00:01A couple of years ago, I was under so much stress that both my physical and
00:07mental health were at risk. So I had to rethink how I managed my life and work.
00:12I had to be deliberate about caring for my mind and became more conscious of all
00:18the things that affect my body. Since our culture asks a lot of us, constantly
00:22saying go, go, hustle, hustle, I used to feel guilty about taking a vacation or
00:28relaxing. I felt like I needed to use every bit of my time, but I realized that
00:34I was living my life around other people's expectations of me instead of
00:37what was best for me. When my thinking is off track, I get insecure, I start shaming
00:43myself, everything slows down, and I feel like I'm trying to think through
00:47quicksand. I realized that the way I care for my body greatly affects my mind
00:53because it's one big connected system. Problems with my gut can trigger
00:58emotional shifts and mood swings, so I take Garden of Life probiotics to keep
01:02my gut healthy. The belly is like a second brain, so it's important that my
01:06digestive system remains strong. Maybe gut feelings aren't just a metaphor. To keep
01:12both my mind and body in balance, I work really hard to prioritize movement, cooking
01:17healthy meals, and sleeping eight hours a night. I also keep my electronics use
01:22between specific hours so I don't slip into continuous texts, checking the
01:27news, and tons of social media scrolling. Now I have some non-negotiables. I don't
01:33sacrifice on sleep or exercise. I work on saying no a lot because I know my
01:41limitations are there to help me feel my best. It's not about achieving perfection,
01:46but doing the small and consistent things that focus on my emotional well-being.
01:51Because the more I nourish my mental health, the more I can succeed.
