Hubble wasn't even pointed at this on purpose. What it caught is remarkable. 🔭💥
While observing something else entirely, NASA's Hubble Space Telescope happened to capture a comet actively breaking apart — fragmenting in real time as sunlight and gravitational stress tore it apart. Moments like this are extremely rare to catch on camera, since comet breakups happen unpredictably and fast.
Key facts:
• Captured by NASA's Hubble Space Telescope, 2026
• An unplanned, "accidental" observation
• Shows real-time cometary fragmentation, rarely documented this clearly
