00:30The United States and Iran paused hostilities for a third night on Sunday as the warring sides
00:36looked to give peace talks another chance after nearly two weeks of consecutive strikes almost
00:41quashed a landmark peace deal signed last month. US officials addressing local media outlets said
00:47President Donald Trump is reportedly giving diplomacy a chance but warned that military
00:52assets are still moving into the region and that Trump is ready to act if no progress is made.
00:58Hostilities resumed after Washington accused Iran of targeting commercial vessels in the strategic
01:04strait of Hormuz, violating a memorandum of understanding signed mid-June.
01:09Iran retaliated by targeting US assets in the Gulf states and broader region including Jordan,
01:14and its proxies, namely Yemen's Houthis, moved to block shipping in the Red Sea ramping up pressure
01:21on reeling world economies in the US. On Sunday, an Iranian army spokesperson confirmed that Tehran
01:28also halted its retaliatory campaign amid ongoing diplomatic talks, but it too warned of severe
01:34consequences if the US altered course and restarted the fighting. Tehran is also in a diplomatic
01:40clash with Ukraine following a strike on an Iranian ship bound for Russia just days ago,
01:45which Kyiv says was transporting military cargo to the Kremlin, used to attack Ukrainian territory.
01:52Iran's Foreign Minister, Abbas Arakji, said the strike killed a sailor,

02:14The diplomatic rift deepened after Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Ismail Bakay
02:19warned that Bulgarian decision makers must bear responsibility for hosting a US aerial refueling
02:25aircraft. The statement follows a public message from US President Donald Trump,
02:30who thanked Bulgarian Prime Minister Roman Radev for supporting the deployment despite Iranian
02:35threats. This marks the third warning issued by Tehran, which claims the move supports US
02:41military operations against Iran. Despite attempts by Bulgarian Defense Minister
02:46Dimitar Stajanov to downplay the risk of a missile attack, the situation remains tense at home.
02:53Bulgaria's parliament approved the relocation of US aircraft to the Besmer military airbase,
02:58sparking protests from local residents who feared the area could become a regional target.

03:48official CSD route, a large number of people were still gathered just a few hundred meters away as
03:53the event was ending when the attack occurred on Saturday night. The attacker not only used the
03:58van as a weapon but is said to have gone after people with a machete afterwards. German authorities
04:04declared the attack was Islamist in nature and Chancellor Friedrich Merz called it an attack
04:09on society and freedom. More than 320,000 people have been forced to flee their homes across France
04:19in Spain as a series of wildfires continue to wreak havoc across parts of southern Europe. In
04:26southwestern France, a fire is currently still raging in the Gironde area near Bordeaux with flames as
04:31close as 15 kilometers from the major city. The vacuaries are being housed in makeshift shelters
04:37and exhibition centers and sport halls across the region. Thousands of firefighters are still
04:42working to contain the blaze. In Spain, some of the fires near Madrid were slowly contained. Some
04:49evacuees who had fled reportedly were allowed to return home on Monday. In the coastal region of
04:55Valencia, however, some 15,000 people were evacuated as a new fire broke out. A man was killed in
05:01Manises, marking Spain's first recorded death in the latest fires. According to weather forecasts,
05:08temperatures are expected to rise dramatically in most of the affected regions over the next few
05:13days. Scientists warn that drought combined with heat waves, which are both intensified by
05:21human-caused climate change, are creating the conditions for fires to spread rapidly.
05:32French, Spanish and EU leaders are looking at how to respond to the wildfires raging across
05:38southern Europe. Places have already consumed more than 80,000 hectares in Spain and over 42,000
05:45hectares in France. Both fires remain out of control and have forced more than 320,000 people to leave

05:59against wildfires.
06:17Meanwhile, French President Emmanuel Macron shared an inter-ministerial crisis meeting on wildfires on Monday.
06:24The fire in Gironde has been stabilized but is not yet under control, the French interior minister said.
06:31We are confronted in Gironde by a phenomenon which is totally inédit.
06:34Europe's firefighting capacity is struggling to keep pace with increasingly intense wildfires in Spain and France,
06:41the European Commission said Monday, despite one of the EU's largest ever emergency responses.
06:47The Commission has mobilized seven aircraft and four helicopters to France, as well as six aircraft
06:54and three ground firefighting teams to Spain through the EU's civil protection mechanism.
06:59In addition, Brussels is moving to expand its firefighting fleet for future emergencies.
07:10New clashes between police and protesters who opposed the ambitious tourism project of Trump's son-in-law Jared
07:16Kushner in Albania broke out in Tirana. For the 57th day in a row, protesters gathered in the Albanian
07:24capital to express their opposition to what they call an environmental crime. They threw eggs and tomatoes at
07:30police officers who in turn made arrests. People are tired of the current corrupt system in Albania
07:37and they want change. People have seen how things have gone for us, not just because of strategic
07:43investments but also because of everyday life in Albania. All these people here, they're not ignorant.
07:49They know what's actually happening in Albania and they're tired of corruption. It's that simple.
07:54Rule of law in Albania. That's all we want. The protesters accuse the government of selling
08:01off the country's wealth and of being mirrored in scandals. At the same time, they accuse the
08:07government of attempting to control the judiciary and of creating a legal framework that serves the
08:13personal interest of government officials. The Albanian government maintains that the tourism plan aims to
08:21revitalize the wider region, attract high-end tourism and contribute to the country's bid for EU membership.
08:33Greece's Mount Olympus and France's D-Day beaches were among several sites added to the World Heritage list on Sunday.
08:42The World Heritage inscription of Mount Olympus, the mythical home of the 12 Olympian gods,
08:48rewarded a 12-year effort by Greece to secure recognition for its tallest mountain as a mixed
08:53cultural and natural heritage site. Rising almost 3,000 meters from a base near sea level,
09:00the mountain was believed to be the throne of Zeus, king of the gods, while also harboring rich biodiversity.
09:07The French designation covers the five Normandy landing beaches, Omaha, Utah, Sword, Gold and Juneau,
09:14where more than 150,000 Allied troops came ashore on June 6, 1944 to liberate Western Europe from Nazi occupation
09:22during World War II. The sites contain extensive remnants from German fortifications and bomb-scarled
09:29landscapes to Allied harbor structures and sunken vessels. Also inscribed were Italy's historic theaters of
09:36the Marche region, the ancient Japanese capitals of Asuka and Fujiwara, and South Sudan's Boma
09:42budding Gilo migratory landscape, among others.
