00:04Welcome to Ms. Mojo, and today we're counting down our picks for the 30 times we immediately realized we did
00:12not like a TV character based on their actions and decisions.
00:16Some of these are pivotal to the plot of the show, so a spoiler alert is in effect.
00:21Oh god, someone call 911.
00:24Can I get a little more wine please?
00:27Number 30, Sam Stops Hunting, Supernatural
00:31The lasting bond between Sam and Dean is a staple of Supernatural, and we've seen Sam go to great lengths
00:38to help Dean out and keep him safe throughout the show.
00:42So when Sam decides to walk away from hunting after Dean's disappearance, we were not thrilled.
00:47Something you want to tell me, Sam?
00:49What?
00:50No.
00:52You sure about that?
00:55I don't know.
00:57This was so out of character for him that it caught us all off guard.
01:01In the end, Dean ended up returning, and we don't blame him for being mad that Sam essentially gave up
01:07on him.
01:07We're also not sure if their relationship was ever truly the same after that, but we know it left a
01:12bitter taste in our mouths moving forward.
01:14My heart breaks for you.
01:18The weight on your shoulders.
01:21What you've done, what you still have to do.
01:25Number 29, Todd's Random Killing, Breaking Bad
01:29There have been a lot of shocking moments on this show, and Jesse and Walt have dished out a lot
01:35of them.
01:36But the difference is, Jesse and Walt are very flawed, empathetic characters that we grow to cheer for throughout the
01:42show.
01:43Todd, however, we were never able to forgive for his actions during the train heist, despite him being fairly docile
01:49up to this point.
01:50Won't they figure out they got robbed anyway on account of getting watered down meth on you?
01:54Well, out of 24,000 gallons, it'll only amount to about 4% dilution, so...
02:01But yes, you're right. They will notice.
02:04When Todd, Walt, and Jesse steal methylamine from the train, an unknowing and curious boy witnesses them, and Todd takes
02:12matters into his own hands.
02:14This was a turning point in the series, especially for Jesse, who was never able to truly forget what Todd
02:20did to that little boy.
02:26Number 28, Scotty Cheats, Brothers and Sisters
02:30Brothers and Sisters always keeps it very realistic when it comes to depicting real family problems, and this storyline was
02:38no exception.
02:39Kevin, you can't just go around hitting people.
02:41Oh, God. You know what? I am so sick of people telling me what to do and how to feel.
02:46Kevin, the person you want to hit is me.
02:48A waiter? A waiter? Really?
02:51However, we were still devastated when Scotty betrayed Kevin, and watching the fallout of Scotty's affair is emotional to say
02:59the least.
03:00After feeling unsupported by Kevin, Scotty has a one-night stand with a waiter the night of his restaurant opening,
03:06and he keeps it a secret from Kevin for months.
03:09What are you talking about? What guy?
03:14Oh, my God. He's here?
03:17He's one of the waiters?
03:18Kevin, I'm dealing with it, all right?
03:19You're dealing with it, so I'm right?
03:21This is unbelievable.
03:23Kevin, just...
03:24This felt very out of place and unnecessary, as this did not seem to align with Scotty's character.
03:30We're glad they worked it out in the end, but we still like to skip this plot when we re
03:34-watch the show.
03:36Do you know what the hardest thing about this is?
03:39Whenever anything bad happens, you are the person I want to talk to most.
03:48Number 27. Topanga picks Corey over Yale.
03:52Boy meets world.
03:54Here we have a classic TV trope.
03:56The girl gives up her dreams for a boy.
03:59And this may not be the last time you see this particular narrative convention on this list.
04:03What do you want?
04:05If I knew what I wanted, I wouldn't have come to you.
04:08Well, then listen very carefully.
04:12Unless you have a very good reason for not going to Yale, you should go.
04:19In the season 5 finale of Boy meets World, graduation is upon the core characters, and the emotions are everywhere.
04:27Topanga and Corey are trying to navigate their paths that seem to be diverging,
04:31despite them wanting to be together.
04:34And Topanga decides she wants to be with Corey, even proposing to him after the graduation ceremony.
04:40This would all be great if it weren't for the fact that Topanga gives up her Yale scholarship to do
04:45so.
04:45We love Topanga, but this moment definitely had us questioning her.
04:49Are you marrying me?
04:59Number 26.
05:01JD and Elliot break up.
05:03Scrubs.
05:04JD and Elliot's relationship has always been a roller coaster.
05:08And in this episode, JD's actions towards her definitely left a sour taste in our mouths.
05:14He had you.
05:16You finally had me.
05:19Oh my god, I don't want her!
05:21We loved watching him chase after her and try to win her over,
05:25but it was all very invalidating after they finally got together,
05:28and he promptly panics and ends things.
05:31Please don't cry.
05:32Oh, I won't.
05:40To make matters worse, he breaks up with her publicly at Turk and Carla's wedding.
05:45JD getting together with Elliot was clearly just about the chase for him,
05:49and we hate that for them.
05:51They eventually find their way back together,
05:53but the revival of the show isn't looking good for them.
05:55Will we ever know peace?
05:57Elliot, you let me know when we are.
06:01Don't hold your breath.
06:04Number 25, Veronica works with Hiram, Riverdale.
06:09Riverdale was a fever dream,
06:11and some of the plots made us simultaneously love and hate most of the main characters.
06:16Daddy, I'm asking, what did you and my boyfriend talk about?
06:20And I've already told you, I don't remember.
06:23Now, if you'll excuse me,
06:26the Swiss banks are about to close,
06:27and I have a call with the Lodge Charitable Trust.
06:30Trust?
06:32Right.
06:33But Veronica joining Lodge Industries and working in cahoots with her dad was where we had to draw the line.
06:39Whether it's working in local politics,
06:41closing deals,
06:42or executing her dad's business plans,
06:44very little of what they do together is above board.
06:47It seems very out of character for Veronica,
06:49especially when their joint actions negatively affect people she cares about
06:53while she's trying to reform her own image.
06:56These are fraught times, Archie.
06:59No one's thinking straight.
07:02We have to hold on to each other.
07:05Don't worry, this plot doesn't last forever.
07:07And before we're even able to catch our breath,
07:10some other crazy thing is surely going to be happening in Riverdale.
07:13Number 24.
07:15Haley gets back with Dylan.
07:17Modern family.
07:18Haley's growth throughout Modern Family's 11 seasons is really admirable.
07:23She goes from being a ditzy, spoiled brat to being confident and humble.
07:27And she dates people who are actually good for her.
07:29Um, I just got out of a relationship.
07:35I'm like a complete mess.
07:38That's perfect.
07:39I love messes.
07:41And then in the last few seasons,
07:43we see her digress big time as she gets back with Dylan,
07:47who she's with in the beginning of the series.
07:49This time, not only does she have twins with Dylan,
07:52she's barely seen in the last season,
07:54which is all very out of place for her character.
07:56This all proves that her decisions haven't brought her closer to her family.
08:00They've forced her apart.
08:02And we think she deserved a way better ending,
08:05aka Andy.
08:06Maybe we should wait for the perfect moment
08:09so we can start our relationship right.
08:11Something special and magical like in the movies.
08:15What do you want me to do to chase you through an airport?
08:17I think we got it.
08:18Number 23.
08:20Kimmy almost drinks and drives.
08:22Full House.
08:23We love it when Full House decides to dish out a life lesson for us.
08:27And this was one of the more shocking ones.
08:30When DJ and Kimmy go to a party,
08:32Kimmy has a few too many drinks.
08:34And not only does she make a fool of herself,
08:36she almost makes a deadly mistake.
08:39Give me the keys.
08:40I think not.
08:41If you're making me leave,
08:43at least I can just drive home.
08:45Kimmy, you're in no condition to drive home.
08:48If I walk, I might fall and hurt myself.
08:50Luckily, DJ intervenes.
08:52But Kimmy intended on driving while in that state.
08:55And was even mad the next day that DJ stopped her.
08:58This was hard to watch,
08:59as Kimmy comes across as being a terrible decision maker
09:02with a bad moral compass.
09:04Especially considering DJ's mom was killed by a drunk driver.
09:08It's my life.
09:09What do you care?
09:10We couldn't look at Kimmy the same way after this.
09:13Number 22.
09:15Debbie takes advantage of Matt.
09:17Shameless.
09:18There are literally countless questionable decisions
09:20that take place on this show.
09:22And as the series progresses,
09:24Debbie's behavior becomes more and more abhorrent.
09:27Are you okay?
09:28Uh, yeah.
09:29Oh, no.
09:30I gotta...
09:31I gotta lie down.
09:33Yeah.
09:34Yeah.
09:37She's infatuated with an older guy named Matt,
09:40and she ends up taking advantage of him
09:42after he'd been drinking.
09:43It's so uncomfortable to watch
09:45and completely not okay.
09:47Especially because she fails to see the mistake
09:49she's made after the fact.
09:51After this,
09:52she moves on to Derek,
09:53whom she tries to trap with a pregnancy.
09:56It's clear that this is all just the start of her downfall.
09:59And it's sad considering she was a sweet and innocent kid
10:02when the show first aired.
10:07I am a woman!
10:11Number 21.
10:13Song Gi-hun goes back.
10:14Squid Game.
10:15Gi-hun was the unlikely hero
10:17of the first season of Squid Game.
10:19And we were literally on the edge of our seats
10:21holding our breath
10:22while he competed to be the sole victor.
10:40After all of that,
10:41we couldn't forgive his decision
10:42to go back into the games,
10:44no matter what his intentions were.
10:46He could have taken his winnings,
10:48been there for his daughter,
10:49and still tried to bring the games down
10:50from the outside.
10:51Instead,
10:53he goes in and thinks he can outsmart them
10:55from the inside.
10:56In the end,
10:57both he and his daughter suffer.
10:59And it's hard to cheer for him
11:00the same way his second time around.
11:06Number 20.
11:07Nancy Marries a DEA Agent.
11:10Weeds.
11:11On Weeds,
11:12Nancy Botwin's husband dies suddenly,
11:14leaving her without enough money
11:16to keep up the suburban life
11:17she and her sons have become accustomed to.
11:20In order to maintain her lifestyle,
11:22she enters the drug trade.
11:24However,
11:25what starts out as a way
11:26to keep her family secure
11:27inevitably ends up getting them in danger.
11:30Nancy marries Peter,
11:31a DEA agent,
11:33for her own purposes
11:34despite her son's feelings,
11:35and ends up using Peter
11:37to take down her competitors
11:39in the business.
11:40Presidents were awakened
11:41to the sounds of police sirens
11:42and battering rams.
11:43Over a thousand plants were confiscated
11:45and dozens were arrested.
11:47Her remarriage marks a turning point
11:49for the show.
11:49Most anti-heroes get into crime
11:52for an all-right reason,
11:53but once they become obsessed with power,
11:55things really go south.
11:57As I was saying,
11:58I was looking for the perfect gift
12:00to get my wife,
12:01and so I got her in neighborhood.
12:05Number 19.
12:06Allison Kills Harlan.
12:07The Umbrella Academy.
12:09This Netflix series
12:10follows a group of siblings
12:12bound together by a shared birthday
12:13and a host of different superpowers.
12:16Allison Hargreaves,
12:18also known as The Rumor,
12:19has the power of mind control.
12:21Season 3 sees the previously
12:23good-natured Allison
12:25turn hateful,
12:26power-hungry,
12:27and careless.
12:28You're the reason Claire's dead.
12:29My power spilled over.
12:30I got in my head.
12:31And the reason the whole world
12:32is ending.
12:33I couldn't stop myself.
12:35Victor knew.
12:37I'm sorry.
12:38The consequences are deadly.
12:40Her impulsive murder
12:41of Harlan Cooper
12:42turned viewers against her
12:44and started her down a path
12:46many still can't understand.
12:48How far she goes
12:49is drastic
12:49and hard to digest.
12:51It also made us look back
12:52at some of her past behaviors
12:54through a new,
12:55less forgiving lens.
12:57You end the world
12:57and take it from me!
13:00How are you doing this
13:01without saying I heard a rumor?
13:02Just a little residual gift
13:04from Harlan.
13:05All right, that's it.
13:06Number 18.
13:07Ted dumps Natalie
13:08on her birthday.
13:10Twice.
13:10How I Met Your Mother.
13:12Nobody would ever claim
13:13that Ted Mosby
13:14is the perfect man.
13:15But early on
13:16in How I Met Your Mother,
13:17his antics were more charming
13:19than downright cringeworthy.
13:21All of that changes
13:21when we meet Natalie,
13:23Ted's ex,
13:24whom he reconnects with.
13:25Let's not forget, though,
13:27that he broke up with her
13:28over the phone
13:28three years earlier
13:29on her birthday.
13:31You really are.
13:32Awesome.
13:34I'm just, like,
13:35super busy right now,
13:36so maybe we should just
13:38call it a day.
13:39After only a few short weeks
13:41of dating again,
13:42he decides that she's
13:43not the one for him
13:44and plans to end
13:45the relationship once more
13:47on her birthday.
13:48This was a totally
13:49heartless move on his part,
13:51especially for someone
13:52who claims to be
13:52such a hopeless romantic.
13:54I'm sorry,
13:55I just,
13:55I thought the mature thing
13:56to do was be-
13:56It's my birthday!
13:57Yes, I know,
13:58I didn't realize that it was-
13:59It's my birthday
13:59and you're telling me
14:01I'm not the one for you?
14:02It's really not
14:03such a big deal.
14:04Number 17.
14:05Michael kills Libby
14:07and Anna Lucia,
14:08lost.
14:09One of the survivors
14:10of the ill-fated
14:11Flight 815
14:12has a tougher road
14:14than many of his
14:14fellow castaways.
14:16Michael comes into the story
14:17as a sympathetic character,
14:19a father to a young boy
14:20named Walt.
14:21But after he's kidnapped
14:22by the others,
14:23they use his love
14:24for Walt against him.
14:26I'm sorry.
14:28For what?
14:34Things come to a head
14:35when he betrays
14:36his fellow survivors
14:37and shoots Anna Lucia
14:39and Libby dead.
14:41He ultimately trades
14:42their lives for his
14:43and Walt's freedom
14:44from the island.
14:45Michael's attempted
14:46redemption arc
14:47in a later episode
14:48didn't do much good either.
14:50It's game time.
14:51Are you in or out?
14:59I'm in.
15:00Number 16.
15:01Donna doesn't go to college.
15:03That 70s show.
15:04In season 6,
15:06Eric Foreman
15:06puts his girlfriend
15:07Donna on a bus
15:08to begin her college career
15:10while he stays behind
15:11to help look after
15:12his ailing father.
15:13But as the bus pulls away,
15:15Donna's still on the sidewalk.
15:17She says she can't
15:18leave him behind.
15:19Eric's ecstatic
15:21and so is the studio audience.
15:23Donna?
15:24What?
15:25I couldn't do it.
15:26But viewers are still
15:27divided on the twist.
15:29The thought of Donna
15:29giving up a promising education
15:31for her boyfriend
15:32still doesn't sit well
15:33with many today.
15:35It just seems
15:35so out of character.
15:37She would later
15:38end up going to college,
15:39but this decision
15:40ultimately skewed
15:41a disposition
15:42we once thought
15:43we knew so well.
15:44Donna,
15:44I think we were about
15:45to make a huge mistake.
15:49Yeah,
15:50I know what you mean.
15:52I had a bad feeling too.
15:54Number 15,
15:55Andrea gets with the governor,
15:57The Walking Dead.
15:58Up until season 3,
16:00Andrea Harrison's
16:01character development
16:01from frightened survivor
16:03to badass zombie killer
16:05was one of The Walking Dead's
16:06storytelling triumphs.
16:08Then the governor thing happened.
16:09The governor leads
16:10the town of Woodbury
16:11with an iron fist.
16:13So what's your real name?
16:15If it's not asking too much.
16:22I never tell.
16:23He kidnaps Andrea
16:24and within a few episodes
16:26they enter a romantic relationship.
16:28From then on,
16:30she's on a course
16:30for destruction
16:31that sees her making
16:32some pretty foolish choices.
16:34She acts as a peace broker
16:35between her fellow survivors
16:37and the governor's minions,
16:39which leads to more conflict
16:40and ultimately her death.
16:43Viewers were upset
16:44to see the character
16:45reduced to a clueless pawn
16:46when she'd grown so much.
16:49I'm not planning on dying.
16:50No, neither am I.
16:51It just happens.
16:56Other things happen.
16:57Number 14,
16:58Miranda cheats.
17:00And just like that.
17:01We are all Carrie
17:02when she asks Miranda
17:04how long she's been unhappy
17:05in her marriage.
17:06So much of Miranda's story
17:08has been about
17:08finding happiness
17:09with her husband.
17:10She doesn't seem to even process
17:12the gravity of her own affair.
17:14What are you doing?
17:15I'm, I'm, I'm,
17:16I'm getting clean sheets
17:18and I'm going to get
17:18all that stuff off of the bed
17:20and, and what are you doing?
17:22It's not just surprising
17:23that she'd end her marriage
17:24this way.
17:25It's really annoying.
17:26It also doesn't help
17:28that the person she cheats with,
17:29Che Diaz,
17:30is a highly controversial character
17:32and Miranda's husband,
17:33Steve,
17:34is almost universally beloved.
17:36This ain't never coming off.
17:39I don't care what Miranda does
17:41and we all
17:44till death do us part.
17:46There's something to be said
17:47for the trials of marriage.
17:48However,
17:49Miranda's affair with Che
17:50feels under thought
17:51and under baked.
17:53Number 13,
17:55Dan's Unfaithful,
17:56Roseanne.
17:57In season nine,
17:58the show's original final season,
18:00the Connor family won the lottery
18:02and ditched their humble beginnings.
18:04But the one constant
18:05was the bickering in Roseanne
18:07and Dan's marriage.
18:08That changes when Dan
18:10goes to California
18:11to take care of his sick mother
18:12and falls in love with her nurse.
18:14You gotta believe this.
18:15I did not go looking for this.
18:17I didn't plan on this.
18:18If I had a choice,
18:19this wouldn't happen.
18:20If you had a choice,
18:21you didn't really just say that to me,
18:22did you?
18:23Sorry, I'm sorry.
18:23Once he finally comes clean,
18:25we feel as betrayed as Roseanne does.
18:28It's a well-acted scene,
18:30but it's hard to swallow
18:31that after all the years of Dan
18:32being a dependable
18:33and loving husband and father,
18:35he does this.
18:37Maybe it's for the best
18:38to write this one off
18:39as a big fever dream.
18:40The very last thing
18:41I would have ever expected
18:42out of you, Dan.
18:47Your duty is over.
18:49You're free.
18:51Number 12.
18:52Dan is Gossip Girl.
18:53Gossip Girl.
18:54Fans were left shocked
18:55when the mystery identity
18:56of the eponymous blogger
18:58was revealed in the series finale.
19:00Yes, it makes no sense
19:01given how Dan Humphrey
19:03has behaved throughout
19:04Gossip Girl's six seasons.
19:05But more than that,
19:07it makes him come across
19:07like a total sociopath.
19:09I could write myself into it.
19:13I'd overheard enough conversations
19:15to be able to mimic
19:16the language of the Constance girls,
19:17but every writer needs his muse.
19:19If he is Gossip Girl,
19:21that means Dan is responsible
19:22for some of his best friend's
19:24worst secrets being leaked.
19:26His reasoning doesn't even make sense.
19:28If he wanted to get closer to Serena,
19:30why did he spend several years
19:32trashing her in his blog?
19:34I think you're just mad
19:35because Dan was the one
19:36who was pulling the strings all along.
19:38This whole time,
19:39I had more power than you.
19:40But what he did with that power
19:42was write a love letter,
19:43not just to me,
19:44but to all of us.
19:45It's a twist, all right,
19:46but the jury's pretty much unanimous
19:48about whether it's a good one.
19:50Number 11.
19:51Rachel quits her dream role,
19:53Glee.
19:54Rachel Berry clawed her way
19:55from high school outcast
19:56to Broadway sensation
19:58in record time.
19:59However, once she lands
20:01the role of Fanny Bryce,
20:02the very same one
20:03that made her idol,
20:04Barbara Streisand, famous,
20:06it's not her talent
20:07that blows it for her.
20:08It's her ego.
20:09When she decides
20:10she'd rather be on TV,
20:12she leaves the stage behind.
20:14I know I made a mistake,
20:15but I had an opportunity
20:17come my way,
20:18and I just, I thought...
20:19Oh, yeah.
20:20Mm-hmm, mm-hmm, mm-hmm,
20:22mm-hmm, you thought.
20:23The problem for many viewers
20:25is that they wanted Rachel
20:26to finally be humbled,
20:27and each time it felt like
20:29she was finally going
20:30to learn a lesson,
20:31the show let her off the hook.
20:32By season five,
20:33everyone had had enough.
20:35We want to create
20:36a TV show around you, Rachel.
20:38We don't know what it is,
20:39but, uh, man,
20:40we'll figure that out.
20:41Are you serious?
20:42Yes, Rachel, I am serious.
20:44Number 10.
20:45Sylvie kills he who remains,
20:48Loki.
20:49Incredible.
21:00Sorry, Sylvie,
21:02you're no longer allowed
21:02to make executive decisions
21:04for the multiverse.
21:05She spent the entire
21:06first season of Loki
21:07slowly dropping her walls,
21:09to the point we may have even said
21:11she was making friends.
21:12However, when finally confronted
21:13with Big Bad Kang,
21:15her blinding need for revenge
21:17took over.
21:17She throws caution,
21:19her plan,
21:20and the entire multiverse
21:21to the wind.
21:22And for what?
21:23All to fall right
21:24into Kang's hands.
21:25It's a selfish,
21:26frustrating turn of events
21:27from a character
21:28that was definitely
21:29becoming a fan favorite.
21:30Unfortunately,
21:31potentially dooming reality
21:33to settle a score
21:34is pretty hard to get past.
21:36But I'm not you.
21:42Number 9.
21:43Deb's feelings for Dexter.
21:45Dexter.
21:46He may be a serial killer,
21:47but Dexter Morgan
21:48has a soft spot
21:49for his adopted sister.
21:50And after six seasons,
21:52we learned just how much
21:53of a soft spot
21:54she had for him.
21:56It's your safe place.
21:57Yeah.
21:58Since we were kids.
21:59Debra Morgan was a character
22:01who brought out
22:01the human side of Dexter.
22:03But in the sixth season,
22:04she realized she was
22:06in love with him,
22:07kicking off a bizarre
22:08turn of events
22:09in a show that was
22:09no stranger to
22:10bizarre turns of events.
22:12God, you can't keep
22:13doing this to me.
22:15I've almost lost you twice.
22:21I love you.
22:22Murder was one thing,
22:24but this was a bridge
22:25too far for many viewers.
22:27Debra's devotion
22:28to Dexter before
22:28was adorable,
22:29if sad.
22:31Adding this unnecessary layer
22:32only made it
22:33incredibly disturbing.
22:34Thankfully,
22:35it didn't last too long.
22:36It's like I've always
22:37been looking for
22:38someone like Dexter
22:40or someone who's
22:40the opposite of Dexter
22:42as a way to avoid
22:43the fact that
22:44I'm in love with him.
22:45Number eight,
22:46Nate betrays Ted.
22:47Ted Lasso.
22:48Head coach Ted Lasso
22:50treated his coaching
22:51staff like family.
22:52Among them was
22:53Nate Shelley,
22:54his protege
22:54and assistant coach.
22:56However,
22:56Nate quickly grew
22:57jealous of Ted
22:58and it all boiled over
22:59in this penultimate
23:00season two episode.
23:02Try out your fake nine.
23:04False nine.
23:05Hey, this looks very nice.
23:08Here we go again.
23:09Give Ted yet another idea
23:11he'll take all the credit for.
23:12In a shocking
23:12and heartbreaking turn,
23:14Nate betrayed Ted
23:15by leaking news
23:16of his anxiety attacks
23:17to the press.
23:18It was a rare moment
23:19of viciousness
23:20from a character
23:21we'd come to love.
23:22You sure as hell
23:23don't belong here.
23:26I do.
23:28I belong here.
23:30This didn't just
23:30fall into my lap.
23:31I earned this.
23:33Nevertheless,
23:34just like all things
23:35on Ted Lasso,
23:36the fallout
23:36ultimately concluded
23:37on a gentle note.
23:39Despite the betrayal
23:39and hurt,
23:40Ted and Nate
23:41eventually reconciled.
23:43Although the incident
23:43made fans
23:44completely second-guess
23:45the show's central
23:46theme of kindness.
23:48It's okay.
23:48No, please, please.
23:50Can you just let me say it?
23:53I'm sorry.
23:54Number seven.
23:56Carrie breaks up
23:56with Aiden.
23:57Sex and the city.
23:59The columnist
23:59at the center
24:00of this HBO comedy
24:01set in New York City
24:02often left us
24:03scratching our heads.
24:05Carrie's ongoing
24:06will-they-won't-they
24:07relationship with Mr. Big
24:08made for some rich drama,
24:10but it also hindered
24:11our understanding
24:12of her character.
24:13Wow.
24:14What's wrong with you?
24:19I get it.
24:21You've never been in love.
24:22The most egregious example
24:24of her self-serving behavior
24:25came when she broke up
24:27with Aiden,
24:27whom the show made out
24:28to be a near-perfect guy.
24:30He was sweet,
24:32handsome,
24:32and attentive.
24:33Qualities that stood
24:34in contrast to Big,
24:36who could be cold
24:37and infuriating.
24:38Aiden even forgave Carrie
24:40when she cheated
24:41on him with Big.
24:42I am yours.
24:43There is nobody else.
24:46I love you,
24:47but I can't marry you
24:48to make you trust me.
24:49So when she abruptly
24:50decided to end
24:51their relationship,
24:52it didn't make any sense.
24:54Suddenly,
24:55Carrie's hopeless romanticism
24:56just seemed ridiculous.
24:58Can't believe
24:58I'm back here again.
25:00Number six,
25:01Rory drops out of Yale.
25:02Gilmore Girls.
25:04If Lorelai Gilmore
25:05wanted anything,
25:06it was to see her daughter
25:07attend an Ivy League school
25:08and not become
25:09the spoiled rich kid
25:11her parents envisioned.
25:12This is for the best.
25:14Listen,
25:15I've got to get back.
25:16We have a big staff meeting
25:17in a few minutes
25:17and I want to get back
25:18and make sure everything's
25:19set up and ready.
25:20Well, see you tonight,
25:21my one and only offspring.
25:22Well, as it turns out,
25:23those two things
25:24might go hand in hand.
25:25Having grown up believing
25:26she was inherently exceptional,
25:28Rory's response
25:29to a rotten internship experience
25:31was to impulsively steal a yacht
25:33and then act indignant
25:35when forced to take accountability.
25:37Nice and seaworthy?
25:38Not ours to take.
25:41That ever stopped you before?
25:44I think I've been a bad influence
25:45on you, Ace.
25:46Her decision to drop out of Yale
25:47was the culmination
25:48of a series of bad choices
25:50driven by a bruised ego.
25:52Now,
25:52we can cut her some slack
25:53due to her young age,
25:54but as any fan would tell you,
25:56Rory lost some of her shine
25:58after this incident.
25:59You're making a mistake.
26:00No, I'm not.
26:01This is normal.
26:02College kids take breaks
26:03like this all the time.
26:04You didn't go to college,
26:05so you don't understand.
26:06No, I didn't go to college.
26:07Number five,
26:08Fiona endangers Liam.
26:10Shameless.
26:11Shameless threw so much
26:13at Fiona Gallagher,
26:14handing her the unofficial
26:15responsibility of sole parent
26:17over her multiple siblings.
26:19I'm not asking for your pity
26:21or your admiration.
26:23I just want to be able
26:24to give these kids
26:25everything that they deserve
26:26because they're great kids.
26:28Given her circumstances,
26:29we forgave her
26:30when she occasionally
26:31went off the rails.
26:32In a show full of characters
26:34constantly going off the rails,
26:35Fiona's missteps
26:36kind of felt earned.
26:38However,
26:38in season four,
26:39her actions took
26:40a more troubling turn
26:41as she cheated on her boyfriend
26:43with his brother
26:43and ended up in possession
26:45of narcotics.
26:46He's gonna be okay, right?
26:47Her youngest brother Liam
26:49accidentally ingests
26:50the drugs
26:51she carelessly left out,
26:53resulting in his hospitalization
26:54and Fiona's arrest.
26:56Watching her grapple
26:57with overwhelming guilt
26:58was moving,
26:59but it was the natural conclusion
27:00to a series
27:01of really dumb decisions.
27:03Mr. Gallagher?
27:04Gotta go.
27:06Please tell him
27:07that I love him, okay?
27:07And I'm so, so sorry.
27:09Please, please.
27:11Number four,
27:12we were on a break.
27:13Friends.
27:14Hindsight is 20-20.
27:16Ross Geller was a lovable
27:17if somewhat goofy
27:19paleontologist
27:20who spent the whole series
27:21pining after Rachel.
27:22Even when he was marrying
27:24another woman.
27:24Aye, Ross.
27:26Aye, Ross.
27:27Take thee, Emily.
27:29Take thee, Rachel.
27:35Emily.
27:36But when the two
27:36were broken up,
27:37or on a break
27:38depending on who you ask,
27:39and Ross slept
27:40with someone else,
27:41a lot of people started
27:42to see he wasn't
27:43all he was cracked up to be.
27:45Then, on top of that,
27:46he almost expects her
27:47to be grateful
27:48for his efforts
27:49to keep the affair hidden.
27:50Like, I wanted him
27:51to tell you,
27:52I ran all over the place
27:53trying to make sure
27:53that didn't happen.
27:57Oh, that is so sweet.
28:00I think I'm falling in love
28:02with you all over again.
28:05Ross continuously
28:05digging his heels in
28:07over the semantics
28:08may have launched
28:09a catchphrase,
28:10but it also really
28:11made him look like a jerk.
28:12Oh, I'm sorry.
28:13Were you speaking to me
28:13or sleeping with someone else?
28:17We were on a break.
28:18You know, Ross,
28:19why don't you just put
28:20that on your answering machine?
28:22Hey, hey, it's valid, okay?
28:23Number three,
28:24Spike attacks Buffy,
28:26Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
28:27Prior to this season six episode,
28:30Spike the Vampire
28:31was a fan favorite.
28:32The forbidden romance
28:33between him and his slayer,
28:35Buffy, was fraught
28:35and teased out
28:36for most of the series.
28:38Are you hurt?
28:39You're not moving so well.
28:42Get out.
28:43We have to talk.
28:46I really don't.
28:48However,
28:48the dynamic took
28:49a darker turn
28:50in this particular episode
28:51when Spike makes
28:52aggressive advances
28:53towards Buffy
28:54before pinning her
28:55to the floor.
28:56If their relationship
28:57wasn't doomed
28:58before among the fans,
29:00this incident seemed
29:00to seal the deal
29:01for many.
29:02What have I done?
29:03Despite the show's
29:04array of frightening
29:05monsters from hell,
29:06this was perhaps
29:07the most unsettling moment
29:08across all seven seasons.
29:10Actor James Marsters,
29:12who portrayed Spike,
29:13found the scene
29:14so difficult to shoot
29:15that he vowed
29:16to never do
29:17anything similar again.
29:18And she shall look
29:19on him with forgiveness
29:23and everybody
29:24will forgive and love.
29:26Number two,
29:27Alex Leaves Joe
29:28for Izzy,
29:29Grey's Anatomy.
29:30Dr. Alex Karev
29:31arrived at Seattle
29:32Grey's Hospital
29:33as a cocky
29:34and generally
29:35unlikable intern.
29:36Over the next 16 seasons,
29:39we witnessed his transformation
29:40into a caring
29:41and loving partner
29:42to Dr. Izzy Stevens.
29:44Today I become a husband.
29:46Today I become accountable
29:48to someone
29:49other than myself.
29:52Today I become
29:52accountable to you.
29:54After Katherine Heigl,
29:55the actress
29:56who portrayed Izzy,
29:57exited the show,
29:58viewers had to adjust
29:59to Karev's tumultuous romance
30:01with Dr. Joe Wilson.
30:03However,
30:03all of that progress
30:04was undone
30:05when Karev abruptly
30:06left Joe
30:07via a letter.
30:08The last thing on earth
30:09I want to do
30:10is hurt you.
30:12But I'm leaving.
30:14I already left actually.
30:17I'm gone.
30:18Not only did he depart
30:19without a proper goodbye,
30:21but he also reunited
30:22with Izzy,
30:23who had left him
30:23years before
30:24and had been raising
30:25his secret children
30:26the whole time.
30:27Even fans of Karev
30:29and Izzy's relationship
30:30thought it was
30:30an unfortunate mishandling
30:32of a key character's exit.
30:34And I'm applying
30:35to the hospital nearby.
30:38I wanted to be
30:39Manna Dizzy
30:40for keeping them from me,
30:41but I can't
30:42because all I am
30:43is grateful
30:43she made them.
30:45Number 1.
30:46Daenerys destroys
30:47King's Landing.
30:48Game of Thrones.
30:49Witnessing the conclusion
30:50of HBO's
30:51epic fantasy series
30:52was bittersweet
30:53for us all.
30:54Jaime Lannister's
30:55character development
30:56was all but undone
30:57by his decision
30:58to die with his sister,
30:59Cersei.
31:00Nothing else
31:01matters.
31:04Nothing else matters.
31:07Only us.
31:08Daenerys Targaryen,
31:09on the other hand,
31:10always bore a bit
31:11of her family's darkness.
31:13Instead of taking us
31:13on that ride with her
31:15and delving into
31:15the corrosive nature
31:16of hatred,
31:17the show chose
31:18to fast-track her descent
31:19into a snarling madwoman.
31:21The next time
31:22you fail me,
31:24will be the last
31:25time you fail me.
31:26In the penultimate episode,
31:28audiences watched
31:29in horror
31:29as she ordered
31:30her army
31:31and her dragons
31:32to ravage
31:33the city of King's Landing.
31:34We were always
31:35destined to fall
31:36out of love
31:37with Daenerys,
31:38but the rushed
31:38final season
31:39made it impossible
31:40to really process
31:41that loss.
31:42What about everyone else?
31:46All the other people
31:47who think they know
31:47what's good.
31:51they don't get to choose.
31:53Which moment
31:54flipped a switch for you?
