the vampire room has started.
01:25What's that mirror?
01:26Evil.
01:30Will it come from front over there?
01:32The bullet did pass through his body, but there's no mark.
01:45Sam, I...
01:48Take it away.
01:49I can still feel it searing me.
01:52Alan.
01:52I was seeing a creature that doesn't exist.
01:55You're looking at a legend.
01:56They knew what creature it is that must have human blood to live.
01:59400 years ago, I've been under a curse.
02:02Curse of the undead.
02:04Young people like you and Julie, I destroy them.
02:07I've learned things that no human being can ever know.
02:09Your mind belongs to me.
02:11From now until the day you die.
02:13You will never speak of this.
02:14I will never speak.
02:15And leave me where the rising moon will bathe me in the light.
02:24Glad to see you back, Roy.
02:26Anyway, you did a pretty good job without me.
02:27The killings have stopped and all the natives are quiet.
02:30Alan.
02:31I've never seen such violent delirium.
02:33Can't imagine what he wants with it.
02:35The doctor said it might make him worse if he didn't get it.
02:37The undead can be completely destroyed in only one way.
02:40The body must be consumed with fire and the ashes scatter.
02:43People like Julie and me.
02:44You come between them and destroy them.
02:46I like it here.
02:47One day soon, she'll join me in eternal life.
02:49I'm telling Father Gilchrist.
02:51You are not telling anybody.
02:54You were at the Vance house.
02:56You practically live there.
02:57Keeping track of me, Lisa?
03:05I'm speaking to you, Lisa.
03:08And even if robbery were the motive in Bearer's case,
03:11how do you account for the murder of the dancer?
03:12The bodies had peculiar punctures at the throat.
03:14The bodies were partly drained of blood.
03:16I don't know where I'm going to fight another dancer half as good.
03:18Go away anywhere.
03:19Away from Bukunda.
03:20This has all happened before.
03:21It'll all happen again until the end of time.
03:24I bring life to my victims.
03:25Didn't you read that in your book?
03:26Lisa will rise from her grave and walk again.
03:29So will Julie.
03:31You bother with a dagger when even a bullet couldn't hurt me?
03:34She won't be with you much longer.
03:35You're afraid.
03:36Somebody has to be blamed and Fallon's the outsider.
03:39Fallon saved your life not once but twice.
03:41Why don't you say something?
03:42Why don't you defend your friend?
03:44The drums say it isn't the fever.
03:46It's too late.
03:47Enough that I'd like to see you leave Bukunda for a while
03:49until this thing blows over.
03:50I'll leave Bukunda as quickly as possible.
03:54Julie.
03:56Come to me, Julie.
04:01I've been waiting, Julie.
04:02What they say about Mr. Fallon is true.
04:04The curse of the undead.
04:06I've been under his control ever since that night out on the safari.
04:09Stay with Julie.
04:09Where is she?
04:10Isn't she here?
04:15They went by motor.
04:16They're either bound for Angana or Calabar.
04:18You can stop here.
04:19A temple village sacred to the death guard of a forbidden cult.
04:23Those who come here will die.
04:25Come in, Julie.
04:27They were seen entering the Itoba village.
04:29Without beginning, without end.
04:30Will you come with me, Julie?
04:32I'll go with you.
04:33Always.
04:35Listen to me.
04:45It's burning.
04:49Are you all right, Julie?
04:54It's like a terrible dream.
04:57But it's all over.
04:58Come on.
