Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has used his speech at the ALP's 50th national conference in Adelaide to declare the Liberals the Nationals and one nation are already effectively a Coalition and are Labour's Opposition. The Prime Minister then outlined the party's platform for the future. Among the new policies Labor will extend its paid prac scheme to ten more university degrees and create a new fair work court. Anthony Albanese says Labor is keeping it's focus on cost of living and helping 'people under pressure'.

00:01I understand that for many Australians right now, looking at the future runs second to
00:08the immediate pressures that they are under. The last decade has inflicted one global shock
00:14after another and people have been given every reason to feel like the economy is simply
00:21not working for them. That goes deeper than sentiment, it's a reality people are up against.
00:28It is a challenge confronting governments and democracies right around the world. And
00:34that is why our focus remains squarely on helping with the cost of living, on the practical
00:40measures that matter to people and make a positive difference to their lives. Because that is
00:46how we demonstrate to Australians that their hard work will pay off, that their effort is
00:52worth it, that they can plan and build for their future. And it is how we prove that the
00:59status quo is not set in stone. That problems can be solved. That faults in the system can
01:07be fixed. That Labor is delivering the real change that Australians deserve.
