Chinese warships monitored anew on WPS  After China’s false claims of having conducted naval drills in Bajo de Masinloc (Scarborough Shoal), the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) confirms monitoring Chinese warships last July 31 and Aug. 1, 2026.  Rear Admiral Roy Vincent Trinidad, AFP spokesman for the West Philippine Sea on Aug. 4 confirmed sighting five warships, one replenishment ship, two hovercrafts, two helicopters and an unidentified number of fighter aircraft.
