00:05enormous destructive power. They are able to erase the coast, destroy roads, wash buildings,
00:10and even change the outline of the coastline. The first thought that comes to mind is to build a
00:15massive concrete wall. But the problem is that such walls take the whole blow on themselves.
00:21The whole ocean energy hits directly in the barrier and eventually destroys it, or washes
00:27the base. In 1950s, French engineers found another solution. Instead of fighting the sea directly,
00:33they created a concrete block with four conical leeches. When the wave rolls on such blocks,
00:38it does not hit the solid wall, but passes between them, whirls, loses speed, and gradually dissipates
00:43its energy. Tetrada redistribute the power of the wave, extinguish it, and protect the shore without
00:49destroying itself. But there is a reverse side. Near-tetrads need to be extremely careful. There
00:55many cases when people fell in between them and could not get out on their own. Rescuers have
