00:02Apple is launching a new U.S. leasing program called Apple Upgrade in partnership with Klarna,
00:08allowing customers to lease an iPhone for up to two years, starting at $72.99 per month,
00:14according to CNBC. The program will be available online and in Apple retail stores after a soft
00:19credit check. Customers can also lease Apple Watches, Macs, and iPads. Some entry-level
00:25devices, such as the iPhone 16 and MacBook Neo, are excluded. At the end of the lease,
00:31users can return their device, purchase it with an additional payment or upgrade to a new model.
00:37Apple also said it is discontinuing its existing iPhone Upgrade program in the U.S.
00:42and transitioning customers to Apple Upgrade. The tech giant will report third-quarter earnings
00:47Thursday in Tim Cook's final earnings report before becoming executive chairman.
