00:46a truly remarkable footballer and manager who inspired generations with his talent, passion and love of the game.
00:54Above all, he will be remembered as a kind and generous man and our thoughts are with his family and

01:08Although Kevin Keegan was a treasure across the UK, he was particularly fond in Newcastle where he spent the majority
01:16of his playing and coaching career.
01:19Former footballer Lee Clark had this to say about the manager.
01:24He thought today, this initial time, so soon after getting the news, is of heartbreak.
01:33I've seen how Kevin reinvigorated the city and the football club together in the early 80s when I was a
01:40supporter.
01:41And then I was lucky enough to be part of the group of players he inherited when he did exactly
01:46the same in the 90s, reinvigorated the football club with the city once again.
01:51And it's such a tough time, really, because he wasn't just the manager to us players.
01:59He's like a father figure to us.
02:02You know, our family life, what things we'd done away from the football club was just as important.
02:10And, you know, I was the other day he arrived as a manager and then I was the other day
02:16he left.
02:16And that day was hard to take when he left us.
02:20The dressing room was heartbroken.
02:22And so today is a day of sombre realism.
02:30You're very emotionally charged.
02:33You want to remember the good times, but you just think, you know, such a sad day.
02:40They talk about the same.
02:43No one's had any individuals bigger than any football club, and that is rightly so.
02:48But if ever anyone came close to that, it was Kevin.
02:52Former player and former manager, and it's just a special guy.
