Malaysia’s vast land and maritime borders continue to pose challenges for enforcement authorities in curbing smuggling, illegal immigration and other cross-border crimes.

Bukit Aman Internal Security and Public Order Department director Comm Datuk Seri Mohd Yusri Hassan Basri said effective border security requires close cooperation between enforcement agencies and neighbouring countries, as well as strong support from communities living near border areas.
