ದೆಹಲಿಯ ಜಂತರ್ ಮಂತರ್‌ನಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆಯುತ್ತಿರುವ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳ ಚಳವಳಿಗೆ ಹಿರಿಯ ಸಮಾಜ ಸೇವಕ ಅಣ್ಣಾ ಹಜಾರೆ ಬೆಂಬಲ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಪಡಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳ ಮೇಲಿನ ಲಾಠಿಚಾರ್ಜ್‌ ಅನ್ನು ಖಂಡಿಸಿರುವ ಅವರು, ಕೇಂದ್ರ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ ಸಚಿವರ ರಾಜೀನಾಮೆ ಬೇಡಿಕೆಗೆ ಸಾಥ್ ನೀಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಪ್ರತಿಭಟನಾ ನಿರತ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳ ಮೇಲೆ ಪೊಲೀಸರು ನಡೆಸಿದ ಲಾಠಿಚಾರ್ಜ್‌ ಅನ್ನು ಅವರು ತೀವ್ರವಾಗಿ ಖಂಡಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳ ಮೇಲೆ ಬಲಪ್ರಯೋಗ ಮತ್ತು ಲಾಠಿಪ್ರಹಾರ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದು ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣವಾಗಿ ತಪ್ಪು, ನಾನು ದೇಶಾದ್ಯಂತ ಸಾಲು ಸಾಲು ಹೋರಾಟಗಳನ್ನು ನಡೆಸಿದ್ದರೂ ಎಂದಿಗೂ ಇಂತಹ ಸನ್ನಿವೇಶ ಎದುರಾಗಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ' ಎಂದು ಸರ್ಕಾರದ ನಡವಳಿಕೆಯ ವಿರುದ್ಧ ಬೇಸರ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಪಡಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

Veteran social activist Anna Hazare has extended his support to the students protesting at Jantar Mantar in Delhi. He strongly criticized the police lathi charge on the protesting students and termed the use of force against them as completely wrong. Hazare also backed the demand for the resignation of the Union Education Minister.
Speaking on the issue, Anna Hazare said that despite leading numerous protests across the country throughout his life, he had never witnessed such a situation. He expressed disappointment over the government's handling of the protest.
