00:30I am a little disappointed that you did not bring your cat.
00:33There was rumors that you were going to bring your cat today.
00:36I was.
00:37I got a migraine, which those suck, shout out migraines.
00:40But we were going to film and then afterwards I was going to have an appointment with like
00:46a play date, if you will.
00:47So my kitty was going to be right here.
00:49But unfortunately, with the way that everything panned out, it didn't work out.
00:53But that would have been fun.
00:54I never see a cat on set.
00:56So that would have been my dream, to be honest.
00:58Yeah.
00:59Well, Teddy's the best.
01:00Teddy's like a big, a big lover.
01:02How long have you had your cat?
01:03Oh, I found him in Venice to 2022.
01:08Oh, wow.
01:09So I've had him.
01:09You found him?

01:10He was really scrawny.

01:13And I was like, what is that sound?
01:14And so I went on a little investigation and then I found him and he was really, really
01:19scrawny.
01:20I had a broken hip, but he's like such a rascal.
01:23Like he gets, he's the best little boy, but he's just, he's got that little brain.
01:28He's orange.

01:29And I go, you're doing this on purpose.
01:31And he goes, ah.
01:32Also amazing that you like rescued him off the street.
01:35Well, I mean, I feel like it's the right thing to do.
01:37You know, I had, I had already had, I still have a cat and that's my baby.
01:43And then with Teddy and now fostering also Clementine.
01:46So there's like, there's three of them in my home.
01:49One's my baby and two being fosters.
01:52Was it extra difficult for you to film the cat scenes in Obsession because you're a cat
01:58lover?
01:58It was hard to watch as a cat lover.
02:00Because of the fact that like, I wasn't, there was only one scene technically that I
02:04was with the thing and it looked so fake.
02:07To me, it wasn't difficult because I think Michael actually posted a picture of it where
02:12its face was like, but it just looked so fake that it wasn't any.
02:21Plus it didn't look like any of my babies.
02:23So it was more traumatic to watch, I suppose.
02:26Yeah.
02:27Especially the way that everybody, like our art team made the cat sandwich look.
02:32I had to look away respectfully.
02:34Oh man.
02:35But I can't wait to dive into like, obviously your career up till now.

03:51Like there's this huge fan push online to like get you to play this character specifically
03:55in the Spider-Man universe.
03:57Well, I love Spider-Man and I really love the like Tom Holland spider press that's been
04:04happening right now, especially paired with Odyssey.
04:06Whenever I picked this outfit today, I was like, this feels very Odyssey of me.
04:09Every time that I see something like this, I kind of, I'll giggle because I'm like,
04:12obviously I know the truth.
04:14But I would love to be a part of Marvel.
04:16I think it's fun, especially since like I grew up watching X-Men.
04:20But like the, like the 2001, like 2000 kind of X-Men, that would be fun.
04:26But how was your meeting with Jake Schreier for X-Men?
04:29Well, I've been taking a lot of meetings since like Obsession has come out.
04:33And that's been really nice because you get to meet people and you get to ask questions.
04:37And I thought what he brought to Thunderbolts was what I used to love about Marvel was like
04:42character driven and really.
04:44And so the whole time I just couldn't stop yapping about how much I appreciated what he
04:48had brought to Marvel.
04:50And that's kind of like the luxury that I have right now, meeting all of these different
04:53kinds of people.
04:53And not all of them kind of turn into projects.
04:57It'll be, I just really want to work with you.
05:00And it's like, I've seen this project of yours and this and this and this.
05:03And so I just really wanted to congratulate him on bringing back my favorite thing of Thunderbolts.
05:07And he's a very sweet person.
05:08Is there a character you would love to play or you grew up watching that you're like,
05:12oh, that would be such a dream, even if somebody already is playing them?
05:15Oh, I mean, Mystique has always been super cool.
05:18And I mean, her growing up, like, I remember watching the behind the scenes process of like,
05:26of all of the prosthetics.
05:27That was super cool for me.
05:29I would always watch behind the scenes of a lot of stuff.
05:30Pirates of the Caribbean, I remember was a big thing that I would watch the BTS of.
05:35X-Men, you know, the prosthetics.
05:37I just find it so fascinating.
05:39I want to go back a little bit of just like who you are.
05:42Where were you born?
05:43Like, do you come from a big family?
05:45Tell me a little bit about you.
05:46I do come from a big family.
05:48There's, I'm the second oldest of seven.
05:53I get the number wrong.
05:54It's like six or seven.
05:55It's that big.
05:56Don't do that.
05:56It's that big of a family.
05:58Yes, yes, yes.
05:58It's huge.
06:00Yeah, so I'm second oldest.
06:03But they're kind of like split families, which is kind of fun.
06:06So, like, you're one family over here, one family over here.
06:10But yeah, second oldest.
06:12My dad's a Marine, so I grew up moving around a lot, which kind of aided this idea now of
06:16meeting new people and having to live in new atmospheres.
06:19I feel like I wouldn't have been able to fully appreciate that.
06:22What's the hardest part when you're a kid about moving around?
06:25See, it's different kid per kid.
06:27Because I had friends that were also like military brats, as they would call them.
06:33And it would be, you know, I hate moving around.
06:35And I hate moving friends.
06:36Me, I was like, new story, new place.
06:39You're like playing a character each time.
06:41Yeah, I was like, new people.
06:47And so that was really fun for me.
06:49But as I've gotten older, I've really, like, appreciated, like, a small town mentality.
06:53Because my parents were divorced, my mom grew up, or for the majority, had us live in Fresno,
07:02like Visalia, Bakersfield.
07:04And living there predominantly at the time, I got that small town vibe while also ping-ponging.
07:10So it's kind of like I grew up with both, which was really awesome.
07:14And I still go back.
07:15I love Visalia.
07:16I love Tulare County.
07:17It's a 559 area.
07:20It's really, it's just homey.
07:21It's the best.
07:23Was your dad strict because he's a Marine?
07:25Oh, yeah.
07:25Maybe that's just a perception.
07:26Oh, you're like, yes.
07:27Oh, yeah, babe.
07:29Oh, yeah.
07:30But I feel like it's been good.
07:31Like, my dad's a lot of, his strictness comes a lot with, like, college education.
07:36Like, he really, really loves to push education.
07:39So for me, not having my college education, and I just went to Superman and Lois, I treated it like
07:44college.
07:44So while I was there, I was watching what the directors would do.
07:47At one point, side note, which we can get into later, I got hit by a car.
07:52Wait, that can't be a side note.
07:54That's a crazy side note.
07:56I got hit by a car.
07:58And so I couldn't walk.
07:59And we were still filming.
08:00And so I had to sit down in between takes.
08:03And I'm a waitress, right?
08:04So I have to sit and then go in and bring the order and then come back.
08:07And so I'm sitting next to the DPs, and they always scared me because I'm, like, there's sometimes little, little
08:12grumpies, a little grumpy sometimes.
08:14And then I realized it's because, you know, the marks aren't being hit.
08:17And then I'm asking about lenses, and I'm learning so much.
08:20And so it was so nice spending the first three years treating it like college, like different directors, learning how
08:26to talk to different actors, how different things are working, different scripts, different writers, like really honing in on all
08:32of that.
08:32And then learning about lenses and the cinematography in my brain, I just felt, like, expanded.
08:36So even though I didn't have the opportunity to go to college, I felt like I did.
08:40It's like film school.
08:41Exactly.
08:41People go to film school.
08:42Yeah, yeah, yeah.
08:43And it was much more, like, hands-on.
08:45And that a lot had to do with, like, my dad's focal point on, like, learning is really important and
08:51never stop learning.
08:52And same with my mom.
08:53She built her own business.
08:54So, like, I had some really cool parents.
08:57Both hustlers in terms of work, right?
08:59Yeah, yeah, yeah.
08:59And they want to, like, instill that in you, I'm sure.
09:02Yeah, yeah.
09:02It's no secret now that you're very big into video games.
09:04When did you start playing video games?
09:06And do you remember the first game you played?
09:08Oh, yeah.
09:09So, like, my mom, being a young mom and trying to do things with her kids, PS2.
09:18And it was a Shrek game.
09:20I've been trying to find it.
09:21And it doesn't fully exist.
09:23I think it was only on PS2.
09:25But they had big heads.
09:26It was, like, if Mario Party and Shrek had a baby.
09:29So, it was, like, Shrek party.
09:30And so, that and Call of Duty was kind of, like, my earlier memories.
09:34Because my dad loved Call of Duty and my mom loved Shrek.
09:37But games are happening on both sides.
09:39Like, the Australian side of my family loves board games.
09:42What kind of board games?
09:43Oh, my God.
09:43Life, Monopoly, Yahtzee.
09:45I loved Life.
09:46Like, I felt like I was planning my own life every time I played.
09:49It was, like, is this a magic eight ball or, you know, whatever, a crystal ball.
09:53I had six babies.
09:54I was, like, no, never mind.
09:55Yeah, we would play Yahtzee and my grandma would do this thing where she would write down all of the
09:59Yahtzee games and, like, people winning in the years on the inside.
10:03So, like, if you opened up the box and you flipped it open on the inner part of the lid
10:07would have all of these things.
10:09And as a kid, you just see your grandma doing stuff.
10:12But now, obviously, because everybody's gotten older, it's a sweet little thing to have.
10:16But board games as much as video games.
10:19But video games, I would say, are easier to do by yourself.
10:23So, someone will definitely have to find that Shrek video game for you.
10:26I've found it on YouTube, but I can't find, like, a physical copy.
10:29Are you streaming still?
10:30No, I don't have the time.
10:32Yeah.
10:33Are the streams still up on Twitch?
10:34Oh, I, like, I deleted all of them just because I felt like I was, I got scared and I
10:41was, like, I'm moving into, like, a new chapter of my life.
10:43Like, what if people saw that I Twitched and now they don't take me seriously?
10:48Or it was just a lot of, I mean, it's not based in fact, but I just panicked and I
10:54deleted a lot of them.
10:55Which I think is so funny because now they're, like, everyone, I'm like, how did you get those?
10:59I thought I deleted them.
11:00Oh, because people found them.
11:01Because people found them.
11:02And, like, they had reposted or, like, it'll come up and it'll be, like, a clip from something.
11:05I was like, how did you find that?
11:07I wonder if they were, like, fans, obviously, when you were streaming and then clipped it or something.
11:11Yeah, so now I am kind of happy that that happened because I can relive it and now seeing that
11:17people are so lovingly holding on to it, my fear was for nothing.
11:22But, I mean, everybody gets scared.
11:24But I love, love, love streaming at that time and it also just helped me out with, like, financials and
11:30everything like that.
11:31Doing something that I loved and getting paid for it and just meeting new people.
11:35What got you into streaming in the first place?
11:37Like, what made you say, I think I, like, want to start streaming?
11:39Were you thinking maybe, like, career-wise or just for fun?
11:41Oh, I wasn't thinking that too far ahead.
11:45I don't think that far ahead.
11:48I think, for me, it was more of a, I love playing video games by myself.
11:54I'm not getting any work.
11:56I know that other people do this.
11:57I also grew up watching YouTube and, like, Markiplier and everybody like that.
12:01So, maybe I could do it.
12:05And so, that is kind of what started the streaming process.
12:08Because you gained a lot of followers when you were streaming.
12:10Was there a point where you thought, like, maybe this is actually the career path I'm going to take?
12:13Or was acting always it for you?
12:16Oh, acting was always it for me.
12:18Because also sometimes followers don't translate to views.
12:22So, I could have, like, 16,000 followers.
12:25But also, it's not going to translate to, like, there's going to be 16,000 people that are constantly watching.
12:30So, I would think I would max out at, like, 100.
12:33Which was nice and, like, intimate.
12:35I think I kind of preferred that intimacy versus the, like, who are you?
12:42Who are you?
12:43And why are you commenting?
12:44I'm confused.
12:45Sort of a vibe.
12:46I love your online presence, though.
12:48Like, even your TikTok.
12:49Why is your TikTok username Mr. Bombastic?
12:52Yes.

13:04I feel like vibe-wise for this thing.

13:33And that's what I appreciate about, like, my favorite people.
13:35Like, Zara Larson is somebody that, like, if I ever, if it ever feels too big, I will
13:41go to her page and I'll be like, we're girls and we're having fun.
13:45Are you a Zara Larson fan in terms of music, too?
13:47Oh, yeah.
13:48What do you listen to?
13:49I made my son.
13:51Yeah.
13:52No.
13:52Now, her, dude, she's awesome.
13:56I also love, again, like, she's been in the game for a while.
14:00She's been pushing for a while.
14:02And, like, she has her moment and she's doing everything she can to, like, keep it.
14:07And that sort of, like, it reminds me of watching old behind the scenes of, like, Britney Spears,
14:12seeing her do what she's doing.
14:14And I love you, Zara.
14:15Does that feel a little bit like you right now in terms of, like, you know, Obsession
14:19only came out May 15.
14:21We're here a couple months later.
14:22Yeah.
14:22And it's just, like, propelled you into, like, fame and hopefully opportunities as well.
14:26Do you kind of feel like seizing that moment right now and, like you're saying, taking
14:29those meetings?
14:30I'm really trying to be specific with it because I don't want to lose the audience's trust in
14:36me that I feel like Nikki gave them and that I gave them, sorry, that I gave them through
14:41Nikki.
14:42And I want to be very discerning with, like, my next couple of projects because I love
14:47cinema.
14:48I've loved cinema since I was really young.
14:50And I love, like, 1998 to 2010 movies.
14:58Like, that vibe and that warmth.
15:00And I think that my generation is very nostalgic for those things.
15:03And I want to bring that back.
15:05I also love, like, my gothic side, if you would even call it that, of movies like Dragula
15:14that, um, Dragula, Dragula, with a C, not a G, that's Rob Zombie.
15:19I want to bring back, like, that whimsical nature.
15:21So even if I do, like, big studio movies, I want to pair them with, like, indie movies
15:26because indie movies is not only where I got my start but where I felt like this creative
15:31bug really started in me of, oh, this is a lot of fun.
15:35And this is original.
15:36And this is whimsical.
15:38And this can be everything.
15:39So I want to try my hand in a bunch of different stuff.
15:42But I really feel like what I want to keep precious is what the audience, or specifically
15:51from Obsession, sees in me.
15:53And I want to respect that.
15:54And I want to hold on to that.
15:55Because I feel like there's so much that I have to offer this industry.
15:58Not just in acting.
15:59I want to direct.
15:59I want to write.
16:01And that starts off with, you know, gaining that trust.
16:05When you first got the script for Obsession, did your perception of the story change from
16:10when you first started to then seeing the film?
16:12Like, because, you know, a lot of people online have different interpretations of the
16:15film.
16:15Or they're, like, dissecting little parts of it.
16:17I'm just curious if you also felt that maybe when you first read the script versus after it
16:21came out.
16:22That's a good question.
16:24Whenever I first read the script, did I feel any differently than when it came out?
16:30Not necessarily.
16:31I feel like this is one of the first opportunities that whenever I got a script, I felt like
16:37I knew where I wanted to start and where I wanted to go with her.
16:41And it was the most confident that I had ever felt in a character that I was able to play.
16:46So with that being said, I really dove headfirst into how to portray this truthfully and effectively.
16:52And letting go of all of my anxieties and fears and just putting everything that I can into
16:57her.
16:58So I felt like the end product was very similar to what I had in the beginning because it
17:04was the first time.
17:05And I hope that I get this again where I was like, I knew front to back exactly what I
17:10wanted her to be.
17:11And then when Curry added, you know, language like Pearl, like watching the movie Pearl,
17:16and we'd be like, is this a pearlescent moment?
17:18Is this vocally where you want her to hit?
17:20Is this other, like we just had like a language like that where it would allow us to effectively
17:31communicate in those moments what we need.
17:32And so during that, I feel like it's very similar.
17:36So technically, no.
17:38But it is really, really cool.
17:40It's like reading a book and then watching it as a movie.
17:43But nothing's really ever changed other than a couple of things.
17:46I feel like one thing as well people are talking about is your facial expressions, the way
17:51you emote.
17:52Obviously, the frowny face has become huge.
17:54How did you come up with that?
17:55Was that something you came up with on the spot?
17:57Oh, that was Curry.
17:59That, like that's Curry.
18:03That's Curry.
18:04Barker.
18:05Was there anything that you specifically on the spot came up with that stuck?
18:08There was a scene where I felt like we played with this idea of if like a tree falls in
18:12the
18:12forest, do you hear it if Bear is not there to perceive her, does she exist?
18:16And I really wanted to add that layer to it of does she shut off?
18:21Is she still there?
18:22So there is a scene that I did have input on where I just completely made her face plain.
18:26And I felt like it effectively communicated to the audience where the real Nikki was and
18:31also what was happening in that moment.
18:33Because I never want I only got the audience with real Nikki a few times.
18:36And so I never wanted them to lose where she was.
18:39So I did have an opportunity in that moment.
18:42I'm trying to think if there was any lighter moments.
18:46Because it's such a light movie.
18:48Yes, it's so light.
18:50So light and comedic.
18:51You know, I thought about taking my kids.
18:55And babysitting.
18:56No.
18:57No, I don't think that there was.
18:59Because Curry had a very specific vision and that I really, really appreciated about him.
19:03You wanted to honor it.
19:04Yeah, because he's worked on this for so long.
19:07I mean, he talks about working at Starbucks and writing Obsession.
19:09And like, that sort of dedication and that vision then to have that opportunity as an actress.
19:13I am portraying what that vision is.
19:15I can add as much as I can.
19:17But at the end of the day, it is his vision.
19:19And I'm honored that he saw me and Nikki to be that person.
19:24Is there a scene that gets quoted back to you the most by fans?
19:27Oh, the no, no, no, no, don't do that.
19:31That one.
19:32Did you anticipate it was going to be that one?
19:34I feel like you might think it's one thing on set and then, you know, the other.
19:37Well, I never thought this movie was going to be as big as it is.
19:40Which is partially why I had the freedom to go where I did.
19:43And I hope to carry that freedom on with other projects.
19:46But no.

19:52I have that idea.

19:54How are you adjusting to fame?
19:56Oh, I love being at home with, like, my family.
20:02You still got to do dishes.
20:04Still the chores.
20:06You still got to do the chores.
20:07Yeah.
20:08Like, I think that no matter how big things might get for me, I want to keep a leveled
20:16sense of myself.
20:18Is everything super fun?
20:19Yeah.
20:20Who am I kidding to say?
20:22Absolutely not.
20:23I have opportunities that I've never did before.
20:25I mean, I've done, I've worked with artists that I've never had that opportunity with before.
20:30But I think in order to play my characters very authentic and very human-like, I also have
20:36to stay that way.
20:36So, as much as it might be enticing to look at stuff or to read certain things or whatever, I
20:44think it's my job to kind of not look at that because I don't want to let that anywhere near
20:50my head.
20:50That way I can play characters and people effectively.
20:54And also, I don't want to, I just don't think that that's healthy for me.
21:02But, again, like, it's fun.
21:04Like, these are moments that you dream about.
21:05So, having that healthy balance of, like, I'm in a super cute outfit and there's paparazzi there and, like, whatever.
21:11Going to Fashion Week.
21:12Fashion Week.
21:13Yeah.
21:14That's so much fun.
21:17And then leaving it there and then going home to do dishes.
21:22Like, there's, yeah, there's, like, a difference and, like, that's really fun.
21:24Was there one moment in particular that you're like, wow, people know who I am and this is crazy?
21:30Oh.
21:30Well, I have a place where me and my friends go play pool.
21:35And, like, it's not because, like, we're the best or, like, we'll put, like, we'll, we're, I have a speech
21:41impediment.
21:41Are you guys ready?
21:42We'll pull sharks.
21:44We are, it's not that we are pool sharks.
21:46It's that, like, it's just fun.
21:49And so, I think kind of having that space be something where if I go, then it's just, like, being
21:56recorded.
21:56And sometimes we'll go after being at the beach.
21:58So, like, I don't have, like, you're wearing beach attires, then it's not, you know.
22:03So, I think that part sucks.
22:05It feels invasive as well.
22:06It feels invasive.
22:06People recording all the time.
22:08And I can't even imagine how difficult that would be.
22:11And you're almost, like, always aware of it a little bit.
22:13Yeah.
22:13So, with that, I, because I kind of put it as, like, it's none of my business, which might seem
22:18like a strange thing.
22:19But that's just the way that I envision it in my brain of if they're recording me, it's none of
22:23my business that they're doing that.
22:24I'm just going to keep existing the way that I am.
22:26And I'm almost going to kind of, like, neglect it.
22:29And, like, if you stare at an object for too long, something that's over here doesn't exist.
22:32And that's kind of what I do.
22:34I just hope that their sense of morals and values will tell them when is appropriate to film and when
22:41isn't appropriate to film.
22:42Like, if I'm over a pool table or if, you know, there's any moment that could seem, you know, this
22:48doesn't seem like an appropriate time.
22:49Because I, too, remember being out and about.
22:52And let's say that, like, Britney Spears walked into an area.
22:56I would be like, oh, my God.
22:58You're definitely a Britney fan.
22:59That's your second Britney mention today.
23:01Britney, bitch.
23:02Sorry.
23:03But, yeah, I was like, she's a fan.
23:04I am a very big fan.
23:07Where, like, if Kesha.

23:09She was my first interview ever.

23:11I was, like, 16.

23:13Anyways, I digress.
23:14I love that woman.
23:15So, Kesha walks into a bar.

23:17Like, if Kesha walked into a bar and I was so far removed from this world and it seems so
23:23other, I, too, would want to take a photo or a video or whatever.
23:25But, again, I just hope that there's certain aspects that they leave to myself and vice versa.

23:35Of course, it's, like, something to get used to.
23:37One can only hope that, you know, people respect your privacy and your boundaries.

23:41Well, we obviously talked a little bit about you being a streamer.

23:44Did you work any other odd jobs before the success of Obsession?

24:04And so I left high school to work at the coffee shop and then I did the coffee shop, the

24:12and then I worked solely at the gym.

24:15What did you do at the gym?
24:16I worked at a gym called Orange Theory, and I loved the job.
24:20I think it was so much fun.
24:22I was a little office sales associate.
24:25And I actually believed in the product, so, yes.
24:30And then after that, I worked at a kitchen, and I think everybody should work at a restaurant.
24:33There was a cook there that I loved.
24:35He loved me.
24:37And he would give me food.
24:38He would give me food and be like, hey, sweetheart.
24:41I'd be like, hi.
24:42Can I have a thing?
24:43And then, of course, you can.
24:44He's not Brooklyn.
24:45I don't know why I did that.
24:45But it was perfect.

25:38Were you the type to like put on skits for your parents or like performances?

25:42Me and my cousin would do dance battles, but I think I've always-

25:46That's how we would perform for our parents.

26:31I think Millie Alcock also said something very beautiful that I really assimilate to,
26:38if that is the correct word to use, where it's kind of a place to hide and to be another
26:43person.
26:44And that's how I feel very similarly.
26:46I feel like there are aspects that I didn't understand of myself that I now understand because I played Nikki.
26:52And I had that confidence to do, like, to stand up.
26:58Nikki stood up for herself in so many different ways, as Wish Nikki and Real Nikki.
27:02And I felt like that was something I needed to learn.
27:04And so now I have that learning because I played her.
27:07What kind of person are you on set?
27:08Do you like to go home, like, after and decompress?
27:10Or do you, like, kind of get really into the character you're playing, where you, like, start to, like, feel
27:16what they're feeling?
27:17I think human emotion, like, your body doesn't realize a difference sometimes.
27:21But that's where, like, the video games come in and, like, my music comes in and my drive because those
27:26things I can control, right?
27:27Sometimes the emotions that the characters bring up, you don't have any control over because it's just human biology and
27:33it's human nature.
27:34And sometimes to have less control over that is to feel it freely.
27:38And that needs to happen in order to let that emotion pass through you like a river.
27:42But I think whenever it comes to what I do have control over in order to keep myself secure, it'll
27:50be my drives.
27:50It'll be my music.
27:52It'll be my video games.
27:53Or I really love, I've been watching Trixie and Katya since I was 17.
28:02And it started with them on Drag Race and then it moved to, uh, and then it moved to Queensview
28:08Watch and now The Baldwin Beautiful.
28:10And having that be a staple in every year just kind of brings yourself back and brings yourself back.
28:16So having those staples, like my car, Trixie and Katya, my music and different things like that allow for me
28:23to decompress because I don't like to take it home.
28:26How does it feel for you to already be in the Oscars conversation?
28:29Oh my God.
28:31I feel like I attach that in a very similar way of, um, it's an honor to be a part
28:37of the conversation just in general.
28:38And that's kind of what I want to take away from it.
28:41I want to obviously do as much as I possibly can to, um, still have this authenticity in my movies
28:50moving forward and have the audiences trust.
28:52And then to also be a part of this conversation is intense, but there's a part of my brain that
28:57is, um, just kind of having a safety net of if it doesn't happen, it doesn't mean that I didn't
29:06do a good job or it doesn't mean anything along those lines.
29:09Um, it's a different atmosphere and it's a different world that I am coming to understand and to be a
29:15part of the process and conversation this early on in my career.
29:18And with a movie such as obsession that has beat so many records and, um, to have the conversation that
29:24it's already having to me is more than enough.
29:28And so in my brain, I will leave it there.
29:30And if, you know, the critics want to revisit that and want to be like, Hey, no, you, we want
29:34you to be a part of this process.
29:35We want you to be a part of this.
29:37Um, cause we feel X, Y, and Z.
29:39Then I'll take that then.
29:41Um, but I mean, ah, there's a lot of conversation.
29:45It's very possible.
29:47It's very possible.
29:48So I know we don't want to like jinx, but we also maybe want to manifest a little, so it's
29:51okay to talk about it.
29:52A hundred percent.
29:53Yeah.
29:53I feel like the horror genre has really taken off and become more mainstream.
29:58Have you seen that change from like, even in the past five years, 10 years of like more people embracing
30:04horror, going to the cinema to watch it?
30:06So what's funny about this is the beginning of obsession.
30:08I was so sensitive and I feel like I have been my entire life, especially towards horror movies and something
30:13that obsession has done for me has healed that process.
30:15And now, cause I feel like the horror community has been the most welcoming out of anyone that I've ever
30:22been a part of.
30:23And I don't ever want to leave that.
30:24And so now I can look at horror in a different way.
30:25And I think because of the fact that it's so community based, it's such an experience.
30:30I mean, horror is unlike, I feel like, any other genre where it's such an experience where you go and
30:37it's visceral and you have this with your friends and you tell another person and it's twists and it's turns
30:40and it's whatever.
30:43And that you have with that community.
30:45So I feel like it's become more mainstream because it's less of a conversation in your house and it's less
30:50taboo.
30:51I mean, it's, it's now being seen in a different light.
30:54So then it's in theaters in a different way.
30:56As a fellow short girl, is it kind of nice that maybe people are a little bit afraid of you
31:02when they, are people afraid of you when they meet you maybe?
31:04It depends.
