00:00I've got a thousand applications. They all kind of look alike. I don't necessarily know if any
00:04of those who applied are super interested in the job or just auto applied and have never heard of
00:09me. I don't know if they're like highly qualified or not even at all because the resume all kind of
00:15look the same now. And so it's this big signal, I would call signal problem. Like there used to be
00:19a lot of signal in each job application. Like when I graduated college, I went and printed resumes
00:24and like put them in envelopes and mailed them to people. It took some effort. And so the fact
00:29that somebody got that in the mail meant something. But now I see a thousand or 2,000, like it
00:35doesn't
00:35really tell me anything about their intentionality when I get the application. And then when I open
00:38up and look at it, it doesn't really tell me a whole lot about the person because they all kind
00:42of look the same. That's really the struggle from the employer side is like trying to find
00:46signal, trying to find smaller needles in an ever larger haystack.
