00:00Are Howard Stern's days numbered? Technically, yes, and that number is down to just one show
00:05per week starting after Labor Day, according to our sources. Page Six also hears that Howard
00:09has laid off around a dozen staffers in preparation.
00:13We're told the news was dropped to staffers during a Zoom on Monday, July 13. Those who
00:18were let go were sent home immediately after the call and will receive severance packages
00:22according to how long they've been with the network.
00:24Rumors have been swirling for the past year that the legendary shock jock is retiring,
00:28including one shocking report from the Daily Mail last summer that claimed that it was
00:33all a desperate hoax from The Howard Stern Show itself to seem relevant again.
00:37And get this, after a summer of speculation about Howard's future on the air, on September
00:428th, 2025, The Howard Stern Show did come back with a hilarious psych-out. Take a look.
00:48This is not the voice that you probably wanted to hear, but it is I, Andy Cohen.
00:55I have to say, I fantasized for years about sitting in this chair. This is not how I thought
01:01this would go down.
01:02Gotcha. Howard, not Andy Cohen, ended up making his triumphant return to the relief of his diehard
01:08fans. Then, in December of 2025, he told listeners he's not retiring. In fact, he signed a new
01:15three-year contract with Sirius XM, which gave him more flexibility.
01:20I'm happy to announce that I figured out a way to have it all. More free time and continuing
01:30to be on the radio. So, yes, we are coming back for three years.
01:34He added, I do like my days off. You know me. I'm never bored. I'm busy every minute.
01:41But now, this 72-year-old radio star appears to be changing his tune slightly. Per our sources,
01:47the king of the Hamptons is cutting back to a single show a week after his summer break.
01:52Why? Simply because he, quote, just doesn't need that much content anymore. We're also told
01:58the show will keep a core team of veteran producers. The rest of the airwaves will be filled
02:02with tape from Howard's vast archive. It's been a rocky few months for the Stearns. In
02:07April, Howard and his wife, Beth, were sued by their former executive assistant, Leslie
02:12Kuhn, who accused them of creating a hostile work environment, to the tune of $2.5 million.
02:19A week after that, the Stearns filed to dismiss the lawsuit. In court docs obtained by Page Six,
02:25Howard dubbed the lawsuit a shakedown and a transparent sham. The following month, Beth put
02:31on a brave face on Andy Cohen's Sirius show and opened up about her hubby's new work-life
02:36balance. She said he's, quote, very happy with his contract and his new schedule.
02:41Beth also revealed she was very influential in negotiating Howard's contract. While it's
02:46unclear how much the deal was for, his previous five-year deal was worth a staggering $500 million.
02:51Wowzo.
02:53Oh, oh.
02:53Oh.
02:53Oh, oh?
02:53Oh.
02:55Oh.
02:55Oh, oh.
02:55You
