00:00Samsung's second quarter results when it comes to their net, it's actually a beat, 71.2 trillion won.
00:06The estimate was for around 78 trillion won.
00:10We're also talking about their operating profit coming in at 89.49 trillion won.
00:16Now, these are the full results.
00:18Remember, we were expecting them after their preliminary quarterly operating profit came in.
00:24And broadly, these lines, so we're sort of holding steady with sales coming in at 171.5 trillion won.
00:33We want to see a little bit more break, a breakout from here when it comes to the divisions.
00:38But we will be very much focused on the memory profitability, the HBM demand, and even perhaps a little bit
00:45of their smartphone business because we have seen the weakness there.
00:49But returning to Anthony, as we get more lines from Samsung dropping at the moment, I mean, I mentioned it
00:56earlier, but this has been a stock that has soared with the Korean market.
01:00But at the same time, it's plunged as well, right?
01:03I mean, how high are the stakes for these investors going into these Korean semiconductor makers when we also saw
01:10the volatility immense in SK Hynix?
01:15Yeah, so Samsung is a very important kind of foundational stock in Korea because it also has the foundry business.
01:22It has the DRAM business in much bigger size than Hynix.
01:26So this kind of product mix should be helpful to Samsung.
01:29And we should listen to the earnings call and the analyst briefing afterwards to see whether they captured some of
01:35the huge increase in the DRAM price, which they are much more exposed to.
01:38Also, any kind of progress on the foundry business in competition with TSMC and how much business they're getting from
01:46custom silicon is going to be very interesting.
01:49And then finally, their capex.
01:50How much money are they going to spend?
01:52How confident are they that they're going to get that money back in terms of return?
01:57That is going to be very interesting.
01:58And lastly, we're going into a day where the retail has taken a big bath, right?
02:03So will they come in to buy this result?
02:05Will foreigners come in to buy this result is another question.
02:08We saw the Korean one bounce quite hard yesterday, actually, as foreign selling kind of slowed into what was a
02:14very deep downturn.
02:16So you saw foreign selling only come.
