Gatchalian asks if COA verified names on receipts; Wamil says it was not part of audit

Senate President Sherwin 'Win' Gatchalian asked former COA-ICFAO auditor Roderick Wamil on Wednesday, Aug. 5, whether COA verified the identities of individuals named in acknowledgment receipts submitted by the Office of the Vice President.  Wamil said verifying the names was not part of COA's compliance audit, explaining that auditors only examine the documents' face value, payment dates, and amounts and rely on the records submitted by the agency.
