00:19China's Shanxi Province hosted the International Cultural Heritage Protection Week under the
00:25theme, Unity for Prosperity, Heritage for Eternity.
00:29The event brought together specialists, researchers and international media representatives in
00:37the historical city of Yuzi to discuss the preservation, transmission and promotion of cultural heritage.
00:45For the past, I think, 30 years, China and the government, especially the government,
00:51and they got lots of achievement on the built heritage conservation, like historic city
00:59and towns, villages, buildings, because we have plenty of the heritage and long time history,
01:08and 70 percent of our built heritage, wooden built heritage, is in Shanxi.
01:14So Shanxi is a very important province for China.
01:18The program also included visits to historical sites across Shanxi, where participants experienced
01:26the province's rich architectural and cultural heritage, as well as artistic performance connecting
01:34the past with the present.
02:00The week also featured thematic exhibitions, activities for young people, and audiovisual projections
02:08on historic sites, bringing together the past, memory and technology.
02:19As the Shanxi Institute of Ancient Architecture, we are responsible for the protection, conservation,
02:26revitalization and dissemination of the province's immovable cultural heritage.
02:31For the past 20 years, we have largely completed the emergency protection of historic buildings
02:37with the highest scientific, artistic and historical value.
02:42Now, our greatest challenge is how to revitalize them, disseminate their value,
02:47and pass them on to future generations.
02:50Through initiatives like this, China seeks to preserve a cultural heritage of universal value.
02:58By protecting its historical sites, the country promotes cultural awareness, revitalizes cities,
