00:00Feeling lost in the chaos of American politics?
00:03Let's break it down in a way that actually makes sense.
00:08The logic of the current US administration looks like this.
00:12They are acting like crisis managers trying to save a company from bankruptcy.
00:18For them, it's clear that the US is heading in that direction.
00:22After all, interest payments on the national debt had already surpassed the country's military budget.
00:30But they don't see the world through the lens of morality, justice or compassion.
00:35Instead, they approach it like corporate efficiency experts.
00:40Cutting costs, conducting full financial audits,
00:45cancelling contracts that are no longer profitable,
00:48firing the personnel responsible for the current situation,
00:52strong-arming suppliers.
00:54The problem is that the country is not a company.
00:58Its purpose is not to generate profit.
01:01A well-run nation should function more like a national park,
01:05where the priority is maintaining balance,
01:07ensuring the well-being of all species,
01:10preventing disease and making sure no group dominates or destroys another.
01:16Right now, though, they are trying to turn the national park
01:21into a profitable amusement park.
01:25Bulldozers plow through old-growth pines,
01:29crushing squirrels and raccoons along the way.
01:32Meanwhile, they turn a blind eye to the chemical plant poisoning the river upstream.
01:38Because, hey, that factory can bring in money for park renovations.
01:43Or maybe even help build a new attraction.
01:48But a national park is not about greatness, profit or proving that it's the best park in the world.
01:55Its priority is life itself, its creatures and the fragile ecosystem they depend on.
02:02An amusement park, no matter how much money it makes, is not a place to live.
02:07Over time, it will crumble, the founder's statue will chip away,
02:12the paint will fade, the rides will rust.
02:16A national park, on the other hand, is something entirely different.
02:20It endures because it is life.
02:23It doesn't need profit to exist.
02:25It provides a home for countless living beings,
02:29each playing its own role in the ecosystem.
02:31It is obvious that America needs reform.
02:35The question is, what exactly are we building?
02:38Are we sure we are using the right blueprint?
02:43And most importantly,
02:45does the person in charge share the same priorities as the gentle butterflies,
02:50the quick-footed elks,
02:52the curious squirrels
02:53and the sturdy grizzly bears?
03:00The first time is
