00:00hey what's up everybody so as you have probably seen I haven't been posting
00:06much in the last few months and there has been a good reason for that I have
00:10been doing YouTube for the last five years regularly uploading a video almost
00:15every week and in the last five years YouTube has changed a lot the algorithm
00:20has changed a lot what works what does not work has changed a lot and some
00:26things for better and some things for the worse when I started this channel I
00:31had different things in mind I didn't want to do one thing only because that
00:36would limit my creativity a lot so I decided to go the multi-format way which
00:41was in hindsight probably a bad decision if you want to do YouTube for a living
00:46at least I did from the very beginning travel vlogs skits funny videos you know
00:51music related content and a ton of experimental videos in between and I
00:57see now that this has been hurting my channel a lot my thinking was if I do
01:02multi-format from the very beginning starting this channel the people will
01:07get used to it the algorithm will get used to it and people will watch whatever
01:11I put out there a few years ago the YouTube algorithm was pretty forgiving
01:16doing doing this as time passes it is not so forgiving anymore you can see this
01:22in my last few videos they were some of the best videos maybe even the best
01:26videos I've ever put out there and they got no views at all like the YouTube
01:33algorithm just doesn't push them out and as you can imagine this has been
01:37highly demotivating to continue making videos so what does this mean for this
01:43channel this means I'm quitting I'm quitting but I'm quitting not YouTube you
01:51can all be relieved I'm just quitting the multi format so from now on I won't be
01:58posting any more like long-form videos on this channel no opinions no travel
02:05advice no music related content I will just stick to the videos you all have
02:12subscribed to most of you have subscribed to my channel because of the funny
02:16videos the skits where I make fun about German culture or different cultures so
02:21that's basically what I should focus on is to make more funny videos because
02:25apparently and that's what I'm good at and I enjoy doing skits there's no
02:30question in that I just enjoyed doing the other things as well but the return of
02:35investment is just it's just not there I just didn't want to limit my
02:39creativity to this format only but trying all the other things as well really hurt
02:45my channel and I would be much much further ahead if I just would have stuck
02:51to one type of content which I will do from now so yeah I'm gonna give in to the
02:58algorithm the mighty god the YouTube algorithm yeah I'm giving you what you
03:05want real life documentaries that can make you cry love or both at the same time as
03:11time passes I may start a second channel where do the other formats I enjoy doing
03:17like the challenges the adventures they're so much fun because you
03:21experience new things the skits are also fun to do but yeah it's just like
03:26script writing acting editing and it's not like you're interacting a lot with the
03:32outside the world it's you're in your bubble kind of I think everybody who does
03:37YouTube has to find their way has to find their way of dealing with the
03:42algorithm finding what they enjoy doing I really don't understand people who can
03:47do one format only but also I don't understand people who go to an office job
03:53so maybe I'm just not good in understanding those things anyway many more
03:58funny videos to come what I need from you guys now is being on camera with me if
04:04you want to be part in some of the skits in the future just let me know in the
04:09comments and write me because they will need a lot of actors and I don't have
04:13money to pay them so yeah if you are thinking about doing YouTube or you're
04:18doing YouTube already just take my advice stick to one format stick to one niche
04:24don't do anything else then you will be much more successful until the next video
