00:43Can you share an experience or an episode that's particularly fun or inspiring, regarding
00:50your career during Ducati?
00:54An episode, well okay that's I just picked one off the top of my head, I guess it was
01:01I'll say Silverstone, it was raining, I crashed the bike two times, but luckily I managed to
01:09keep the bike running and I remember whenever I crossed the start finish line Davide Tardotsi
01:16was hanging over the wall telling me to be calm and uh so I crossed the line in fifth place,
01:23but also I knew after the race I knew when I got back into the box I was going to
01:28be in trouble
01:29off Davide and and Mio Mali Akim.
01:33So what changed from uh your first World Ducati Weeks uh to the one that you are living now?
01:41I think one of my first World Ducati Weeks I was still with uh the GSE British Superbike
01:46team so my face was quite new to a lot of the people here so from back then being unknown
01:54until now in my career all the time with uh the factory racing team of course that changes things and
02:01it puts your face in the public eye of the Italian people so uh it made me of course much
02:07more
02:07popular and so now the people still remember but we're just a lot older.

04:40Bueno io ovviamente per me la moto migliore è l'OV4 la Panigale è provata in pista è proprio un
04:48performance che si avvicina molto a una moto da gara
04:52Io ho iniziato con la Panigale a svilupparla proprio è stato molto difficile perché non è che ha partito molto
04:58performante però
04:58provarla adesso è un piacere perché ti ricorda più una moto da gara che una moto da strada
05:05e proprio con che conozco la gente che ha lavorato, ingegneri, le novità mi raccontano dopo quando ti metti in
05:12pista
05:13non voglio dire che te lo fa facile però riesce a guidare a un livello superiore quello che ti puoi
05:20immaginare
05:21e dopo per me non so mi piace, mi piacciono, vabbè la Ducati mi piacciono bastante però dipende perché
05:28la più versatile è quella che mi piace più la multistrada sicuramente perché non viaggio la V2
05:34adesso la Desert X perché ogni tanto anche faccio fuoristrada
05:40la moto particolarmente che non è che mi piace più dire la meglio però per il mio uso è quella

05:46lei chiaramente ha portato al limite la 1098 R quando era al limite cosa le trasmetteva la moto?
05:57ovviamente alla fine è tutta una combinazione da messa a punto, del lavoro, da te stesso e delle gomme
06:03le gomme è la parte più fondamentale
06:08allora quando vai al limite soprattutto quando è andato con la Ducati perché io avevo la bicilindrica
06:13che era molto diversa da tutto il resto è una molto particolare che gira molto in basso
06:18che devia approfittare la copia sotto, cambiare prima però per me è stato un grande successo
06:23abbiamo vinto il mondiale e mi ho trovato benissimo con quella moto
06:27era un telaio traliccio che non c'entra niente con quello adesso però alla fine era tutta una combinazione
06:33che con quelle gomme che c'era no la faceva una moto molto molto molto efectiva no va beh io
06:38mi sono
06:39innamorato con la moto e mi ho trovato molto bene adesso ho cambiato tanto e quello che senti adesso è
06:45che è molto più percorsa
06:47molta più velociità riesce facendo meno vai più veloce però credo che come prodotto ha migliorato tantissimo no ha
07:00è stata un'evoluzione grandissima da quel ricordo che aveva io a quello che c'è adesso
07:05l'episodio più divertente che è successo in Ducati quindi dietro le quinte o nel box
07:14il racconto è una più simpatica perché c'era quando abbiamo iniziato il MotoGP mancava un po' di carico davanti
07:22e dopo ci è venuto Gineto che adesso lavora in onda molto divertente e ha messo una catena
07:29proprio la catena di ferro attaccata davanti con un po' di nastro
07:34e mi ha detto no no sto mettendo un po' più di carico al solo l'anteriore no e dopo
07:39era vero mi ha messo la catena lì e
07:41va beh questo stato ci sto per fare un test o una piccola prova no però questo per esempio con

07:49non so potrei raccontartene tante altre no però alla fine è stato effettivo no dopo ovviamente
07:56da lì abbiamo pensato a fare altro però c'erano delle uscite delle volte che non mi aspettate

08:56Ducati is very close to me
08:59I had all my success with Ducati
09:02I played a small part in the history of Ducati
09:05so yeah to be here celebrating 100 years with them is very special
09:10so you won four world titles
09:14what is the victory that you love the most?
09:20oh god there's so many
09:22oh so many maybe in Brands Arch in 95 when I won both race
09:29the first time the big crowds have come back to the races in England again since the days of Barry
09:35Sheen
09:35and I never won a race this circuit before until this day it was very special yeah it was
09:43this one for me just about shades it but there were some big races here in Misano the double race
09:49win and also Monza
09:51I won both race in 99 which was special
09:53so a moment that you remember that was very special with the team
09:58winning my first World Superbike Championship in Australia the last race of the year in 94 was
10:05yeah this was a special time yeah the first time I win the World Championship

10:10what's the best piece of advice you had that changed your career?
10:17I just never give up and keep believing in yourself and chasing your dreams never give up

10:26me I believed in me I was very confident and I was yeah I had the self-belief that I
10:32could be the best and be world champion and with hard work and a little bit of luck it came

10:37and if you could give an advice to a young rider what would you say to him?
10:44yeah I would say never give up on your dreams keep pushing hard and your dreams can come true

10:53the 916 for sure yeah yeah yeah definitely it's the best bike Ducati ever made for sure
