00:06Welcome to Mojo Plays, and today we're looking at the most difficult bosses to defeat in The
00:10Legend of Zelda spin-off games. Time to give these spin-offs the attention they haven't yet
00:14received, but absolutely deserve. Before we continue, we publish content all week long,
00:19so be sure to subscribe and ring the bell to get notified of our latest videos. The
00:37Battle of the Beetle Lord Deathbug is mechanically quite simple, especially compared to the difficulty
00:41among other bosses within the Zelda series. Found early in freshly picked Tingle's rosy
00:46rupee land, Beetle Lord attacks slowly and leaves openings for players to counterattack. Most of the
00:51challenge comes from the game's unusual control scheme and awkward combat timing rather than the
00:56difficulty of the Beetle Lord itself, and let's be real, we also spend most of the battle laughing
01:00at its silly name instead of focusing on strategies. While memorable because of its bizarre design,
01:05the battle isn't too complex or aggressive, and thank god because imagine losing a battle
01:10to a boss called Beetle Lord Deathbug.
01:19Ganon. Link, the faces of evil.
01:27The final battle against Ganon in Link the faces of evil is difficult primarily because of the
01:33game's design limitations. The Philips' CDI controls are stiff, Link's attacks have noticeable delay,
01:38and enemy hitboxes can feel inconsistent during combat. The actual confrontation with Ganon is
01:43surprisingly anticlimactic, he simply walks back and forth while launching flaming skulls at the player.
01:48The real challenge is that the boss fight takes place after a lengthy final stage,
01:53meaning players are often without enough resources or health to power through.
01:57Ganon is defeated instantly by throwing the Book of Corridi at him which traps him inside its pages.
02:01Ganon's battle in Zelda Wand of Gamelon is almost the same. Zelda lights the room and defeats him with
02:06a single strike from the Wand of Gamelon. The reused boss fight was a result of the games being developed
02:11together, not deeper gameplay design.
02:20Calamity Ganon. Hyrule Warriors, Age of Calamity.
02:29Everyone's favourite and least rage baiting combination. High damage output with constant area attacks.
02:35Calamity Ganon uses wide melee swings, laser blasts, shock waves and ranged attacks that can cover large
02:41sections of the battlefield at once, which is difficult considering we need to stand somewhere.
02:47The fight becomes harder during later phases when Calamity Ganon chains attacks together more
02:51aggressively, meaning if you haven't mastered perfect dodges and weak point attacks you're pretty much
02:56done for. However, the game provides several advantages including healing items, special attacks
03:01and multiple playable characters. Because of these tools experienced players can find it easier to
03:06recover and do have a better chance of defeating this boss battle.
03:17Go Maracas, Cadence of Hyrule.
03:22Go Maracas is a rhythm based encounter in Cadence of Hyrule which is considered quite difficult because it
03:28demands precise movement alongside musical timing. Constantly shifting side to side on the battlefield
03:33while attacking rapidly, players are forced to react quickly without breaking rhythm. Since combat
03:38and Cadence of Hyrule is tied directly to the beat, mistimed movement can leave players vulnerable
03:42to repeated damage. Go Maracas also punishes players who rely too heavily on defensive positioning,
03:48as the arena limits safe movement space during multiple phases of the battle. Unlike traditional
03:52Zelda bosses where players can pause and wait for openings, this battle requires continuous engagement
03:57and victory depends on maintaining absolute rhythm accuracy while tracking Go Maracas attack patterns
04:02simultaneously throughout the fight.
04:10Malice Lynel Hyrule Warriors Age of Calamity
04:18The Malice Lynel is significantly harder than standard enemies in Hyrule Warriors Age of Calamity because of its
04:24speed, damage output and aggressive attack chains. Malice Lynel can rapidly close its distance using
04:30charging attacks and wide melee swings that are difficult to interrupt once initiated, making
04:34defensive timing and perfect dodges extremely important. It's also quite difficult to heal or reposition
04:40safely as your movement as a player is tracked quite well throughout the battle and in addition, Malice Lynel
04:45pressures players constantly at close range, which is wildly frustrating.
04:48Malice Lynel A worthy adversary
04:53Forbidden Construct Hyrule Warriors Age of Imprisonment
05:00No, you're here for my butt aren't you?
05:06The Forbidden Construct earns its place on this list through its combination of large-scale attacks and
05:11sustained battlefield pressure. Sweeping attacks, explosive area damage and enemy summons to limit player
05:16movement across the arena are the key attacks used by the Forbidden Construct, which means that
05:20managing positioning becomes critical, especially during later phases where attack frequency increases
05:25and your blood pressure rises. The battle also requires effective use of character abilities
05:30and weak point exposure mechanics to deal damage efficiently. Unlike smaller duels focused entirely on
05:35reaction speed, the Forbidden Construct tests resource management and battlefield awareness over a
05:40long encounter and unfortunately players who become overly aggressive or crash out after a few minutes
05:44are often punished by overlapping attacks from multiple directions.
05:55Phantom Ganon Hyrule Warriors Definitive Edition
06:05Phantom Ganon is one of the toughest bosses in Hyrule Warriors Definitive Edition because of his speed and
06:10unpredictable attack transitions. He teleports around the arena, launches ranged energy attacks and chains
06:16melee strikes together with essentially zero recovery time between actions. The fight becomes more
06:20difficult when combined with surrounding enemy forces that distract from Phantom Ganon's positioning.
06:25Weak point opportunities are also shorter than those of many larger bosses, meaning players must react
06:30quickly to maximize damage. On harder difficulties, Phantom Ganon can eliminate large portions of health
06:35rapidly, particularly during crowded objectives where movement options become restricted.
06:46Octavo, Cadence of Hyrule
06:50Many consider Octavo the hardest boss in Cadence of Hyrule because the fight pulls out all the stops on the
06:55game's rhythm mechanics and intensifies in attack patterns. The encounter requires players to maintain
07:00perfect timing while responding to fast moving projectiles, environmental hazards and changing
07:05movement patterns. Unlike earlier bosses, Octavo provides very few safe opportunities to recover
07:09after mistakes, which means missing the beat can interrupt positioning completely and lead to multiple
07:14consecutive hits. The battle also introduces faster musical pacing than many earlier encounters,
07:19increasing pressure on player reactions. Since rhythm directly affects movement and attacks,
07:24success depends equally on musical accuracy and combat awareness.
07:28the fight becomes especially demanding during later phases where attacks overlap with minimal downtime.
07:44Wind Blight Ganon, Hyrule Warriors, Age of Calamity
07:54Wind Blight Ganon is terrifying because it barely gives players time to think. Unlike slower bosses that
07:59telegraph huge attacks, this fight revolves around speed, ranged pressure and constant movement with
08:04lasers, aerial assaults and rapid projectiles that create a battle that is more like surviving a
08:09sinking ship than fighting a traditional Zelda boss. The encounter heavily punishes poor positioning,
08:14especially for players unfamiliar with defensive timing, and hence trying to heal or recover often
08:19feels impossible because of Wind Blight's determination to decimate players. In many ways,
08:23the boss feels unfair until you finally understand its patterns. Even then, one moment of panic can
08:28instantly undo several minutes of careful play and preparation.
08:38The Imprisoned, Hyrule Warriors, Definitive Edition
08:46The Imprisoned ranks as the hardest boss on this list because it's just a top to bottom difficult battle
08:51in every way. Unlike standard boss fights focused solely on combat, players are also expected to defend
08:56allied positions, damage weak points and prevent the boss from advancing across the map.
09:00The Imprisoned's enormous size also makes positioning difficult, particularly when multiple enemy
09:05groups appear to make the battle a million times worse. Several attacks cover wide areas and can
09:10interrupt objectives quickly if ignored for even a short period, on top of getting progressively more
09:15difficult. Success depends not only on combat skill, but also on multitasking, map awareness and
09:20efficient movement between rapidly changing objectives.
