SpaceX outlined a major Starlink Mobile expansion using EchoStar spectrum and next-generation satellites. The company expects improved direct-to-phone service and aims to win customers from major U.S. carriers.

00:02SpaceX used its first earnings call to outline plans for a major expansion of Starlink Mobile,
00:07according to Benzinga. The company said its EchoStar Spectrum deal and next-generation
00:12satellites will dramatically improve direct-to-phone service. President and COO Gwynn
00:18Shotwell said the additional 65 mHz of Spectrum and a planned 10-fold increase in satellites
00:24could make the service 100 times better than its current capabilities.
00:27The upgraded network is expected to support voice and video calls over signal and WhatsApp,
00:32while reducing dead zones and improving connectivity during natural disasters.
00:37Shotwell said satellite launches will begin next year with service expected by the end of the year.
00:43She also said SpaceX aims to win customers from AT&T, Verizon, and T-Mobile.
00:48SpaceX stock was down 8.09% at 115.19 following the conference call Tuesday.
