00:22are struggling and also for our domestic automakers that are actually pulling back on a lot of EVs
00:28they had planned. Money questioning. Scarlett probably has this. I'm going to steal it from
00:32her. Should the Chinese be let into America to sell us cheap EVs? You know what? I'm not an
00:38economist. Jim Farley at Ford thinks that EVs from China will be here in the next five years or so.
00:45A lot of people. Keith Naughton, our esteemed automotive reporter, came on the podcast
00:49yesterday, agrees it's only a matter of time. It's only a matter of time. But I mean, under this
00:54president, unlikely, right, David Gura, because he is all about trade wars and tariffs and making
00:59sure that he seeks vengeance on those who have wronged him in the past. And you see this across
01:05the policy spectrum. That's absolutely correct. I mean, he's somebody who loves tariffs, as he says
01:09time and time again. I would have a hard time imagining him welcoming Chinese autos into the
01:14United States as he invites American automakers to the lawn of the White House over and over again.
01:18We saw him put these new tariffs in place just a few days ago. So that's very much the direction
01:22of travel.
