00:18But if that was not going to be the plan, then I would say to hell with the fit.
00:22Go get a guy that you could stick there and hit .300 at the top of a lineup that you

00:26and not worry about Jazz Chisholm Jr.'s feelings in that spot and figure out a way to play him.

00:46in terms of ideally you want a right-handed bat,
00:49and ideally you want to upgrade your offensive foibles at catcher, third base, and shortstop.
00:54Luis Arise and Luis Garcia Jr. don't play those positions,
00:57and I doubt there's going to be a position change in the middle of the season.

01:04I doubt we're going to see Luis Garcia play third base for the first time in his career.
01:08But it's interesting that Brian Cashman made a decision to go with the guy who strikes out more,
01:14hits more home runs, versus the guy with the higher batting average
01:18and the better bat-on-ball skills.
01:20Because when you look at both guys this season, forget about the position versatility,
01:24because obviously both guys are similar in terms of their second base, first base,
01:27and they're probably going to DH a lot here.
01:30Would you rather have the guy who's hitting .323?
01:33Would you rather have the guy who's going to strike out far less,
01:37or would you want the slug?
01:39Luis Garcia leads the National League in slugging percentage.
01:41He's hit 23 home runs.
01:43Luis Arise is at four.
01:44I don't think you can go wrong either way.
01:46I think both guys would be a great addition to this offense.
01:49But I would lean slightly towards going after Luis Arise.
01:53And Brian Cashman obviously doesn't.
