00:12A Date in the Park is a simple, point and click adventure which only takes around 30 or so minutes
00:17to finish. You play as Lou, a man who has recently moved to Lisbon to start fresh after a string

00:23failed relationships and the death of both of his parents. While there he meets Katerina,
00:28and after a lovely evening at a bar you're invited to go on a date with her, in the park.
00:34Do you see why the game is called that now? The old FMV style of animation really helps sell the
00:39creepiness of this game, and paired with the lack of music and empty environments, it's definitely
00:44an isolating experience. Although the plot is relatively simple, if you're not a native speaker
00:49of Portuguese then it really helps put you in the shoes of Lou as a confused outsider. You truly feel
00:55alone in this game, having no way to contact people or communicate. Everything is foreshadowed
01:00in Portuguese. If only Lou knew. It's shock factor is definitely tame by today's standards,
01:07but when it first released it really made people's skin crawl. It's actually quite refreshing to go
01:12back in time to a horror game like this and think, is this really what frightened people over a decade
01:17ago? I won't give away any spoilers though, as it's best you go into this blind, but if you've got
01:2230 minutes to
01:23spare, why not go and have a date in the park?
