00:00In a vast, empty field, a confused knight called Diaz wonders if he's getting pranked.
00:05Over a month ago, he had returned home from a successful victory in war.
00:09As a reward, the king of his nation granted him a large domain of his own to live in and
00:14manage.
00:15Now, Diaz realizes that he got scammed,
00:17since the king basically kicked him out of the capital to live in a giant patch of empty land.
00:23With no further instructions from the king, Diaz thinks he's free,
00:26so he wanders around the field, searching for food and other resources.
00:30After a short while, he comes across a clear stream and enjoys the refreshing water from it.
00:36Then, he continues to search the land until it's night.
00:39Having found no food or resources, he lies down to rest,
00:42thinking that he'll leave the domain if the entire region is empty.
00:46The next morning, an Oni girl called Alna interrupts his sleep,
00:50kicking him and demanding to know what he's doing in her land.
00:53Diaz gets confused, since there was nobody around him the other day.
00:57She doesn't care about his confusion and keeps interrogating him to learn his origins.
01:02Diaz tells her that he's literally homeless, so the girl gets skeptical of him.
01:06She asks him what he was doing in her land anyway,
01:09so he truthfully explains that he was sent by someone to live there.
01:13He then tells her that his only current goal is to survive until the next day.
01:17As Alna refuses to believe him, Diaz tells her about his dreams.
01:21He explains that his late parents asked him to help others and protect the weak as their final wish,
01:27which he took as his dream goal.
01:29Although Alna expected Diaz to be lying about his noble goal,
01:32her horn starts glowing blue, which forces her to believe him.
01:36In contrast, Diaz is a pure man, and he doesn't understand why the girl was suspecting him.
01:42She asks him if he's a friend or an enemy,
01:44but he reminds her that he's neither of those things since they've both just met.
01:48For some reason, Diaz's reasonable words just make her even angrier.
01:53He wonders why she's so frustrated.
01:55Then, he remembers that she's living in her domain, so she's one of his own subjects.
01:59Thinking that the girl is testing his sincerity to his subjects,
02:03he seriously declares that he is her loyal ally to comfort her.
02:07He promises to protect the girl from her enemies, no matter who they are,
02:11which causes her horn to shine radiantly.
02:13Even the girl is surprised by the intensity of Diaz's sincerity,
02:17and she suddenly drags him away somewhere.
02:20Soon, they enter a village of Ana's.
02:22Diaz wonders why he couldn't find the village earlier,
02:25but he's given no time to react as the girl drags him to her chief's house.
02:30Inside, the chieftain is surprised that Alna brought an outsider,
02:33since she's usually very careful around strangers.
02:36Alna tells her that her horn never turned red,
02:39and instead glowed a brilliant blue as he declared himself an ally.
02:43Hearing this, the chieftain asks Diaz if he will become her ally as well.
02:48He accepts, saying that he's the ally of everyone living in the village.
02:52However, when Diaz starts to explain that the king sent him,
02:55Alna gets up in a rage and points an arrow at him.
02:59The chieftain stops her since they haven't heard Diaz's full story,
03:02but she also glares at him and demands a full explanation.
03:06He stays calm under the threat and explains that his parents always told him to help others
03:11and protect the weak.
03:12Since they passed away early, Diaz was left an orphan.
03:16He gathered the other orphans in town to live together,
03:18and they survived by performing small chores and hunting weak monsters.
03:23As Diaz grew older, a war broke out with the neighboring nation,
03:27so he took his fighting skills to the battlefield.
03:29There, he displayed an incredible natural talent for fighting,
03:33so he quickly rose through the ranks.
03:35After 20 years of a bitter war, Diaz returned victorious,
03:38and the king granted him this empty domain as a reward.
03:42The chieftain nods, believing that he's sincere about ruling his domain.
03:46She then asks him if he'd still be her ally if she and her people were not subjects of his
03:52kingdom.
03:52Diaz smiles, saying that he'll still protect her as a neighbor.
03:56At his words, the chieftain's horn also glows blue, so Alna lowers her bow.
04:00Diaz wonders why she asked him such a strange question, and then he realizes something.
04:06The chieftain agrees, admitting that she and her people are not his subjects.
04:10In fact, her tribe is actually the enemy of his kingdom.
04:13Despite their circumstances, the chieftain thinks Diaz can be her ally since his aura is so blue.
04:19Before he decides to do anything, she asks him to hear her out.
04:22After introducing herself as Maul,
04:24she explains that her people were kicked out of the grassland over 50 years ago.
04:29Ever since then, they've been at war with his kingdom, trying to win their land back.
04:33Diaz wonders how they can live undetected within the kingdom's domain,
04:37so she explains that her species can use magic stored within their horns.
04:42To demonstrate, she goes invisible with a spell, leaving him stunned.
04:45Then, she also reveals that her people can easily conceal their entire village with the same magic.
04:51Diaz finally understands why he couldn't detect the village before,
04:55but he wonders why Maul is exposing such sensitive information to him.
05:00The chieftain smiles, saying that she wouldn't have trusted him if her horn didn't glow blue.
05:04It turns out that the Onis can detect the intentions of other species by relying on their horns.
05:10If a person has no bad intentions towards them, their horns remain colorless.
05:15However, if they have malicious intentions, their horns would turn red to warn them.
05:19Sometimes, a person might cause a blue glow, which means they are friendly towards the Oni people.
05:25Despite this, if the good-intentioned person begins to have evil intentions,
05:29the horn would immediately taint the blue color with red.
05:32Since Diaz never caused their horns to show the slightest shade of red,
05:36she thinks he's a completely trustworthy person.
05:39In fact, she thinks he's a simple-minded fool,
05:42because he's still trying to honor his dead parents' wishes.
05:45Although Diaz is confused, Maul offers to help him rule his domain,
05:49promising to give him a house, some food, and some livestock to begin his life.
05:54In return, she hopes that he can keep her village secret from the king.
05:58Diaz accepts her offer and promises to protect her people as long as they don't threaten his
06:03kingdom.
06:03Maul is satisfied with his attitude, so she orders Alna to go with him and show him the
06:08ways of their village.
06:10Alna nods at first, but then she gets shocked after realizing her orders.
06:14Maul reminds her that she brought Diaz in the first place, so it's her job to look after him.
06:19Though she is frustrated, Alna agrees.
06:21Afterward, she goes out with Diaz and gets some villagers to build a house for him.
06:26In just a few hours, the villagers efficiently build a house with a wooden structure.
06:31Diaz is surprised by their speed, so Alna explains that her people aren't always able to hide.
06:37For this reason, they build their houses with lightweight structures so they can be easily
06:41removed in case of an emergency.
06:43Once the house is set up, Alna tells him that the food and livestock will be sent to him later.
06:49She offers to help him with the livestock later, so Diaz thanks her.
06:53However, he feels a bit concerned about the number of subjects in his territory and asks
06:58her if she's got a way to increase their population.
07:01Alna doesn't understand why he even wants more subjects, especially since food is limited
07:06in their empty land.
07:07She asks him how he'd take care of an increasing population, so Diaz realizes his mistake.
07:13She then gives him a bag of strange dust, explaining that it's a special bait that can attract wild
07:18animals.
07:19Alna tells Diaz to take the dust and spread it away from the village, and she explains that
07:24he can earn more money for every beast he gets.
07:27The brawny-headed Diaz smiles, happy to get a job that requires muscles instead of brains.
07:32A few minutes later, after going out for a good distance, he decides it is finally time
07:37to start hunting.
07:38However, since Alna never told him how much dust to use, he just spreads the entire bag
07:43like an idiot.
07:44This attracts an entire herd of wild cattle, but Diaz is only excited by the challenge.
07:50He lifts his axe and welcomes the herd, tearing through the beasts as if they're nothing.
07:54After hunting half a herd, the rest of the beasts run away, so Diaz is left with the corpses
07:59of their beloved relatives.
08:01Unfortunately, he finally remembers that he also has to carry the heavy beasts back home,
08:06without a wagon to transport them.
08:08He leaves the other beasts behind and carries just a single one.
08:12As Diaz walks home, he feels worried that Alna will be upset with him, since she easily
08:17gets annoyed by his antics.
08:19To his surprise, she is pleased to see the giant beast.
08:22Since meat is a rare resource in her village, seeing his disappointed look, Alna wonders what's
08:28wrong.
08:28So he explains that he had to leave over three dozen beasts behind.
08:32Hearing how strong he is, she is shocked and instantly rethinks her opinion of him.
08:37Maul comes out as well and praises Diaz for his manly display.
08:41Alna agrees, and she runs off to alert the villagers so they can carry the rest of the
08:46beasts back.
08:47Diaz wonders what Maul means by manliness, so she explains that it's simply a man's ability
08:52to work.
08:53The more a man is able to work and earn, the manlier he is in the eyes of her tribe's
08:58women.
08:58After learning this, Diaz understands why Alna seems so pleased with him.
09:03But he thinks that looks and personality matter as well.
09:06Maul disagrees, saying that neither looks nor personality put food on the table.
09:11Diaz understands where she's coming from.
09:13He realizes that for a small tribe, food and survival are the only important things, compared
09:18to the people living in the kingdom.
09:20Then, Maul tells him that he'll need to work a bit harder if he wants to marry a beauty like
09:25Alna.
09:25He gets embarrassed and acts like that wasn't his intention, so she starts teasing him
09:30even more.
09:31The next day, Diaz wakes up from the smell of fresh breakfast in his room.
09:35He finds Alna cooking for him, smiling in a completely submissive manner compared to earlier.
09:41After having breakfast, he praises her cooking, which causes her to blush.
09:45Watching him eat so closely, Alna is unable to bear the tension, so she changes the topic
09:50to hunting again.
09:51She explains that her tribe still needs a well for water and an outhouse to host guests,
09:56which will help Diaz expand his domain.
09:59However, the village does not have enough money to pay the craftsmen, so Diaz agrees
10:03to hunt for them.
10:04Alna asks him to hunt some monsters, so he thinks about it.
10:08Although monster meat is toxic and inedible, their rare materials sell for incredible prices.
10:14Diaz agrees to hunt, wondering if the peaceful grassland even has any monsters.
10:18Alna reveals that she can sense monsters with her magic horn, but Diaz refuses to put her
10:24in danger.
10:25However, she insists on going with him, so he agrees to take her.
10:29Later, as Diaz takes care of his cattle, some village men bring over food and blankets for
10:34him.
10:34Feeling the respect from them, he realizes that this village truly cares about the men who
10:39can protect them.
10:40Just then, Alna comes out of his hut after preparing for the journey.
10:44Diaz realizes that she's put on some makeup, while the other men get jealous.
10:48Meanwhile, Alna smiles, saying that the other men will take care of the cattle while they're
10:53out hunting.
10:54Both of them move out, and after reaching a rocky hill, Alna chants her magic to scout
10:59for monsters.
11:00A strange blue light surrounds her, which alerts her to the location of a nearby monster.
11:05Diaz nods and tells Alna to hide while he hunts the beast, but she refuses.
11:10Instead, she offers to help him while using her concealment, so he agrees to let her fight.
11:16After a short while, they find the monster, which looks like a giant turtle.
11:20Alna's eyes grow wide with shock, since she knows it's actually an earth dragon.
11:25However, Diaz doesn't share her fear.
11:27Despite her warnings, he jumps out to fight and tells her to remain behind.
11:31As the dragon notices him, he jumps on its back and whacks its hard shell.
11:36The impact fails to leave a single scratch, and instead breaks the tip of his axe.
11:40Diaz tries to attack the dragon's weak points, but it retreats into its shell for defense.
11:46Alna suggests running away while he still has the chance, since an earth dragon can wipe
11:51out an entire troop of men on its own.
11:54Diaz refuses to run since he's still got more tricks up his sleeve.
11:58He decides to whack the same spot until it cracks, and begins hammering away at the turtle's
12:03back.
12:03After a while of banging his axe uselessly, the blade starts cracking.
12:07Alna gets worried for him, but Diaz remains confident in his weapon.
12:12Since his axe is a special weapon used by a former shogun, it possesses the ability to
12:17repair light damage using a mending spell.
12:19However, Diaz can only force it to quickly repair itself with magic, so he mends it in
12:24front of Alna's shocked eyes.
12:26He then continues to pound the dragon's back relentlessly.
12:29Eventually, the toxic miasma radiating from the dragon condenses into the area, and Alna
12:35starts to feel sick.
12:36Realizing she's in danger, he agrees to leave after leaving a final strike.
12:41To his surprise, his final hit actually breaks through the dragon's shell.
12:45Enraged, the creature gets out of its shell and blows a fireball at him.
12:49Diaz dodges the fireball and slashes at the dragon's weak legs.
12:53As he prepares to attack, he realizes that the dragon has spotted Alna.
12:57Knowing that it's outmatched against Diaz, the clever monster targets her instead.
13:02Enraged by its audacity, Diaz jumps into the sky and plunges hard on the dragon.
13:07Tearing through its spine and killing it, Alna immediately tears up at his display of
13:12bravery and rushes into his arms.
13:14Before Diaz can process her hug, she immediately declares that they're getting married.
13:19Diaz returns to the village shortly afterward, and with the help of several Oni villagers,
13:24he drags the earth dragon's massive body through the village.
13:27The villagers proudly announce that Diaz was the one who defeated the earth dragon completely
13:33on his own, and everyone around them begins cheering and praising him for such an amazing
13:38achievement.
13:38After the dragon's body is finally placed down safely, Diaz quietly watches all the villagers
13:44celebrating.
13:45However, he can't help wondering what everyone is so excited about because he doesn't see
13:50defeating the earth dragon as a big deal.
13:52Maul then walks over to Diaz and says she still can't believe he managed to defeat the
13:57earth dragon all by himself.
13:59Diaz simply shrugs it off and says it really wasn't anything special.
14:03Rather than asking for treasure or praise, he says he would rather have a proper well
14:08and a privy built using the value of the earth dragon.
14:11Maul smiles and tells him that won't be a problem at all because just one of the earth dragon's
14:16legs is valuable enough to pay for several wells by itself.
14:20Hearing that finally makes Diaz realize just how incredibly valuable the earth dragon actually
14:26is, Maul then explains that they plan to return many of the dragon's valuable materials back
14:31to Diaz since he was the one who defeated it.
14:34Besides that, they'll also build the extra facilities he asked for and give him several
14:39more gifts as a reward for everything he has done.
14:42However, Diaz's expression gets hard when Maul reminds him to save part of the reward for
14:48Alna's wedding gift.
14:49She says Alna's parents would be delighted to receive something like one of the earth
14:53dragon's claws or one of its large fangs as a gift.
14:57Diaz looks completely confused and honestly has no idea why everyone keeps talking about
15:03marriage.
15:03He asks Maul what all this marriage talk is supposed to mean.
15:07Maul calmly explains that he's going to marry Alna whether he likes the idea or not.
15:12She says Alna is willing to do whatever it takes to build a close relationship with him,
15:17so making him part of the family through marriage is the best option they have.
15:21Maul also tells Diaz that even if he somehow doesn't end up marrying Alna, he won't be
15:26able to avoid the problem because all the other girls in the village will immediately start
15:31surrounding him and trying to win him over instead.
15:34After hearing that, Diaz quickly realizes that would probably become an even bigger problem
15:39than marrying Alna in the first place.
15:41Even so, Maul tells him not to worry because Alna has already gone to speak with her parents
15:46about arranging the marriage.
15:48As soon as Diaz hears that, he realizes that's probably the reason he hasn't seen Alna anywhere
15:54for a while.
15:54He then asks Maul if that means the two of them are officially engaged now.
15:59Maul explains that Oni don't follow the same engagement customs that humans do.
16:04Instead, once both sides agree, they simply get married right away.
16:07Even so, Diaz will still be the one who decides exactly when the marriage actually takes place.
16:13Maul goes on to explain that the stronger the bonds Diaz builds with the village and its
16:18people, the closer he'll come to becoming the next superb lord.
16:22She's putting so much effort into helping Diaz become the superb lord because she knows exactly
16:27what happened the last time.
16:29The previous person chosen for the position turned out to be completely unfit to lead everyone,
16:34and she doesn't want history to repeat itself by allowing another unsuitable person to become
16:39the next lord.
16:40After Maul leaves, Diaz overhears some of the villagers talking about how lucky Alna is to
16:45be marrying someone as strong as him at such a young age, hearing that makes Diaz curious,
16:50so he asks one of them how old Alna actually is.
16:54The moment he learns that she's only 15 years old, his jaw practically drops.
16:58Since he's 35, he's old enough to be her father, making the whole situation even more
17:03shocking to him.
17:04Thankfully, the kingdom has a law that says people must be at least 18 years old before
17:09they can get married.
17:10That means Diaz would only be engaged to Alna for the next three years, and by the time
17:15the wedding finally happens, he'll likely have become a full-fledged lord.
17:19Sitting by himself, Diaz realizes he needs some time to sort out his thoughts and prepare
17:25himself for everything that's happening around him.
17:27Not long after, Alna walks over to him with a bright smile and tells him that everything
17:32has already been arranged.
17:34She then asks what he would like to have for breakfast the next morning.
17:38Diaz simply smiles back and tells her he's fine with anything she decides to make.
17:43However, he never expected that he would end up attending a huge Oni introduction banquet,
17:48where everyone officially welcomed him into the village and celebrated his future with Alna.
17:53Some time after the banquet, the new well and privy were finally completed, and life in the
17:58village gradually settled back into its normal routine.
18:01That afternoon, Diaz finishes building another tent and thinks to himself that he needs to
18:06get much better at making them.
18:08After all, if more people decide to move into the village, he doesn't want any of the new
18:12residents sleeping on the bare ground without proper shelter.
18:16Just then, Alna suddenly walks over to him and says she's sensing a monster coming from
18:21the north.
18:22She explains that it doesn't seem to be a very large monster, but it's definitely moving straight
18:27toward the village.
18:28Diaz calmly says he'll go and deal with it himself, believing it won't take long.
18:32However, Alna insists that she wants to come with him.
18:36Diaz argues that it's too dangerous for her, but after Alna keeps insisting and refuses to
18:41stay behind, he finally gives in and allows her to come along.
18:45Before long, the two of them arrive at the source of the disturbance and discover that the
18:49monster heading toward the village is actually an ogre.
18:52Seeing how large the ogre is, Diaz and Alna realize they need to end the fight as quickly
18:58as possible.
18:59The two of them immediately charge into battle, and Diaz is surprised by how light Alna is
19:04on her feet and how skilled she is with a bow.
19:07She moves around the battlefield with ease while landing accurate shots, and by working
19:12together, the two of them manage to bring the ogre down without too much trouble.
19:16However, the ogre's blood smells absolutely awful.
19:19After the battle, Alna wrinkles her nose and tells Diaz to go wash himself properly because
19:24she's not letting him into the house while he smells like that.
19:28Diaz has no choice but to clean himself up before heading back.
19:32The following day, Diaz is lost in thought as he remembers how disappointing yesterday turned
19:37out to be.
19:38Instead of meeting new people who might become citizens of the village, they only ended up
19:42fighting another dangerous monster.
19:44Just then, Alna suddenly comes running toward him and excitedly announces that they're pregnant
19:50and are going to have little ones.
19:51Though it turns out she was actually talking about Franquois, who had finally become pregnant
19:56after waiting for a very long time.
19:59Alna then reminds Diaz that bars are incredibly intelligent creatures, but that intelligence comes
20:04with a weakness.
20:05They're much more sensitive to fear and emotional stress than most races, and that problem becomes
20:10even worse during pregnancy.
20:12Sometimes the pressure becomes so overwhelming that it can even cost them their lives.
20:17Because of that, Alna suggests that Diaz stay close to Franquois and Francis for a while,
20:22so they can feel safe and supported.
20:24For the time being, they'll all be staying together in the same yurt.
20:28Alna assumes Diaz probably won't like the arrangement because bars become especially smelly during
20:33pregnancy.
20:34To her surprise, Diaz honestly doesn't mind at all and agrees without complaining.
20:39Seeing his reaction makes Alna feel relieved because it shows just how thoughtful and considerate
20:45he really is.
20:46A moment later, Alna's horn suddenly begins to glow, which is a sign that monsters, or
20:51at least unfamiliar visitors, are nearby.
20:54She quickly explains that she can sense ten horses approaching from the east.
20:58Diaz realizes that's the same direction as the royal capital, but he isn't expecting any
21:03visitors, making the situation seem suspicious.
21:06Diaz decides to go and investigate while Alna stays behind to watch over the village.
21:11He quickly runs across the open fields and soon spots the group of travelers.
21:16At first, he prepares himself in case they're enemies, but his attitude changes the moment
21:21he recognizes his old friend Klaus among them.
21:24He immediately greets him with a friendly handshake and asks what he's doing all the way
21:28out here.
21:29Klaus explains that the lady traveling with them is the one who came to see Diaz.
21:34Diaz has no idea who she's supposed to be, but he decides to bring the group back to his
21:39tent so they can talk in private.
21:41While there, he realizes it was a smart decision to hide everything except the yurt he built.
21:46He promised to keep the Oni village a secret, and explaining their existence to outsiders
21:51would have created a lot of unnecessary problems.
21:54Once everyone is settled, the young woman finally introduces herself as Diane, the third
21:59princess of the kingdom.
22:00She politely asks Diaz if his manor is still under construction because she hasn't seen
22:06any servants or signs of a noble's estate nearby.
22:09Diaz simply explains that he doesn't own a manor and has no servants working for him.
22:14The only home he has is the yurt standing in front of them, and even if it doesn't look
22:19very impressive, he spent a great deal of time building it with his own hands.
22:23Diane is surprised to hear that Diaz built everything around him with his own hands, especially because
22:29the king had supposedly given him a huge reward along with an even larger amount of money to
22:34help him get started.
22:35To her surprise, Diaz explains that he never received a single coin from the king.
22:40Instead, he was simply dropped off in the middle of nowhere without even being given food or water
22:46to survive.
22:47Putting that aside, Diaz asks Diane what brought her all the way out to such a remote place.
22:52Diane explains that a war is about to break out around the royal capital, and they've come to ask for
22:58his help because people now see him as the kingdom's heroic savior.
23:02As payment for his help, she even offers to marry him herself as a reward.
23:06However, Diaz has absolutely no interest in getting involved in another war.
23:11With Francois having just become pregnant, he has more important things to protect,
23:15so he calmly turns down her offer and politely asks Diane to leave if that's the only reason she came.
23:22One of Diane's guards becomes furious after hearing Diaz reject the princess's proposal
23:27and tries to intimidate him by swinging his sword.
23:30Before the attack can even reach him, Diaz reacts on pure instinct and knocks the weapon aside with
23:36a single strike, splitting the sword cleanly in half.
23:39The guard immediately prepares to attack again, but Claus quickly steps in and stops him.
23:45He tells the others there's no point trying to fight Diaz because even if every one of them
23:49attacked together, they still wouldn't stand a chance against him.
23:52After the group leaves, Diaz looks around and realizes he may have used a little too much
23:58force.
23:58His attack damaged the floor matting inside the yurt, and he immediately realizes Alna is
24:04definitely going to scold him for making such a mess.
24:07Meanwhile, Diane quietly leaves while holding a grudge against Diaz for refusing both her request
24:12and her marriage offer.
24:14As Diaz steps outside, Alna suddenly reveals herself along with Francis and Francois, who had been
24:20hiding nearby the entire time.
24:22Alna explains that everyone who came with Diane left with a red aura except for one person,
24:28whose aura remained blue.
24:30She explains that a red aura represents hostility, while a blue aura shows trust or affection.
24:35After hearing that, Diaz figures the only person with the blue aura must have been Claus.
24:40The following morning, Diaz wakes up to the smell of breakfast as Alna prepares the morning
24:46meal.
24:46While cooking, she suddenly tells him that there's a human wandering around nearby.
24:50What's strange is that the person doesn't seem to be searching for anything in particular
24:55and is simply walking around without any clear direction.
24:58Diaz assumes it's probably just a traveler who got lost, so he decides to go and check
25:03for himself.
25:04Alna, Francis, and Francois decide to follow him as well, but they use their concealment ability
25:10so they won't be seen by the visitor.
25:12After walking through the valley for a while, Diaz finally spots the traveler and realizes
25:17it's Claus.
25:18When they meet, Diaz immediately notices that Claus is no longer wearing his armor or carrying
25:24his sword.
25:24Claus explains that he had himself dismissed from the army because he didn't want to end
25:29up fighting on the front lines of the coming war.
25:32Instead, he traveled all the way here because he wants to work for Diaz as his personal soldier.
25:37Hearing that, Diaz remembers that Claus was the only person who never looked down on him
25:42for being an orphan.
25:44Even when everyone else treated him differently, Claus always treated him with respect.
25:48Diaz admits that having someone like Claus by his side would be reassuring, but before
25:53making a decision, he feels he should ask Alna what she thinks.
25:57The next moment, Alna suddenly appears out of nowhere, completely catching Claus by surprise.
26:02She tells Diaz there's nothing to worry about because Claus has kept a blue aura the entire
26:08time, proving that he has no hostile intentions.
26:11Claus immediately starts bombarding Diaz with questions about where Alna suddenly came from
26:16and how she appeared out of thin air.
26:18Diaz simply tells him it's a really long story before saying he'll explain everything once
26:24they get back home.
26:25It's now been 10 days since Claus decided to leave his old life behind and start a new one
26:30with Diaz.
26:31During that time, Diaz kindly helped Claus build a yurt of his own so he would have a
26:36proper place to live.
26:37He also gave Claus a spear and a full set of armor made from the materials of the earth
26:42dragon Diaz defeated.
26:44Claus knows these are incredibly valuable gifts that even members of the royal family would
26:49struggle to obtain.
26:50Because of everything Diaz has done for him, Claus promises himself that he'll never betray the
26:56trust Diaz has placed in him.
26:57Later that day, Alna prepares lunch and serves everyone a warm meal.
27:02As Claus eats, he's genuinely impressed by how delicious the food is.
27:06He praises Alna's cooking and tells her that she would make an excellent wife for Diaz.
27:11Hearing such a sincere compliment makes Alna smile, and she happily tells Claus that he's
27:16welcome to have another serving if he'd like.
27:19While they continue eating, Claus addresses Diaz as lord and politely asks him to join the
27:24meal.
27:25Diaz immediately tells Claus that he doesn't have to be so formal all the time and asks
27:30him to simply call him by his name instead.
27:32However, Claus refuses, saying that it's important to make the difference in their positions clear.
27:38Seeing how serious Claus is about it makes Diaz realize that Claus is much more dedicated
27:43and enthusiastic than he first thought.
27:45Just then, Alna's horn suddenly begins glowing green.
27:49She immediately announces that she can sense 12 humans approaching from the east.
27:53As she continues focusing on their presence, Diaz learns that one of the 12 people is extremely
27:59weak and is already on the verge of death.
28:01Hearing that, he decides to head out into the fields and investigate the situation himself.
28:06Claus quickly says he wants to come along and help, but Diaz tells him to stay behind and
28:12protect the village instead.
28:13He explains that someone needs to remain behind in case something unexpected happens.
28:18Diaz adds that if they run into any serious danger, he'll send Alna and Francis back immediately
28:24to warn him.
28:25With that decided, Diaz, Alna and Francis leave the village and head toward the approaching
28:30group.
28:31After watching them disappear into the distance, Claus begins thinking about who these visitors
28:36could be.
28:36He suspects they're probably people sent from the royal capital.
28:40Right now, the kingdom is caught in the middle of a fierce succession dispute between the five
28:45princes and princesses, with each of them fighting to become the next ruler.
28:49Claus remembers that Princess Diane has far less military strength than any of her siblings.
28:54That's probably why she came all the way out here earlier in hopes of recruiting Diaz to fight
29:00on her side.
29:01Claus also starts to suspect that the reason Diaz never received the reward the king promised
29:06him is because the second prince secretly took it for himself.
29:10Claus knows that the conflict between the nobles won't stay in the capital forever.
29:14Eventually, that political struggle will spread to this village as well.
29:18Even so, he doesn't fear what's coming.
29:20Instead, he quietly decides that if the day ever comes, he won't hesitate to fight and
29:25even give his life for Diaz if that's what it takes.
29:28Only a few moments later, Claus is surprised to see Diaz returning much sooner than expected.
29:34Along with a group of exhausted and worn-out refugees, Diaz and Alna immediately begin taking
29:40care of the travelers, making sure everyone has somewhere to rest while giving food and
29:45water to those who need it most.
29:47By the time night falls, Diaz finally explains the situation to Claus.
29:51He reveals that every one of those people had been driven out of the land they once called
29:56home, leaving them with nowhere else to go.
29:58The elderly women in the domain were kicked due to the massive food shortage.
30:03The people believed feeding old people was a waste, so they abandoned them.
30:06When Claus hears this, he quickly realizes the neighboring domain must be the Castex.
30:12He actually passed through that place on his way here, and it was in terrible condition.
30:16The old woman lying on the ground is Granny Maya, who is also their leader.
30:20Diaz explains that she used her fortune-telling ability to find a way for them to survive,
30:26which is how they ended up here.
30:27But instead of seeing this as a problem, Diaz is happy because they have just gained 12 new
30:33subjects for his domain.
30:34Diaz immediately starts building yurts for the new arrivals, but Claus stops him.
30:39He reminds Diaz that these elderly people won't be able to do much work or help the
30:44domain grow.
30:44Diaz simply smiles and says that makes them even more valuable because they can teach
30:49everyone the secrets to living a long life.
30:52Alna agrees with Diaz and says they should warmly welcome their new people.
30:56At that moment, Claus finally understands that this way of thinking is the reason Diaz has
31:01managed to come this far.
31:03Claus remembers his time as a knight during the war.
31:06When things became hopeless, every other soldier decided to run away and save themselves.
31:11Diaz was the only one who stayed behind.
31:14Instead of thinking about himself, he rescued a crying child and safely brought the child
31:18back to his mother.
31:19As enemy soldiers closed in on them, Claus and Diaz fought side by side and defeated the
31:25entire squad by themselves.
31:27Claus ended up covered in injuries after the battle, but Diaz didn't even have a single
31:31scratch.
31:32Even after winning, Diaz was more concerned about calming down a crying baby than celebrating
31:37the victory.
31:38Remembering that day makes Claus realize what a fool he had been.
31:42Back then, he believed the greatest honor was dying for Diaz.
31:46But now he understands that his real purpose is to stay alive and continue supporting him
31:51for as long as he can.
31:53By the next day, Diaz finishes building all the yurts.
31:56So everyone gathers inside one of them for a meeting.
31:59Grandma Maya tells Diaz that the elderly people will still be useful.
32:03When the bar wool starts piling up, they can spin the yarn and turn it into cloth.
32:08Diaz thinks that would be a huge help for the village.
32:11However, everyone notices that Diaz doesn't look very happy, so they ask him what's bothering
32:16him.
32:17Diaz explains that now that he finally has enough people, he wants to officially give their
32:21settlement a name, but he can't come up with one that he likes.
32:25The others quickly suggest calling it Diaz Village, but he refuses because he doesn't
32:29want the village to be named after himself.
32:32Claus then suggests Dragon Slayer Village, but everyone rejects that idea too.
32:37Then Ulna speaks up with another idea.
32:39She suggests calling it Iluk Village, which means the first village in the ancient language.
32:44Diaz immediately likes how it sounds, and everyone agrees that it is the perfect name.
32:50Just like that, their new home officially becomes Iluk Village.
32:53After the meeting ends, Grandma Maya quietly walks over to Diaz.
32:57She can tell he wants to bring more people into the village, so she gives him an idea.
33:02She suggests selling the dragon materials he has collected and using the money to buy some
33:07slaves.
33:08Diaz immediately rejects that idea because he hates slavery.
33:11During the war, he saw countless enslaved soldiers on the battlefield, and every one of
33:16them was treated terribly.
33:17Because of those experiences, he has already decided that the buying and selling of slaves
33:23will be completely banned in his domain.
33:25After hearing his answer, Grandma Maya admits that she only brought up the idea as a test
33:30to see how he would respond.
33:32She apologizes for testing him, but explains that it's because they have suffered under
33:37many cruel people in the past.
33:39Diaz knows she is talking about the Castex.
33:41He promises her that Iluk Village will never become a place like that, and that everyone
33:46living there will be treated with respect.
33:48The next day, a traveling merchant arrives at Diaz's domain.
33:52Diaz is completely surprised when he realizes the merchant is actually a frog.
33:57The merchant climbs down from his horse and introduces himself as Pajan.
34:01He explains that he came to inspect the dragon materials they want to sell.
34:05Diaz looks over at Alnaz Horn and notices that it has turned white, showing that Pajan has
34:11no hostile intentions toward them.
34:13Feeling at ease, Diaz places the dragon materials in front of him.
34:17Pajan is stunned by how enormous they are.
34:19Looking at them more closely, he starts wondering if Diaz is really telling the truth about defeating
34:25such a huge dragon all by himself.
34:27Instead of arguing or trying to convince him with words, Diaz decides to prove it through
34:32action.
34:33He uses his signature attack and slices one of the dragon scales cleanly in half with a single
34:38strike.
34:39Seeing that incredible display of strength is all the proof Pajan needs, he immediately
34:44accepts that Diaz truly was the one who defeated the dragon.
34:47After that, Pajan brings out two young girls and says he hopes Diaz will take them for a
34:53fair price.
34:53Diaz immediately looks at the girls and assumes they are being sold as slaves, which makes
34:58him furious.
34:59Just as he is about to react, Alna grabs his hand and tells him to calm down.
35:04Granny Maya then steps forward and politely tells Pajan that they have no interest in
35:09buying slaves.
35:10Pajan quickly explains the situation.
35:12He says the two girls are not slaves at all.
35:15They are twin sisters, and the village where they were born believed that twins only brought
35:19disaster and bad luck.
35:21Because of that belief, the villagers planned to execute them.
35:24Their parents escaped with the girls and hid deep inside the forest.
35:28As time passed, both of their parents became seriously ill and realized they did not have
35:33much time left.
35:34Before they died, they met Pajan and begged him to take care of the twins.
35:39At first, Pajan refused because he was a merchant, not someone who did charity work.
35:44However, the parents offered him a large amount of money, and he eventually accepted.
35:48Now that all of that money has been spent, continuing to care for the girls has only pushed
35:53him deeper into debt.
35:55With no other choice, he asks Dias to take the twins in.
35:58Alma tells Dias that Pajan is speaking honestly, so Dias agrees to take custody of the girls.
36:04He even offers to repay Pajan for everything he spent while taking care of them.
36:09Pajan is deeply grateful for Dias' kindness.
36:12Dias then gently picks up the two girls and welcomes them to the village.
36:16He asks for their names, and they shyly introduce themselves as Senai and Ihen.
36:21Dias smiles and tells them they both have beautiful names.
36:24He then asks them to go and take a bath with Ulna, so they can get cleaned up before dinner.
36:30After the girls leave, Klaus admits that he is surprised by how naturally Dias gets along
36:35with children.
36:36Dias explains that when he was younger, he acted like an older brother and father figure
36:40to the other orphans, so taking care of children comes naturally to him.
36:45By sunset, Senai and Ihen return after their bath, and Dias notices how clean and refreshed
36:51they look.
36:51At the same time, Granny Maya realizes that the twins are not completely human.
36:56Even so, she feels they will fit in perfectly with everyone living in Iluk village.
37:01A little later, Ulna walks over to the twins and explains that their names have a strong
37:06connection to the moon in the ancient language.
37:09Because of that, she gives each of them an Ahai jewel, saying that the power of the moon
37:13is believed to rest inside those stones.
37:16Hearing those words reminds Senai and Ihen of their parents.
37:19The memory is enough to make both of them burst into tears.
37:23Dias and Ulna immediately hug the girls and comfort them, telling them they no longer have
37:28to worry because they are finally safe.
37:31As the twins spend time getting to know the bars, Ulna quietly tells Dias that Senai and
37:36Ihen do not appear to be fully human.
37:39Dias listens carefully but does not seem bothered by it.
37:42Around 10 days later, the twins have become much more comfortable living in the village.
37:47They can even be seen arguing with each other over a half-eaten potato.
37:51Suddenly, Ulna senses that a single person is riding toward the village on horseback.
37:56Dias says he will go and see who it is.
37:59Before he leaves, Senai and Ihen ask him to come back home safely.
38:03Out in the open field, Dias spots the rider approaching.
38:06Ulna senses a white presence coming from him, meaning he has no hostile intentions.
38:11After reaching them, the man introduces himself as Camelots from the Castex domain.
38:16He explains that the ruler of the Castex, Lord Eldon, wishes to meet with Dias.
38:21Camelots says Lord Eldon is already on his way and asks if it would be alright for the
38:26meeting to take place inside Dias' manor.
38:29Before he can finish speaking, Dias cuts him off and says they will meet right here instead.
38:34Camelots understands his decision and rides away to deliver the message.
38:38As Dias waits, he thinks about the situation.
38:41A newly appointed lord coming here can only mean that the second prince's rebellion was
38:46successful.
38:47Even so, Dias has already made up his mind.
38:50No matter what happens, he will not allow Lord Eldon anywhere near Iluk village.
38:55A short while later, Dias looks into the distance and is shocked when he finally sees Lord Eldon
39:01approaching.
39:01That was episode 3.
