00:00I enjoy creating 3D nail art because I think it really gives personalities and really goes
00:09out of comfort zone. I think it's really cool that this 3D nail art has been very trendy.
00:17Hi, I'm Eri. Today I'm going to show you how I do 3D nail art. I started doing nails when
00:24I was
00:24in Japan. I used to go to this nail salon and then the lady who used to do my nails
00:30there was a very
00:32famous nail technician in Japan and I told her I was really interested in doing nails. She decided
00:39to teach me so I could work at her nail salon. I worked with JLo, Lizzo, Issa Rae. Those 3
00:47people
00:48have been a big part of my career. Today we are going to do 3D gel nail art.
00:57Hi, nice to meet you. Are you ready to get your nails done? Yes, I'm so ready.
01:03I'm Jordyn and today I'm getting 3D acrylic nails. I actually don't typically get my nails done often
01:10anymore. I recently got a puppy so every time I have my nails done she's always ripping them off
01:18and it's so painful. Now as my puppy is older I feel as if I can start getting my nails
01:25done again
01:25because she's all done with her teething phase.
01:35First thing I do I start with the preparations. It includes cleaning cuticles and cutting nails,
01:43filing them. Next I use extensions. We extend the nails and file them. Pretty much create the shape we
01:52want to do. After we shape, I used clear gel. The differences between acrylic and gel X are the
02:03extensions tips are already made. It's already sculpted. So you attach them onto the nails with gel.
02:13So we used 4 different colors. They are all jelly nails. I basically put all the colors on the nails
02:22together and since it's jelly nails they are very easy to blend. So you use the brush and basically
02:28blend all the colors together and create the tie-dye look. I'm really into jelly nails especially in the
02:38summertime because it gives the very clear see-through look. I used hard clear gel to mold 3D art on
02:51the
02:51side-dye look. I used to make it look. I used to make it look. I used to make it
02:58look. I used to add
02:59some kind of swirl on top of it to make it even more like the bottom of the ocean.
03:08And we added a little bit of air dusting chrome powder and I applied a non-white top coat over
03:16the 3D.
03:17That's a very important part especially for chrome powder. It has to be non-white top coat. If we use
03:23a regular
03:24top coat under the UV light it cures but it's not completely dry so it's still sticky. And cure them
03:31and done.
03:35My manicure went really well. We had so much fun. We created something super cute. Something Jordan really,
03:43really liked. The different colors bring in different elements that you see in nature and so sometimes
03:49when I look at my nails I think of the ocean. Sometimes I think of fire. Sometimes I think of
03:54the forest. I cannot stop feeling them. It feels weird having to adjust the way that I pick things up
04:03or even use my phone but I feel like myself again. I feel like I have my spirit back. To
04:08make your manicure
04:09last longer, one, don't use your nails as tools. Don't open your boxes using your nails and stuff. And
04:16two, use a lot of cuticle oils. The cuticle dryness is going to lift the nails. I would absolutely get
04:24a
04:243D design again. It's really fun to touch, to look at, to see different light reflect off of it. It's
04:32definitely something that I would do again.
