00:00Shoppers in Bluewater were buzzing with excitement as they queued for the opening of a significantly
00:07larger store of one of the UK's leading clothing and homeware brands.
00:13Residents had travelled from across London and Kent, with many arriving before 9am.
00:20We have around 50 minutes to go now until the new flagship next door opens in Bluewater.
00:27Some people have been queuing since 5 in the morning, and all that is in the chance to
00:32try being one of the first 150 who will get a free next goodie bag.
00:36Well, I saw that a next door was opening this morning and thought I'd get in and get my
00:41chance of getting a goodie bag.
00:43Brittany told me it was going to open at half past 7 this morning, we're going on holiday
00:48tomorrow, so I'm up packing at 12, I've been up since 12 o'clock, haven't I?
00:53So she ran me a half past 4 and said get Daniel quick.
00:56So at that time we've got a bigger one here now, so yes, I think everyone's been raving
01:03for it now.
01:04It's needed it.
01:06Excited?
01:07Yeah.
01:08Yeah, I am actually.
01:10I love going to Next for the children's department, I've got a 5 and a 2 year old at home
01:15and so
01:15I'm looking forward to seeing what's in there today.
01:18Next's previous site was a third the size of the new one, allowing the company to be
01:24a new anchor brand to the Dartford Shopping Centre, taking over the space previously occupied
01:30by a house of Fraser.
01:32So the old store I think was just over 36,000 square foot so in comparison here is nearly
01:3985,000 square foot so the step change is massive.
01:43We're able to offer a much bigger offering of home, children's wear, women's wear and
01:50men's wear as well and a few brands into the shopping centre as well.
01:53And with the ribbon cut, the live DJ in full swing and residents free to browse, it was
02:03time for a bit of window shopping.
