00:50is that Alec Guinness's interpretation is much beloved,

01:00I mean, this is very much its own thing.
01:02But it was a double-edged sword, really,
01:06because it is a wonderful opportunity to play a character like George.
01:10And yet there's the ghost of Guinness.
01:12But I approached it much the same way you would a classical role.
01:17You know, there have been many interpretations of Hamlet,
01:19and you have the ghost of Gielgud and Richard Burton and Laurence Olivier,
01:23but you kind of just really have to walk through the fire, really.
01:26He killed our man in Istanbul.
01:29It just becomes so ugly.
01:31It's nice to come back and play a lead.
01:33You're there every day, particularly with this story.
01:35I got to get a go with all of them.
01:37I actually worked with the entire cast.
01:39It's different on something like a Potter or the Batman series,
01:43because people will say to me,
01:45what's it like working with so-and-so?
01:46And you go, well, we're in the same movie,
01:48but I never got a scene with them.
01:49So it was a wonderful experience to get to work with everybody.

02:37If there's a Smiley's people, I'm sure Tomás would be involved.
