00:00The Apple smart glasses will come WWDC of 2027.
00:04Talk a bit about what we know about the product, the approach, the timing, and its selling points.
00:12Yes, so if Apple does indeed at least give an initial preview, an initial announcement of the glasses during WWDC
00:18next year,
00:19that would suggest the company is looking to get buy-in from developers to make sure that their apps,
00:23as many apps as possible, would integrate and work well with these glasses.
00:27And our understanding is that the glasses wouldn't go on sale, wouldn't hit the market until later next year.
00:33But the developer show would be a good opportunity to get the creative juices flowing, so to speak, on the
00:38developer side.
00:41Your team has been so busy in the world of consumer electronics, consumer technology.
00:47Foldable phones is one big category, and I think you've been able to get hands-on with Samsung's Galaxy Z
00:53Fold 8.
00:54What are the team's impressions? What do we know?
00:56So is it just like any other foldable phone?
00:59Why do foldable phones matter?
01:01These are all big questions for Bloomberg Tech.
01:03Yes, so two of my colleagues had a chance to play with the Galaxy Z Fold 8.
01:07And I think what's notable about it is more the form factor, not just that it's a foldable,
01:11but it has a shorter squatter design that looks a lot like what we understand the upcoming foldable iPhone to
01:18look like,
01:18which, of course, it hasn't been announced, but based on our best understanding.
01:21And aside from it being kind of cute and definitely different, meaningfully different from normal smartphones,
01:28which have kind of hit a very incremental update cadence,
01:31I think it's harder for even regular people to be impressed by new smartphones.
01:35This definitely is different looking than most smartphones on the market.
01:39And just from a practical perspective, it is especially well suited to media consumption,
01:44including both looking at all the photos you have on your phone and watching videos.
01:49The aspect ratio is just better suited for both of those things.
01:54And Dana, real quick, remind us how much the Z Fold costs.
01:57It ain't cheap.
01:58Just short of $2,000.
02:01I think it's about $1,900 here in the U.S.
02:04So definitely not cheap, even by modern smartphone standards,
02:08which have undergone some price hikes across different brands.
02:11Thanks.
02:12Thanks.
