00:00Only on 11 News, a Southern Colorado man says he was switched at birth.
00:05And now he, the man who says he was switched with, and their parents are suing the hospital in North
00:11Dakota where they were born.
00:13Rachel Ramsey is here to explain. Rachel, this man tells you the revelation started on Ancestry.com.
00:17Yes, that's where Jeremy Morrison says his aunt gave her DNA in the hopes of learning about her estranged half
00:24-sister.
00:24And considering Morrison is her only nephew, you could imagine her surprised when the website told her she had a
00:30nephew by the name of Kyle Boleyn.
00:32And after some digging, Morrison got a call with some news.
00:37Me and both my biological parents.
00:39When you feel like you don't fit in, being switched at birth is probably not your first thought.
00:44I never would have guessed.
00:45But Jeremy Morrison says he has always felt different from his family.
00:48I didn't have anyone that looked like me in my family.
00:51I was that blonde-haired kid that stood out in a family full of brown-haired people.
00:57And two years ago, at 36 years old, he finally found out why he felt that way when...
01:03We got the DNA test back.
01:04Morrison says that test showed his parents were not actually his parents.
01:08It was really emotional. It's both me and my dads.
01:12Morrison says the man he was switched at birth with, Kyle Boleyn,
01:15was born just hours apart from him on January 26, 1988, at the same hospital in Grafton, North Dakota.
01:22I believe we were the only babies born that day.
01:25They can't figure out which baby is which.
01:27Morrison and Boleyn, along with their parents, are suing Unity Medical Center.
01:31Records show the hospital denies all allegations,
01:33and it tells me these births happened decades ago, and none of the same people work there anymore.
01:38Adding quote, while we deeply sympathize with the men and their families,
01:42we have found no evidence to support claims that Unity Medical Center or its staff were responsible for what occurred.
01:47I'm O-negative and both my parents are A-positive.
01:50So they could have figured that out right away with an easy, simple blood test.
01:55But we don't even do that.
01:57That's me and my older brother that I never knew I had.
02:00Morrison says he is spreading awareness so people know this can happen.
02:03If you feel like you were, you look different than everyone else, there might be a reason for it.
02:10Both sets of parents have met their biological sons, but the two men have not met each other yet.
02:16Morrison's attorney tells me the lawsuit was made public just the other week,
02:20and we will keep you updated on how this progresses.
02:22Back to you.
02:23Very interesting, Rachel. Thank you.
