Australian mother Jenitar Na'amoana, 34, has given birth to four identical baby girls after an extraordinarily rare, naturally conceived pregnancy at the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital. She and her husband, Jortham, who already have four children, were stunned when doctors confirmed they were expecting identical quadruplets. The babies—Emily, Harriet, Catherine, and Alexa—were delivered by caesarean section at 28 weeks and four days on 14 July after doctors closely monitored the high-risk pregnancy. Maternal fetal medicine specialist Dr. Alexa Bendall described the case as exceptionally rare, noting that identical quadruplets occur in roughly one in 15 million pregnancies, while four babies sharing a single placenta is virtually unheard of. The newborns are currently receiving care in the neonatal intensive care unit and are reported to be doing well. Baby Alexa was named in honor of Dr. Bendall, whose care and support guided the family throughout the remarkable pregnancy.
