00:00The World Cup came to an end yesterday, thankfully, kind of a dud, kind of a dud final.
00:06Way to go out on a whimper, World Cup.
00:07Thanks a lot.
00:08Did you pay Mike Marr?
00:10I paid him yesterday.
00:11Big winner.
00:12Because I had a little sweat, but Argentina didn't even get a shot on goal.
00:16Yeah, it's hard to win when you don't get a shot on goal.
00:18Well, they got two at the end.
00:19They got two at the end.
00:20So what did it finish, 23-2, or what was the shots on goal?
00:24Yeah, I know.
00:24They dominated for sure.
00:26I mean, at one point they flashed the passes.
00:28Did you see that stat during the game?
00:30Yeah, they're about double the passes.
00:31And it was something like 740 to 340.
00:34Yeah, completed passes.
00:35Well, they just dominated possession.
00:37The goalie, the Argentinian goalie was the best player in the ball.
00:39No, he played great.
00:40He was killing it.
00:41He could only hold them off for so long.
00:42They gave the award for the best goalie to Spain's goalie, and I get it.
00:47He had a bunch of shutouts, but he didn't have the amount of saves.
00:50Like, I might have given it to the guy from Cape Verde or something.
00:53I don't know.
00:54It didn't follow it that closely.
00:55That guy was incredible yesterday.
00:57Spain doesn't let you get chances.
01:00Nope.
01:00They didn't lock you down.
01:02They were very good.
01:02When was the fight?
01:04I missed the fight.
01:05Was that the fight?
01:06Wasn't there a fight at the end?
01:08A little bit.
01:09There was some scrappy little end.
01:09Was that after the game?
01:10Yeah.
01:11Oh, that was after the game.
01:12Okay.
01:13I went for a walk after it was over.
01:14I immediately turned it off.
01:16I didn't wait to see them get there and raise the cuff.
01:18No, I didn't watch that.
01:18I didn't wait for that.
01:19Oh, I didn't watch it.
01:20That's the best part.
01:21Ah, it's clearly not the best part.
01:23That's when I put the mats on.
01:24Well, maybe for that game, it was the best part because the game was a snoozer for the
01:27most part.
01:28But generally, I like to see a little celebration and then I'd turn away.
01:34Unless it's the Caps winning the Stanley Cup.
01:35I actually tweeted them raising the cup.
01:37That's why I love sports.
01:39I don't know.
01:40It was a reminder to me of why I love sports.
01:42I don't really care about a bunch of Spaniards hoisting the World Cup.
01:45It really doesn't affect me emotionally.
01:48Maybe I'm a soulless robot.
01:50I don't know.
01:51I'm not sure.
01:53I didn't watch it either, so I'm soulless.
01:55Yeah, maybe.
01:56I turned it off.
01:57Could be the case.
01:58Three of four junks did not watch the celebration.
02:00I should have turned it off at the halftime.
02:02You know what?
02:02It wasn't anything against Spain.
02:03If Messi lifted it again, I wouldn't have cared.
02:06I would have seen them either win or lose and I'd go on with the rest of my day.
02:10So remind me what you did.
02:11You went for a walk right after.
02:15What did I do afterwards?
02:16You watched the Nats.
02:17I put the Nats on.
02:18Yep.
02:19What did you do right after?
02:20You turned it off.
02:21I think I had dinner.
02:21You didn't want to watch the trophy presentation.
02:23Dinner.
02:24Walked the dog.
02:26Prepared to wake up at 4.40.
02:27Right.
02:28Mentally.
02:29Mentally tried to get in.
02:30That was kind of the logical progression.
02:33Yes.
02:33That's the way it works.
02:36Not a big celebration in press conference, guys.
02:39Yeah, I didn't care about that.
02:40Yeah.
02:41I didn't care about Trump walking out there.
02:42Messi crying as he was walking off the field.
02:45Well, I did see that the Argentine.
02:48I want to call them Argentinians, but I think it's Argentine is correct.
02:52They were all sore losers.
02:54None of them stopped for media and they went straight to the bus.
02:57Oh, they did?
02:57They went straight to the bus.
02:58Straight to the bus.
02:59Yeah.
02:59They were supposed to stop and talk.
03:01Yeah, yeah, yeah.
03:01It's hard.
03:02It had to be disappointing.
03:03Yeah, they were just getting anything done.
03:04Most teams, even when they lose, they'll sit there and they'll do some media before they
03:09go into the bus and pout.
03:11Not those guys.
03:12The Argentines, spoiled little babies, went straight on the bus.
03:16Not going to hold it against them.
03:17No, but I mean, I think overall, the World Cup was great.
03:19I think it was amazing.
03:20It was awesome.
03:22Overall, it was really good, but I'll be honest.
03:25Like most Americans, check back with me in 2030.
03:28It's true.
03:29But I thought we did a great job of hosting it.
03:31I liked having the games on.
03:33I think it was great to have it here.
03:34I know Cakes won't.
03:35I'll personally miss having the games on.
03:37It was entertaining to have a game on the afternoon.
03:39It was great to have it.
03:40But once football starts, you'll forget about it.
03:42Yeah, I mean, that's true.
03:43I'll be almost 60 the next time the World Cup rolls around when I'm ready to re-engage.
03:48I think I'm more inclined to maybe check out, and I'm saying maybe, maybe check out the
03:53Euro finals.
03:54Oh, I'm not.
03:55I can tell you with certainty I'm not.
03:57I've never watched them.
03:58I just have to know more of the players.
04:00I still don't.
04:01After the entire World Cup, I still basically only know the same stars.
04:04Yeah.
04:04For the most part.
04:05The guy who won the Best Player Award, he didn't even score in the whole World Cup.
04:09Who did they give it to?
04:10Rodri?
04:11Yeah, see, I don't know who he is.
04:12He didn't score at all?
04:15Why did they give it to him?
04:16Because he's a great player.
04:17I'm sure he's a great player.
04:18Nobody scores on Spain.
04:19He plays great defense.
04:20Yeah.
04:21Good passer.
04:21They didn't give it to the young kid, Lamal or whatever.
04:24They didn't give it to him.
04:25He didn't do a ton.
04:26He didn't do a lot?
04:27No.
04:27No, they're a true team.
04:30Like a lot of the other teams, for example, Argentina, Messi led them in all the statistics.
04:38Spain got contributions from everybody.
04:40The guy who scored the game when a goal came off the bench.
04:43The women are next year.
04:44Is that right?
04:45The women's World Cup is next year?
04:46I believe so.
04:46And where is that being hosted?
04:48It's not here.
04:52I'll definitely pay attention to that, especially when the Americans are playing.
04:56Brazil.
04:57It won't be the same.
04:58It'll be in Brazil.
04:59So the time difference is going to be wacky.
05:02No, I think it's not that bad.
05:03Probably not that bad.
05:04It'll be good.
05:05No.
05:05Are they still at Eastern time?
05:07Central time?
05:08Well, that's good.
05:09Mountain time?
05:09I'll be into at least certainly watching the Americans.
05:12Well, the next Men's World Cup is going to mess with your schedule a bit.
05:16But it's in Portugal, Spain, and I believe Morocco.
05:21The Tri hosts.
05:23So that'll be, what, five hours ahead?
05:25When will those games be played?
05:26I mean, isn't Spain five, six, or seven hours ahead?
05:29Probably five or six.
05:30No idea.
05:31I'll never go there.
05:32I don't know.
05:32I'm guessing the games will be played 12 and 3.
05:36That's fine.
05:37That works.
05:3712, like, noon?
05:38I'm guessing if they put those games in prime time there, like if they play a 9 o'clock
05:44p.m. game.
05:45Yeah, that works.
05:46It'd be 3 p.m. for us, right?
05:47That won't mess with me.
05:48The worst one was the ones that were in Korea, I think it was.
05:50Yeah.
05:51I mean, that was brutal.
05:52Navajo Far East is going to be tough.
05:53Yeah, that was brutal.
05:54This will be fine.
05:55So Mike Maher got paid.
05:57He got paid for most of us.
05:59He got paid.
06:00No one got paid on the British Open, though.
06:02No one had Ryan Fox.
06:04Ah, it's carryover to the Masters.
06:05No one had Ryan Fox.
06:06Carryover.
06:06Valdez not participating, apparently.
06:08We're going to have a double bomb pot for the Masters, 2027.
06:11We'll have a double pot.
06:12Love it.
06:13I thought that was awesome.
06:14That was super exciting.
06:15Had he done anything of note before?
06:17Actually, he had one recently.
06:19But not in the majors.
06:21He's a guy who took up golf late.
06:23He's got a really goofy-ish kind of swing.
06:25Just pounds the ball.
06:26Pounds the ball.
06:28I actually told my buddy, I told Vin yesterday, or two days before, I said, watch out for
06:34Ryan Fox.
06:35If he's in the hunt, I could see him.
06:38Vin actually put 50 bucks on it and won a couple hundred out of it.
06:42Nice.
06:42I didn't even know he was betting on whatever I was saying.
06:44But he just sat there on the couch and just bet on it.
06:47Ryan Fox had never finished better than 15th in any major.
06:49His entire career.
06:51Valdez, you went to Morgan Wallen on Friday, I believe?
06:54Friday night.
06:55It wasn't smoked out?
06:56No.
06:56That was the Cal Ripken jersey night?
06:59Yes, he wore a Cal Ripken jersey.
07:01Yeah, what was he wearing that second night?
07:02I don't want to go over your night, but what was he wearing that second night?
07:05I didn't understand what it was.
07:06It was like a tank top.
07:07Yeah, what was it?
07:08There was something on it.
07:09I couldn't tell.
07:10Yeah.
07:11I don't think it was anything Baltimore related.
07:12And then he came out with what, the military guys, some of the Navy guys?
07:15Yes.
07:16Big dud.
07:17Dud for you, right?
07:18I mean.
07:18You'd rather have had Ray.
07:20Of course.
07:21Yeah.
07:21I mean, I know what he's doing.
07:24You can't be mad that he's coming out with military members.
07:28I know.
07:28Because you appreciate what they do for us and their sacrifice.
07:32It's not as exciting.
07:32Yes, but it's not as exciting as coming out with Ray and doing the dumb dance.
07:36It's better than the one I went to.
07:37The one I went to, he came out solo.
07:39We're all waiting.
07:40Everyone's got their cameras.
07:41Everyone's shooting.
07:42Everyone's shooting.
07:42Everyone's shooting.
07:43And he just comes out solo.
07:44Now, he did come out an hour late.
07:46Oh, he did?
07:47I heard.
07:48Oh, yeah.
07:48Oh, that hurts.
07:49It was a brutal wait.
07:52Well, he did that on Saturday, too.
07:53Oh, he did?
07:53Yeah.
07:54After Brooks and Dunn, who are awesome, by the way.
07:58They were awesome.
07:58They're almost as good as Morgan.
08:01Everyone's all fired up and waiting.
08:03And then the energy's building and everything.
08:07And then it's just.
08:09An hour later?
08:09And then 10 minutes goes by.
08:1220 minutes goes by.
08:13I think that's planned.
08:1530 minutes?
08:16I don't think it's planned.
08:17It did an hour late.
08:18It's an hour after Ella Langley for us.
08:19He went on close to 10 o'clock.
08:22The show didn't end until midnight.
08:24It's kind of what it was in Chicago.
08:26Yeah, he did that on Saturday night, too.
08:28Kind of what, yeah.
08:29I think that's the bit.
08:30I don't understand it.
08:31There's way too much downtime.
08:32I'm with you.
08:33There's way too much downtime between acts.
08:35They put a DJ on?
08:36What's going on in between?
08:37Nothing.
08:38Nothing.
08:39Nothing.
08:39And then music starts playing.
08:41Nothing.
08:4220 minutes.
08:43And then you go, oh, they got something going on.
08:45Like, he might be coming out soon.
08:47And then it's like another 20 minutes of just background music.
08:50Honestly, it's the same thing in Chicago.
08:52It was an hour wait between Ella Langley and him.
08:54And there was probably a half an hour from Gavin Adcock to Ella Langley.
08:58And I'm just like, I got to pee, but he might come out.
09:00And then, yeah.
09:02You don't want to miss the walkout.
09:03Yeah, I don't want to miss the walkout.
09:04You understand that there is, you know, change over time.
09:07Like, that's built in.
09:08But if it's like an hour, like.
09:10No, it's like an hour.
09:11That's outrageous.
09:11Oh, it's, I mean, it's an hour.
09:12I mean, 20 to 30 minutes of, like, getting the equipment set up.
09:16That's standard.
09:16But, like, an hour plus.
09:18And then he does his bit where he does his, my, my, my, the kids were saying, what do
09:24they call it, like, aura mogging or whatever.
09:26Aura farming.
09:27He was just out there standing.
09:29And just watching the people.
09:31And then he walks to the other end of the stage and shakes hands with everybody.
09:34He grabs their phones.
09:34Did he do that?
09:35Yeah, yeah.
09:35So our seats were next to the B stage.
09:40So he did, like, three, four songs on the B stage.
09:42Yeah.
09:42And right in front of us.
09:43But the walk from the main stage to the B stage is a lot.
09:47We just watched him high-five everybody everywhere.
09:50And it's kind of cool.
09:51He grabs everybody's phones.
09:52But it just takes forever.
09:54Maybe we should do that on Thursday night when we're going to be at the Bay Sox game.
09:58Do some aura farming or whatever.
10:01Just walk around and just act like we're God.
10:03Join us in Bowie.
10:05Thursday night.
10:07Chesapeake Bay Sox.
10:08Prince George's Stadium.
10:10But you do get your money's worth because it's a long show.
10:14Plays a ton of songs.
10:14Plays a ton of hits.
10:16Everybody's singing along.
10:17Which, by the way, I hate.
10:19FYI.
10:19I paid money to see Morgan sing, not you sing.
10:22And you hear it all around you.
10:24Yeah, I don't mind that.
10:25Such a grump.
10:26Yeah, I don't mind that.
10:27At least he has strict rules.
10:29Everybody's got to be about his rules.
10:30That's grumpy.
10:31That's not grumpy.
10:32I paid good money to hear Morgan, not your dumbass in front of me, screaming along the lyrics.
10:38They're enjoying songs.
10:40It's kind of a point.
10:41Thousands of people want to have fun.
10:42I want to hear him sing Whiskey Glasses.
10:44Not you.
10:45You should probably still be able to hear it.
10:48No, you probably hear the people around you a little louder.
10:52All those country bumpkins.
10:54I did suggest to the group, I said, what do you think about running it back on Saturday?
11:00Oh, really?
11:01Yeah, just because I got a little size for Ella.
11:03Uh-huh.
11:04Because I'm an Ella fella.
11:06That's Ryan.
11:07Yeah.
11:08Sort of tweeting about it.
11:09Ella looked ridiculous.
11:12She was wearing a Ravens jersey, right?
11:14She's just a freaking 12.
11:16They're high white heels.
11:17You like her because she's tall.
11:19She ain't that tall.
11:20She appears to be tall.
11:21Well, maybe in her boots.
11:22I don't think she's that tall.
11:24But she's just gorgeous.
11:26And she's talented.
11:28Mega talented.
11:29Yeah, definitely talented.
11:30It seemed like everyone from Maryland was at that show, either on Friday or Saturday.
11:36Yeah.
11:36I'm glad they didn't smoke it out.
11:38I was worried for you for a little bit.
11:39She's 5'5", by the way, Ella Lang.
11:41Oh, okay.
11:42Yeah.
11:42She looks taller than me.
11:43In her boots, she's like 5'9".
11:45Yeah.
11:46It was the second time I've seen Morgan.
11:48Mm-hmm.
11:49I think he puts on a great show.
11:50Did you see him both times at M&T?
11:52No, the first time he was at FedEx.
11:53Uh-huh.
11:54I thought the FedEx concert was better than the M&T concert.
11:59Well, good for you.
12:00Oh, you did?
12:01Yeah.
12:01Show wasn't canceled.
12:02You were worried about that.
12:04Just a little waiting, but you got some bang for your bucks.
12:07Yep.
12:08It seemed like a lot of people on social media were out there, so I'm glad.
12:11Oh, it was like a friggin' Ravens game.
12:13My wife and daughter went.
12:14Yeah.
12:14And they said it took two hours to get to Baltimore from Tyson's.
12:17Oh, wow.
12:18And then there were storms.
12:20Mm-hmm.
12:20The first two acts were canceled.
12:22So it was just Ella and Morgan.
12:25Two hours from Tyson's.
12:26So that was Saturday.
12:27That was Saturday.
12:28Dude, I went to Long Island, and it's a four-and-a-half-hour trip.
12:33It took me eight hours to get there on Friday.
12:36Ooh.
12:36Eight hours.
12:37Because of storms?
12:39No, just traffic in Delaware.
12:40Friday traffic.
12:41And then you hit the New York traffic and then the Long Island traffic.
12:44I mean, it was just crazy.
12:45Right.
12:45At one point, I was 64, 74 miles away, and it said it still had over three hours to get
12:51there.
12:52Bad beat.
12:53As always, if you want to get in touch with us throughout the show, you can hit us up at
12:561-800-636-1067.
13:00We're the Junkies.
13:01Coming right back.
13:01See you next week.
13:01Bye.
