00:00All right, Coca-Cola. How about a Coke with your bagel? I don't know about that.
00:04It's up 4.2% here pre-market. It's been having a nice year. Coca-Cola up 20%,
00:10outperforming the S&P 500 here this year. Raised its full-year outlook, boosted by demand last
00:15quarter while it was a major sponsor of the FIFA World Cup. So the company said that about half
00:21the five-week World Cup tournament was part of that quarter. And in North America, where the
00:27World Cup was hosted, organic sales for Coke jumped 7%, much more than analysts expected.
00:32North America accounted for about 40% of total sales last quarter, the most of any region. So
00:37it really paid off for Coca-Cola spending big on the World Cup. Analysts are saying it continued
00:43to gain traction with shoppers with its sugar-free sodas, sports drinks, and water at a time when
00:49we know, we keep talking about it, consumers are pulling back on those sugary drinks.
00:53Yeah, I'm not a diet soda person, but the Coke Zero, you can put that in front of me anytime
00:56I'll drink. I've never, honestly, I have never tried it. It tastes just like regular, I don't
00:59know. Dare I say I'm not a soda person. Coca-Cola up 27% this year. I mean, that's not
01:06a shabby
01:07return. It's crazy. No, I mean, is there an AI play there? I don't know. I'm sure we could
01:12work it in. PayPal, P-Y-P-L ticker symbol there, up 2% here pre-market, but down about
01:204% year
01:22to date. So PayPal reported second quarter earnings and revenue topping estimates, also
01:26raised its full year adjusted profit guidance. And CEO Enrico Lourdes commenting on takeover
01:32speculation, he said, the company remains open to evaluating opportunities that could create
01:37superior value for shareholders. Remember, Rival Stripe, private equity firm Advent, they offered
01:4260 bucks a share for PayPal. PayPal basically went, go back to the drawing board and try to do better.
01:47PayPal last closed at $56 a share. And want to get Hilton Hotels in here, another stock we're
01:54watching today. HLT is the ticker symbol. It's down 3% pre-market. Now, Hilton did report second
02:00quarter earnings that beat the street. Demand improved across a range of price segments,
02:05but Hilton lowered its expectations for net income, and it seems like that's what's tripping up
02:10investors. And also a key metric for the hotel industry, revenue per available room.
02:15Revpar. Yes, Revpar. Nice that you know that.
02:19Yeah, I'm all over that stuff. You are all over it. It increased 3.9%
02:24worldwide. It also rose 5.4% in the U.S., where hotels charged higher prices during the World Cup.
02:32But Revpar, or revenue per available room, declined by 30% in the Middle East and Africa. And a lot
02:37of
02:37that is due to the war in the region. Yeah, that's brutal. But, you know, talk about a cake-shaped
02:43economy. These hotel companies now, they have so many different brands. They've
02:46Stratus. I can't keep trying. You can't keep up. But they've sliced and diced the market. They've
02:50got something for every part of the market. That's genius. I think you have to. To me,
02:53it's a blur. I mean, the airlines are bad enough, but they're nothing compared to the slicing and
03:00dicing, as you say. Yeah, so you've got to pick your company. Like, you know,
03:04you've got to pick your company. Like, you know,
