00:16Congrats to you both on the new film. It is fantastic.
00:19Cece, I'll start with you, but what initially led you to this project?
00:23You know what?
00:24And this is so annoying because I'm too lucky.
00:28Is that I had just come off of seven months of shooting a show overseas, which was so stressful.
00:35It was the best thing I've ever done, obviously, but it was very, very hard.
00:39And when I finished that, I came back and I just went, I need a break.
00:43I'm not doing anything. I'm not taking auditions. I'm just going to rest for a bit.
00:47So I got the audition.
00:50A close friend of mine was in the first one and he had a conversation with Rob about me.
00:54So Rob had a great impression.
00:58And then I said no to the audition.
01:00I was like, I'm so sorry. I have to rest.
01:03And then they came back and said, what if we just offer it to you?
01:05And I was like, yeah, yeah, yes, yes, thank you.
01:11So, but you know, that's like every actor's dream is to be offered something as amazing as this without even
01:19an audition.
01:20I'm pinching myself forever.
01:22So that's how I, that's how it came to be.
01:25The whole cast is amazing.
01:27And one thing that I really love watching is that it is a female led ensemble cast.
01:32Hell yeah.
01:32Lucy, what was it like to kind of work in that environment?
01:34Oh my gosh, intimidating.
01:36I feel like there's just so many incredible powerhouses.
01:40I really was sitting there going, why am I here?
01:45But also like, I just felt so, so lucky because I just, it just was sneakily learning from all this.
01:52Oh, I think we all were.
01:54Definitely.
01:55A lot of talent in one room and a lot of experience as well.
01:58We did have a moment, didn't we?
01:59Yeah.
02:00We just had, there was just one moment on set where we were like, Eric, and then we let
02:08it go, walked in professional, yeah, ready.
02:10Let's shoot.
02:12Now you two both play sisters in the film.
02:15Were you at all worried that maybe you wouldn't get along?
02:22You should.
02:23You should, tell them about our date.

02:26Okay, yes, we did it.
02:27We went on a little date.
02:28Yes.
02:29No, it was great because like, I feel like the second that Cece walked in the room, we
02:33both, we instantly locked eyes and we were like, oh yeah, we can do it.

02:38It's great.
02:38There was an instant rapport and I, you know, Rob encouraged us to go and spend time together,
02:43which was, which was really tough.
02:46It was really hard to do that.
02:48But yeah, we sort of, we spent so much time in each other's rooms while we were filming
02:53as well.
02:54Yeah, yeah.
02:54Rehearsing and stuff.
02:56Without realising it, that sort of helped build our sort of capital.
02:58Definitely.
02:58On screen.
02:59Definitely.

03:00I'm so lucky to work with Cece as well.

03:05I'm in awe of you all the time.
03:07But it's cool because like, we have, obviously there's a lot of different generations in
03:12terms of the cast.
03:13Um, so we share our culture and our language in that, in our generation, you know, like,
03:19and, and being, being, um, like a, like a light skin or biracial black woman in, in
03:27the industry growing up in Australia.
03:29It's a very certain experience, um, you know, and like being queer and all of this kind
03:33of stuff.
03:34So we really, once we knew that we were this, it was all best friends from then on once,
03:41you know, recognisers, recognisers.
03:44I see you, I really see you.
03:46And then from there, besties for a lot.
03:48And so comfortable, like, you're amazing.
03:50Just by the way, if I don't say that enough.
03:53It's definitely shows on screen.
03:55And I think one thing that comes across is the fact that you obviously would have spent
03:59a lot of time together, but the characters themselves are kind of locked in this space
04:02where they have to kind of communicate together and they're very tight knit quarters.
04:06Uh, one thing I wanted to talk about a little bit was the setting and the actual landscape
04:10itself felt like it was really hard to film there and that it just felt like a tough
04:14to write.
04:15Yeah, absolutely.
04:16I think, um, I feel like we can't really complain because we weren't carrying.
04:21Exactly.
04:21Exactly.
04:22I go to complain and then I'm like, look at that camera right there, how heavy it is.
04:26They were carrying that on their backs piece by piece through a rainforest trail.
04:31Sometimes I feel like it was a miracle if we made a take without one of us slipping over
04:36and you'd sort of, you know, they'd be like, okay, you're walking down traversing that sort
04:39of that bush and, um, and I would, we'd get to the bottom and I'd turn around and I'd
04:44just see like our amazing cinematographer, Andy Comis and like the whole team behind
04:49like knee, like up to the knees in mud.
04:52Water.
04:53People were in the water, like in the water.
04:55Yeah, it was, it was actually one of the most amazing things I've ever seen.
04:58Oh my God.
04:59And you had to go in the water too.
05:01Yeah.
05:01Yeah, yeah.
05:02I had a little dip.
05:03I had a little dip.
05:03It's a, it's a classic kind of whodunit as well.
05:05And I feel like that's refreshing and it's nice to see those come back.
05:08Um, in your opinion, what makes the perfect murder mystery?
05:12Ooh.
05:15I, I don't like to be spoon-fed as an audience member.
05:18I like to be able to pick up some of the pieces, read between the lines a little bit.
05:22But in saying that, if I'm not given enough, sometimes I'm like, I have no idea what's
05:26happening.
05:27So I feel like something that strikes that balance well is usually, um, what sort of grabs me
05:32the most.
05:32Yeah, definitely.
05:33You want to trust that your audience is smart enough to figure it out on their own.
05:37And then sometimes it can just be exposition.
05:39And for me, like it's a little bit boring, but definitely work a little bit.
05:43It was so well written.
05:44Like we didn't.
05:45And then also if we had any lines that just weren't working or this is not really in my
05:51character's mouth, it was so everyone was encouraging.
05:54Yeah.
