00:00I want to start, though, with Disney, because it looks like it found some magic again.
00:04A surge in streaming strength in its theme park business helped overall results last quarter,
00:09and the stock is getting rewarded.
00:12Shares of Disney are higher this morning.
00:14So here are some highlights from the earnings call just moments ago.
00:18It plans to add merchandise, games, and experiences to its Disney Plus streaming service in the spring.
00:24And CEO Josh DiMarco, which I have to get used to saying that now.
00:28This is the second earnings call.
00:30Right, all right, with no more Bob Iger.
00:32He says the NBA Finals and the NHL drove ESPN to its strongest Q3 viewership in about a decade.
00:41So Disney says it's highly focused on continuing to reduce costs.
00:45We know they've had a number of job cut announcements over the past couple of years.
00:49It seems like that's going to continue as they try to rein in expenses.
00:53And also sort of buried in all of this, Disney said it recorded a tariff refund
00:57of about $100 million.
00:59So that's interesting.
01:01And if you remember, its rival Comcast came out with earnings recently,
01:04and its Universal Resorts in Orlando did not do very well.
01:07Yes, so it's a little bit of a difference there.
01:09So Disney is definitely doing something right.
01:12Okay, so let's move on to AMD,
01:15because that stock is up 142% so far this year,
01:20and this morning here in the pre-market, down about 9%.
01:24You know, every metric it beat, and it beat big, revenue and profits,
01:29but apparently not enough to satisfy Wall Street's hunger for these lofty numbers.
01:35And also, I guess, hurting the stock a bit,
01:38Elon Musk came out and said,
01:38you know what, SpaceX is not going to buy its chips from AMD anymore.
01:41They're going to go over to rival NVIDIA.
01:43He didn't really say why, though.
01:45Maybe they were more competitive on pricing.
01:46I don't want to do buy, hold, sell here.
01:48That's not our mandate.
01:50But I do want to remember, Paul,
01:51that Facebook cratered for a year after their IPO.
01:57Until they found their footing.
01:58And then they found their footing, and away we go.
02:00So you're saying that could be a SpaceX story?
02:02I'm not saying that.
02:03I'm just observing that Facebook's IPO was a crater for a year.
02:08Well, you want to know, talk about lofty expectations.
02:10Musk says he wants revenue,
02:11where he believes revenue will hit a trillion dollars by 2030.
02:152030?
02:15Yeah, and he says AI is going to get them there.
02:18Our let's go to PINs is the ticker symbol.
02:21We're talking Pinterest.
02:22That is the image sharing platform that we know Tom Keen is on all the time.
02:25We have to try to get him off it.
02:28It's delivering 18% revenue growth.
02:31Record users, 640 million people on the Pinterest.
02:36But the stock is sharply lower this morning.
02:40Lukewarm sales guidance.
02:41That's what's tripping it up.
02:42A lot of competition, it said, for digital advertising, which is basically its backbone, right?
02:47Including from companies like Meta, because a lot of the business that would go to Pinterest goes over to Meta's
02:52Instagram.
02:53Yep.
02:53Also, during the call, Pinterest's CEO is saying that the World Cup ending and Amazon's Prime Day moving to the
03:01second quarter actually impacted its brand spending and thus its third quarter guidance.
03:07Yep.
03:07So there you go there.
03:08It's tough digital advertising.
03:08I mean, there's a couple of monster, monster platforms, and then everybody else trying to fight for the crumbs.
03:13Yeah.
03:14And with the crumbs are left, and everybody fights for the crumbs.
03:16All right.
03:16Let's talk Shopify.
03:18Shares jumping here.
03:19This is a Canadian-based e-commerce giant reporting sharp growth in the second quarter, a more aggressive than expected
03:27forecast for the third quarter, driven by gains both at subscription software and merchant services units.
03:34So that's good.
03:35Free cash flow margin expected to be in the high teens as well.
03:38So shares are up 24% right now in Shopify.
03:41I saw that.
03:42That's a nice move.
03:43That's a big move.
03:44That is.
03:45I mean, online shopping, Wayfair yesterday, Shopify today.
03:48We got a question in from, you know, this Bloomberg.com subscribers, Ask Radio.
