00:00All right, we're going to kick off this media conference with a question from Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful.com.
00:05Scott, tonight we saw talent from Canada, Mexico, Wales, and the U.S. all represented on Mayhem.
00:11How important is it that Maple Leaf Pro Wrestling feels bigger than any one region or country?
00:16Yeah, look, I think we've said from day one that while we're a Canadian company at our core,
00:22we want to feature the very best from the world.
00:24And I think you saw a great example of that here tonight.
00:27There's talent from all over the world that's coming here and competing in MLP rings,
00:31and that's the only way that we're going to be able to show that Canadian talent truly is world-class,
00:36because to be world-class, you have to go in there and compete with the very best in the world,
00:41and we saw that here tonight.
00:43Next question.
00:44First of Action successfully defended the Tag Team Championships tonight
00:47and continue carrying themselves like they own the place.
00:50How much power are they starting to gain inside Maple Leaf Pro Wrestling?
00:55I mean, look, I mean, they're aptly named.
00:57They're the first faction in company history, so that one is true to its core.
01:02And, I mean, look, you win the titles by defeating the world-renowned Good Brothers.
01:06That kind of helps cement your claim.
01:08And then they went out there tonight and beat two amazing luchadors
01:12from the greatest lucha libre company in history, CMLL.
01:16So I think that, you know, right now the first faction is definitely riding high.
01:23Rohan Raja officially challenged Stu Grayson today.
01:27After everything we've seen over the last two weeks, does this rivalry feel inevitable now?
01:33Yeah, I mean, it certainly seems like from after what we've seen,
01:37this train has left the station and it's on its way.
01:41Last week was obviously a big statement from Rohan Raja,
01:47and then he followed up tonight making that challenge.
01:49Now, look, Stu's, you know, sitting at home tonight.
01:51He's a competitor.
01:52He wanted to be here.
01:53But, you know, medical protocol, he's not here.
01:57I think we've got a good chance of seeing Stu next week or real soon.
02:01And I'll sit here with everybody else and look forward to getting his answer.
02:07Scott, Dani Luna made an immediate impression tonight,
02:10but it already feels like she's on a collision course with Giselle Shaw.
02:13What stood out to you the most about Dani's debut?
02:17I mean, look, Dani Luna's a super talented athlete.
02:21She's a powerhouse.
02:22I said it before, she reminds me of a young Jordan Grace.
02:26And the way that Dani can move and combine athleticism and power is truly impressive.
02:33I mean, look, I signed Dani to bring her into TNA Wrestling.
02:37And then when she hit the free agent market, I knew that we wanted her here in MLP.
02:43And, I mean, I think we've talked about how it's really going to take somebody
02:46to shake up the women's division and get Giselle Shaw's attention.
02:50And I think Dani Luna did that tonight.
02:53Scott, Johnny TV finally stepped into an MLP ring tonight.
02:57Beyond his personality and the entertainment factor,
02:59what did you learn about him as a competitor?
03:02I mean, look, I've got a long history with Johnny TV, Johnny Impact, John Morrison,
03:08and the million other names that he's gone by.
03:11And, look, I think the world over knows who Johnny TV is.
03:15He's had a great career.
03:16He's had a great history.
03:17And he's still going strong.
03:18I got a chance recently to watch him main event in one of the most famous wrestling arenas in history,
03:25Arena Mexico in Mexico City for CMLL.
03:29And when I saw the way he's still moving, I was like, that's a guy that we need up here.
03:33And we didn't take it easy on him.
03:36His first night in, he's in there with TJP, who's a fantastic athlete,
03:40somebody else who's very fluent in the Lucha Libre style.
03:43And I think you saw why Johnny TV is a former world champion and definitely a threat anywhere he goes.
03:49Next question.
03:50The potential of a title versus title match between Stu Grayson and Rohan Raja feels bigger than championships.
03:56Does it feel like two completely different visions for Maple Leaf Pro Wrestling are beginning to clash?
04:01Yeah, look, I don't think there's a lot of similarities between Rohan Raja and his approach and Stu Grayson.
04:07And his approach, they're both great champions in their own right.
04:11And, I mean, clearly, you know, we've seen there the challenge has been set out there.
04:16I'm sure it's a match that the fans want to see.
04:19And, you know, it's a match we've got to take a good, long, hard look at and seeing how we
04:23make that possible.
04:26Two episodes into Mahir, what rivalry is becoming more personal than you expected?
04:34Boy, I mean, I think, I mean, Stu Grayson and Rohan Raja, you know, two guys that, you know, we
04:43sort of thought were on separate paths, right?
04:45Both champions, both could stake their claim.
04:47Obviously, that's not enough for Rohan.
04:50And he's gone directly for Stu.
04:52So, I mean, that one, I think, definitely got very personal very quick.
04:56This question was sent to us by Mike Johnson from PW Insider.
05:00Scott, if you had to pick one person whose stock rose the most tonight, who are you talking about tomorrow
05:06morning?
05:07I mean, look, I think there's a lot of great athletes here and a lot of people that have really
05:13stepped up and are making the most out of this opportunity.
05:16But I have to say that I think Dani Luna has really, like, came out of the pack.
05:21And, like, she's done exactly what we expected her to do, was come out here, be impressive, and show that
05:26she's one of the very best.
05:27Last question.
05:30We're only two episodes into Mayhem, but the pressure already feels different.
05:35What situation inside, I believe, Pro Wrestling concerns you the most right now?
05:41I mean, what concerns me the most?
05:43I mean, look, we're just in the first steps.
05:45We're in episode two out of a 12-week road to Northern Rising.
05:50You know, we've got everything leads and points to October 3rd there in Toronto.
05:55You know, Mattamy Entertainment Centre, you know, Maple Leaf Gardens in our hearts.
05:59And, I mean, I don't know.
06:01I just think we're going to see a lot develop over these coming weeks.
06:04I think we're two for two in delivering great episodes and great action.
06:08I think we've showcased people from around the world.
06:11And I think we've got to watch it play out here over the coming weeks.
06:15All right.
06:16That's all the time we have for tonight.
06:17Thanks, everyone.
06:18All right.
