Rubio meets Russian counterpart Lavrov in Manila for talks

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio met with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov in Manila on Thursday on the sidelines of the Asean meetings.
Rubio said the talks would include discussions on the war in Ukraine, with Washington aiming to play a constructive role in efforts to end the conflict. Earlier, he attended the Asean Regional Forum, where ministers were expected to call for peaceful resolutions to conflicts, including the escalating violence in the Middle East.
