00:02Many of you might be like me and find that recharging your phone or your laptop is taking
00:09longer than you would like. Sometimes you just want to charge absolutely quick as possible.
00:13So I thought I'd actually invest in a fast 65 watt USB-C charger along with a Thunderbolt 5
00:24charging cord, USB-C to USB-C charging cord that can apparently recharge at 100 watts per hour.
00:30So I bought it off Amazon two days ago, arrived yesterday, gonna open it now. There's a few other
00:35things from Amazon in here which we won't talk about at the moment. We'll just deal with the
00:40charger and the cord so just opening the box. Now the charging port has got a special feature in
01:03that it actually supposedly gives you a LCD display of how much output is occurring.
01:11Here's the USB-C Thunderbolt cord. I ordered a 1.2 meter cord, sort of
01:24trying to get a good mix between this and
01:28not being too long and getting tangled up everywhere. So here we are, here's the cord,
01:34a silicon cord, USB-C to USB-C cord. It's a Thunderbolt 5 cord, so the latest in charging
01:44speed and data transfer. It comes with these little ends, that's unusual. And it also has a
01:52E-mark chip which is what you want for these super fast USB-C cords. So that's the cord and
01:59now let's find the plug.
02:05Here we go. So a 65 watt GAN fast charger. So it's got three ports. I'll open it in a
02:13second. It's got a USB-A
02:14port and then two USB-C ports and apparently both USB-C ports will charge or give out 65 watts
02:23and the USB-A
02:25gives out 60 watts which is very fast for USB-A charger. So let's open this.
02:49Now this brand is called Tapati and here we go. 65 watt GAN charger.
03:08So there we go. Got the USB-A, two USB-C's.
03:20So there we go. What I'm going to do is now test it out.
03:30Okay, here we go. My laptop which is sitting at 63% could do a little bit of a charge.
03:35The new USB port and the new Thunderbolt 5 cable. A little bit more information on the cable.
03:45Silclean cable. So it's a USB-4 cable that can transfer data at up to 80 gigabytes per second.
03:52Although I did purchase this for its charging capability. Not its data transfer capability.
03:58So I'm going to test it out now. Put in one of these USB-C ports and it's meant to
04:03say
04:04on here at what wattage the output is that.
04:10Plugging it in.
04:13There you go. Immediately jumps up. 26, 36, 35.
04:22So already charging quite quickly. Your traditional iPhone charges max out at 20.
04:28So this is already close to double the amount.
04:35I'll try the other port.
04:39Wait for that to reset. So that's neat having a display at how fast the output is.
04:53There you go. 44 watts. 49.
04:58So it does fluctuate a little bit. But it's already demonstrated that it can
05:02output into the 40s, even close to 50 watts. So certainly a fast charger.
05:07So this is great. It means that no longer do I have to carry around the bulky
05:13old cord and adapter for the laptop. Now it's fine just to have a high quality GAN
05:19all charger and a fast USB-C cable.
