00:05My earliest memory, I remember being in a sandbox, and I'm holding a fistful of sand.
00:11So I ate the sand, and as it hit my tongue, I just remember thinking, nope, bad choice.
00:26I really admire people who think for themselves.

00:34Those are three women I really admire.
00:37I've always said I'm an actress first, and I'm an artist.
00:40So I recently tested myself by doing a one-woman show at the public theater called Grounded.
00:45It was 75 minutes on stage by myself.
00:48Like, I'm not even sure I thought I could do it.
00:51And I'm proud of myself for that, because I could do the safe thing, and I took a risk,
00:55and I feel like I'm a better artist because of it.
01:00Rules.
01:01When I was younger, the one that I loved breaking was, you can't do that because you're a girl.
01:06As soon as I heard that one, I was like, I'm going to do it.
01:10I'm going to do it better than you ever thought I could.
01:14If I'm going to give advice, it's figure out who you are.
01:17Forgive yourself the failures that you experience along the way to becoming yourself.
01:22They're so important for who you are, who you will be.
01:26They're what give you integrity.
01:28They're what give you truth, because just as important as knowing who you are,
01:31it's knowing who you're not, and who you're not willing to be.
01:35One of the things I loved about this shoot is that it's been on top of so much rubble,
01:38and I feel like so many moments in my life have disintegrated into rubble,
01:42and you just were like, okay, let's climb back up, let's figure it out.
