00:00PayPal, it is up more than 19%. Remember, PayPal also owns Venmo, which is the digital payments
00:05company. The stock had been down 35% in the past 12 months. So nice pop here for shareholders of
00:13PayPal. And this is why. So the privately held payments company Stripe and private equity firm
00:19Advent International are teaming up on a bid to take over PayPal, valuing the company at more
00:26than $53 billion. That's about $60.50 a share. The two plan to jointly own PayPal via equal stakes
00:33rather than looking to break it up. This is according to a report in Reuters, by the way,
00:37I took a deeper look into PayPal. It processes $2 trillion in payment volumes a year. It is just
00:43under 440 million active accounts. Yep. So I'm not I don't use it, though. I very rarely unless a vendor
00:52tells me and it's usually somebody from overseas tells me I have to pay with PayPal. It's overseas
00:57is just so darn convenient. Yeah, yeah. But this is also sparking this talk of a possible deal for
01:03PayPal sparking further fintech consolidation or at least talk of it because Fiserv, that stock is up
01:09about 2% here in the pre market on the thought that maybe it too is, you know, is a
01:13takeover target.
01:14Look at the look at the chart. PayPal peaked in late early 2021 at almost $300 a share. Yeah.
01:19Wow. Wow. It was hot. Yep. All right. Let's move over to a little Slim Jim beef jerky for
01:25breakfast. How about that? ConAgra, the prepackaged foods company down nearly 5% here. This is it's
01:32been a tough year. The stock has been down about 18% year to date. It doesn't just make beef
01:36jerky
01:36though. Also a whole bunch of other things, including a bird's eye frozen foods reporting
01:40organic sales here for the quarter that missed estimates. Guidance also fell short of estimates
01:45and management is slicing the quarterly dividend in half to 17 and a half cents a share. This is
01:52to free up some cash. ConAgra has a new CEO just started earlier this month. He's trying to turn the
01:57company around. ConAgra also plans to boost prices. So get ready, especially in its frozen food
02:03department. It's struggling along with a lot of the prepackaged companies.
02:07Over the last five years on a compounded annual basis, the stock is down 12% per year.
02:12Don't, do we all agree there's this, you know, when we look at our kitchen right now,
02:16your kitchen. Yeah. It's radically different than our parents' kitchen. Oh my gosh. A hundred percent.
02:22Radically different. Yeah. No TV food dinners in my house. Are you, are you, are you pejorative?
02:28Not that I'm passing judgment. You know, a good little hot piping, hot apple pie and that thing
02:32burns the roof of your mouth in your TV dinner. Yeah. Always, always fun. Let's move over to
02:37SpaceX because it is dangerously close to breaking its $135 IPO price. The stock we know is off to a
02:46great start, but it's had a tough go of it over the past few days. The stock has been down
02:49three
02:50days in a row. It closed yesterday at just a buck above its IPO price. So Elon Musk's rocket and
02:57AI
02:57company, it needs a little good news. It could come tomorrow because SpaceX is going to test its
03:03huge, fully reusable starship for the 13th time. Okay. It takes money to do something 13 times over,
03:12especially when it's something as expensive as a rocket ship. I think if I bought that IPO,
03:16I would just stick it in the drawer and not look at it for five years. Yeah. That's what I
03:19couldn't.
03:20The day to day will make you crazy. Right now I'm looking at 136 up a dollar, 137. Yep. Yep.
03:26And SpaceX. Yep. There you go.
