00:22Service, confirmed that a man in his 50s died in the crash, but did not publicly identify Hansard.
00:28Police said the motorcyclist was treated at the scene, but was pronounced dead a short time later.
00:33Authorities also said the area was preserved for examination by forensic collision investigators,
00:38while local traffic diversions remained in place. Hansard's management company,
00:43ATC Management, later confirmed his death in a statement. They said,

00:52of this morning following a road traffic accident in Dublin. The statement added that Hansard's
00:57family is deeply shocked and heartbroken by the tragic loss, and respectfully requested

01:07the scene. Hansard began his music career after leaving school at 13, performing on the streets
01:12of Dublin. In 1990, he formed the alternative rock band The Frames, which went on to release six
01:18studio albums and became one of Ireland's best-known rock groups. He also found success as one half of the
01:23folk duo Swell Season, alongside Czech singer Markita Erglova. In 2007, Hansard and Erglova starred
01:30together in the independent musical film, Once. Their song, Falling Slowly, won the Academy Award for
01:36Best Original Song that year, becoming one of the film's defining moments. The success of Once
01:42continued after its release, with the musical adaptation earning a Grammy Award for Best Musical
01:47Theater Album. Hansard later launched a solo career, releasing his debut album, Rhythm and Repose, in 2012.
01:54His second solo album, Didn't He Ramble?, received a Grammy nomination for Best Folk Album in 2015.
