00:03This is a really cool modern update on a retro-do.
00:06You said uptake.
00:14Hi, I'm Michael Galengas.
00:16And I'm Tara from Refinery29.
00:18Today Michael is going to show me how to get some glam waves going.
00:22Yes, I am.
00:23Start this look by taking a deep side parting to the back of your crown.
00:27Then section off to just about your temple on the opposite side.
00:31So you're creating a triangle section on top.
00:32Clip this hair up and out of the way.
00:35Bring the rest of the hair back and secure into a low tight bun.
00:42Once you have the bun secured, bring the top section down.
00:45Take an inch thick section from your hairline all the way back to your crown.
00:49Split that in two and work with the front section first.
00:52Give the hair one twist towards your face at the root area.
00:55And using your iron, wrap the hair up and away from the face.
00:59Twisting the hair as you wrap around the iron.
01:02Once you've heated the curl up, release it off the iron and let it just hang until it's completely cool.
01:08Continue with this method all the way down until all the hair is picked up.
01:16Using a wide tooth comb, start at the bottom and work your way up brushing out each curl.
01:20Comb enough to bring them together into one solid mass.
01:24Once you have your hair combed out, secure with a bob pin.
01:27It works best to place your bob pin just behind the ear, securing the ends of the hair.
01:31Finish the look with a light holding hair spray.
01:34This will help secure your look, add sheen and keep the waves in place all day long.
01:38And this is Modern Take on a Retro Dew.
