00:36Now, let's watch today's episode of A Peek in Paradise with Kate from Villa Kriashna.
00:46Welcome Bali Interiors, this is Villa Kriashna, my name is Kate and come and take a peek in my paradise.
01:12So, one of the beautiful things about living in Bali is being part of nature and we wanted to make
01:18nature the hero here.
01:19So, as you see us walking around through the rooms, you'll see very low muted tones that actually take your
01:25eye from perhaps the furnishings and everything,
01:28but taking it to the actual river, which is on display all of the time.
01:34Let me show you the living area outside.
01:39So, Villa Gratitude, Villa Kriashna, which is Sanskrit for gratitude, we have two living areas.
01:46One is outside and under cover and one is inside.
01:51One of the greatest joys of living at Villa Kriashna is that we have this incredible dining space and kitchen,
01:59which has also got a butler's kitchen behind.
02:01We created a window at the butler's kitchen so that the staff could be part of the family and the
02:07environment.
02:07And we also believe that whoever is processing or cooking your food needs to have that love and passion in
02:14their heart for where they are and the people that are in the home.
02:18So, we have this beautiful marble top here and gorgeous European fittings on the stove and cooktop.
02:26And then again, everything can be kept tidy behind here in the butler's kitchen.
02:36Villa Kriashna has six bedrooms in all.
02:39There's four in the main part of the house and we have a separate two-story loft villa with its
02:45own pool next door.
02:46So, I'll show you the first two rooms and then I'm going to show you my favorite part of the
02:50house upstairs.
02:55First, we have the VIP room.
02:57This room has its own private area where you can watch television and has its own little lounge suite
03:04and a beautiful combined bathroom with a full bath and outdoor shower.
03:09Come and have a look.
03:14Everybody loves an outdoor bathroom in Bali and combined with this indoor section and high roofs,
03:21there's this great sense of spaciousness in here.
03:24It has its own garden and beautiful stone wall and it really does speak to a modern and
03:31beautiful Bali bathroom.
03:36So, this is guest bedroom number two.
03:39All of the rooms have LAN so you don't have to be hooked into the Wi-Fi.
03:44And we also have charging stations at each room.
03:49We have lights below the bed and lights up in the interior just to give a really beautiful mood
03:54in this warm timber environment.
04:00Let me show you upstairs.
04:06So, the slatted wall up on this second level allows for natural air conditioning through to every room.
04:12Even though we have air conditioning, you seldom need it with the breeze flowing through.
04:20Okay, so welcome to the media room and the office.
04:24It has a giant 70 centimeter TV and once again we have LAN up here so you don't need to
04:30be hooked into Wi-Fi.
04:31Keeping the people in working in this space in a healthy state.
04:36This mesh gangplank leads you all the way to a meditation deck.
04:40The meditation deck is sitting in pool water actually which is recycled back into the pool.
04:46This space gives you a beautiful view of the rice fields and the river.
04:53Welcome to one of the six bathrooms at Villa Crit Ajna.
04:57One of the inspirations that I had for the copper light fittings was I was looking for a chic Moroccan
05:05type
05:05style that was in muted tones that would suit the natural surroundings that we're in.
05:12And I found this gorgeous lampshade here that inspired the setting for this bathroom and then
05:17all of the other light fittings throughout the property.
05:20Let me show you the twin room next door that shares this bathroom.
05:27This is bedroom number three in the main villa of Crit Ajna.
05:32Villa Crit Ajna and it has two single beds.
05:34It has been used as an office as well but the interior design once again has this very subtle
05:40Moroccan chic very muted tones and a gorgeous softness about this room.
05:47I really want to show you the favorite part of the house though which is the master suite so come
05:53with me.
05:56Welcome to the master suite.
05:58This is one of my favorite parts of Villa Crit Ajna.
06:01We have this gorgeous antique jacket on the ceiling and on the floor we've got these beautiful polished
06:06floorboards.
06:08Antique rugs again which I absolutely love and really soft tones and muted tones and linen on the bed.
06:16These beautiful curtains again are blending in with nature.
06:19Again, not taking the eye off the actual hero of this whole house which is the nature.
06:26Built very much like a super yacht, this master bedroom has two bathrooms.
06:32There's one for the head of the house, the male perhaps, and then the other head of the house,
06:38the female, and they're both beautiful areas.
06:41So let me show you. Come this way.
06:46So this is the bathroom that has this Moroccan theme.
06:52There's the copper thread coming throughout.
06:54We have the sand wash floors which are easy to clean.
06:58And then these beautiful teak cabinets in here and the walk-in robe.
07:07So this is the other bathroom in the master suite.
07:11Again, we have this beautiful robe which is made out of teak wood and beautiful timber fan.
07:18We have this massive rain shower here and gorgeous indoor garden.
07:24But there's another surprise.
07:25So let me show you.
07:28Welcome to nature.
07:32So you may have noticed that surrounding the second floor is this waterway.
07:37This is also water from the pool.
07:40So it's quite healthy and it's chlorinated to salt water.
07:45But it actually acts as an air conditioner.
07:48As you open up the windows and doors, the breeze comes across the water and then becomes
07:53air-conditioned the air so it's a lot cooler inside of the house.
07:58And finally in this master suite we have this reading room.
08:03And we also have a private garden outside for you to enjoy the tranquility.
08:08Perhaps if you have guests downstairs you can come up here.
08:11It's like a little parents retreat really.
08:13Just to get away from the hum of day-to-day life and have some privacy.
08:18Or get up in the middle of the night and read a book if that's what you need to do.
08:26The pool was designed to fit in with nature.
08:30So it's got this beautiful organic design to it.
08:33But it also has a beach entry.
08:35We created a beach entry for the dogs.
08:38And there's also a beautiful walkway for young children
08:41and also the elderly if they want to approach the pool.
08:54Every home has its secret.
08:56Come and have a look at Kridajnas.
09:03So as a sound healer it was always a dream to have my own sound dome.
09:08And a place for us to actually have our own massages.
09:12And hold some private events for meditation circles, women's circles, men's circles etc.
09:19The sound dome is made from about four inch terrazzo.
09:23And the floor is actually inlaid terrazzo.
09:27This design was created for me for my original logo for my business.
09:32By a Russian gypsy, a girlfriend of mine who is an artist.
09:35This room has been created as a space to have steam room and ice bath.
09:42So that you can really improve your health, get rid of the toxins in your body
09:48and have a really nice chilled out experience before you go into the sound dome.
