00:06There's Mike Vrabel today on his expectation that Christian Gonzalez, not just in camp and with the team,
00:11but Vrabel says he's expecting him to participate.
00:15And as Maz pointed out earlier, the implication there is that that doesn't mean just stretching on the sidelines.
00:21I mean, participate, participate, which would really surprise me.
00:25But that's just a way to get into, Chris, your thoughts on where they currently stand with Christian Gonzalez.
00:30Yeah, it was interesting.
00:31I was slightly surprised by what Vrabel said in terms of the expectation that he'll do all the drills
00:37and be a normal participant at training camp without the contract.
00:41I mean, does that indicate maybe they feel like they're closer on the contract?
00:44We also saw what it was like for him at mandatory minicamp, and that's different.
00:49I still have a little bit of a hard time getting myself to the point where they make him the
00:56highest paid corner in the NFL.
00:59And especially if it's not just by like a million dollars, if it's by like two million or three million
01:04or four million,
01:05because I don't I think as much as they like the player and I think they really, really like the
01:09player.
01:10I question a little bit whether deep down Vrabel's football philosophy requires them to have the highest paid corner in
01:19the league.
01:19You know, I wrote this today and as much as he's done to differentiate himself from Bill Belichick and he's
01:24a completely different guy.
01:25But I really do think he made a concerted effort last year to make sure that this was a new
01:30era,
01:30that these players weren't saddled with anything that happened during the Brady Belichick era.
01:35I do think he shares something with Belichick in common, which is that feeling of,
01:40OK, I can use scheme and coaching to compensate for talent if I have to.
